Alear was worried. She thought Alcryst may not like her. She saw how close he was with her twin Alan. She wanted to confess to Alcryst, but she saw Alan talking to him.
So she waited.
When Alan left, she went to give Alcryst the pact ring.
But she needed answers.
"Alcryst. What did Alan talk to you about?" She asks.
"Huh? Why does it matter?" Alcryst says.
"I am just curious..." Alear says.
"He wanted to go on a date." Alcryst says.
Alear's heart drops. "Oh... Did you agree?"
"I said I could try." Alcryst says.
Alear feels her eyes water. "I.. I see..."
"Is something wrong, Alear?" Alcryst asks.
"I wanted to give this to you, but... if you choose Alan... Then..." Alear holds out the pact ring. She sniffles.
"No! I don't! I choose you!" Alcryst says.
"Really?" Alear says.
"Yes. I like you more! And he talks badly about you. So I can't be with someone like that." Alcryst says.
"Thank you Alcryst." Alear smiles and wipes her tears.
"I am happy you want me. I could cry." Alcryst says.
Alear did not regret giving the pact ring to Alcryst. It was the best choice she could make. She smiles as she watches him. "Oh, Alcryst, please don't cry!"
"I won't, I promise. I'll do my best to stand tall for you—and for myself. Or, uh...taller than before, at least." Alcryst says.
"I suppose that's a start." Alear says.
"And I will get stronger! Despite how I seem, I am a prince of Brodia... As a son of the kingdom of warriors, I will become someone you can rely on... And I pledge to always protect you, Divine Dragon Alear." Alcryst says confidently.
It puts a smile on her face. "Thoughtful as ever, Alcryst."
"I can say all of this with the utmost confidence. In fact, I sweat it upon this ring." Alcryst says
"I believe you, Alcryst. Thank you." Alear holds the rpince's hand.
"I will stand beside you proudly and be the best prince I can be, to the very end." Alcryst smiles. He places a kiss on Alear's forehead and she feels her heart flutter.
Alear was the happiest she could be. She wanted this to lasy. "Will you stay with me?"
"Of course! If that is what you want!" Alcryst says.
"You promise you will choose me over Alan?" Alear says.
"Of course! You are the special one among you two." Alcryst says.
"What do you mean?" Alear says.
"Only you can awaken Emblems, and only you are the Emblem." Alcryst says. "Alan can't do any of that. You are the special one."
Alear smiles. "Thank you Alcryst."
She will treasure this forever.
