Ending up in Season two of Total Drama was a blessing and a curse. On the one hand he does have the chance to win a million dollars. On the other hand, It’s Total Drama, so he really should have expected to end up in a situation like this. Holed up in the make up confessional wanting to disappear after an inadvertent confession.
At the beginning of the season he was actually doing okay. Well as okay as anyone ever was on Total Drama. He was getting the chance to win a million dollars along with Courtney and fourteen others.
He’s surprised when Bridgette and Geoff were the first voted off. It made sense though, their making out was really annoying. The next challenge was where the drama came in. Basically Gwen and Trent ended up leading opposing teams and Trent was concerned about Duncan. Even though Duncan’s own girlfriend was right there and clearly wouldn’t allow anything to happen. Not that Noah thought he had anything to worry about. Izzy was eliminated.
What really got him though was the way Trent acted the next challenge. He was going a little ‘crazy’. The stress of Duncan and Gwen being friends, and Courtney fighting with Gwen was clearly getting to him.
When they’re all sent off to collect firewood Noah tracked down Trent. “Dude. What’s going on?”
“Nothing. Nothing’s going on.” Trent tried to claim.
“No, something is definitely going on. You clearly need help, and as our leader you have a duty to take care of yourself so you can make proper decisions.” Noah told him.
Trent sighed. “Look I don’t wanna talk about it man. Not here anyway.”
Noah nodded understandingly. “ I know some places without cameras. You can tell me there.”
Later that evening Trent lost the dance off tiebreaker. From what Noah could tell, on purpose. Once the filming was officially over he took the guitarist to a place deep in the woods he knew the cameras were not at. “Okay, why did you throw the challenge?”
Trent looked like a deer in headlights. “You noticed?”
“Hard not to. Now spill.” Noah said.
“I panicked. Owen said girls liked winning and I want Gwen to like me so…” Trent trailed. ‘
Noah face palmed. “Dude, she’s an independent person. She won’t like you doing that.”
“But, will she like me competing against her?” He asked.
“Look Trent. It’s unfair to the rest of the team, and if everyone else finds out you’ll be eliminated. Do you want that ? Moreover I don’t know if you noticed but you were freaking Gwen out earlier.” Noah told him.
Trent sighed. “I know. That’s why I decided to let her win. To make up for my…problem.”
“Problem?” Noah raised a brow.
“I…have OCD, and I’m afraid if Gwen finds out…” Trent trailed.
Noah sighed. “You need to tell her at some point Trent.”
“What if she leaves me?” The guitarist asked.
“If that happens then she wasn’t for you Trent.” The cynic said.
The next challenge didn’t go well for their team. Trent did seem to listen to him as he didn’t try to sabotage his own team and backed off from Gwen. Even if he was nervous about it. Sadly they still ended up losing the challenge. Noah managed to convince Owen to vote out Beth. He did try to eliminate Justin but Owen was too starry eyed to go along with that.
After elimination Trent talked to Gwen. From what Noah could see the conversation went well. It was confirmed when the guitarist came in, clearly in a good mood. “She said she doesn’t care. She just wished I told her sooner!”
“Now maybe you’ll stop freaking out.” Noah said.
They won the next challenge. Trent asked Gwen, and apparently the gold shovel they grips had won broke halfway through the digging segment. Noah’s not too surprised to see Heather was eliminated that evening.
The following challenge was hospital themed, and while Noah didn’t end up sick, he decided to stay behind and watch the rest of the contestants out of laziness. This was their team’s undoing as Duncan and Leshawna won the challenge for the grips.
Which leads us to today. They were all called to hear about the new challenge. After Chris faked his own death he explained. They were going to be competing in a scream off. One of them would pose as the killer and they had to scare the others into screaming. Best of three won.
Justin insisted on being the killer and Trent saw no issue with it. Honestly Noah would argue but they didn’t really have any good choices. Lindsay’s stupid, Owen and Trent are too friendly, Noah’s not intimidating in the slightest. Which left Justin.
They lost round one when Owen was too starstruck to be scared of Justin. Somehow Harold was more scared of DJ. They won the second round because Lindsay was easy to startle. Then there was the third round.
Noah found himself sitting on a couch with Trent. The backdrop behind them was of a cabin and reading the script he found it was a make out scene. “You want me to do what?!”
“I can’t kiss Noah! I’m in a relationship!” Trent protested.
“Remember kiddies, it’s a million bucks!” Chris told them.
Noah swallowed. “It doesn’t mean anything.”
The guitarist nodded. “Right. It doesn’t.”
They leaned forward and touched lips in a chaste kiss.
It might have been short, but Noah noticed something that chilled him. He enjoyed that. Oh no. He enjoyed that. Trent’s dating Gwen and he enjoyed kissing him?
Noah was so wrapped up in his own shocked realization that he didn’t even scream when Justin showed up. So they lost the challenge. Mostly due to Chef interfering on the Gaffer’s behalf. Noah had no idea what that was about.
They were taken to the crafts and service tent and Chris told them all this stupid story about a dead security guard haunting them. A clear set up. Their job was to spend the night in the tent. If they managed it they won. Chris gave them all a bunch of fake ghost detecting equipment.
The first thing that happened was a silhouette of a ‘ghost’ appearing outside the tent. It managed to scare Justin, Trent, and Owen, but surprisingly Lindsay pointed out their fake detectors weren’t going off. So everyone remained.
The next time it happened the ‘walls’ bled. Noah felt Trent grip his hand out of fear. He tried to ignore how nice it felt. Soon enough Lindsay pointed out the blood smelled like tomatoes. Asking Owen to lick the wall was a little strange, but it worked out.
To pass the time they all started to play go fish and Noah was winning. No one had a good poker face, and the rest of the game was simply memorizing who asked for what. It got his mind off of the kiss from earlier.
Then it happened. The lights went out. Owen and Justin freaked while Lindsay reassured them. Moaning sounds started from outside. That’s when Trent wrapped his arms around Noah. He was clearly scared. Noah was scared too, but not about the moans and darkness. He was scared of how natural it felt to have Trent’s arms around him. He hated to be touched. For this to be okay with him Trent had to either be a good friend or something more. And it was starting to become clear what that more was.
A security guard dropped down from the ceiling. Owen and Justin bolted, and Lindsay bolted when the ghost scanner went off. Noah would roll his eyes normally but he’s still kind of wrapped up in his own feelings.
It isn’t much longer before Gwen and Harold fall from the beam overhead. “Uh? What are you two doing?” Gwen asked.
Trent’s eyes widened as he realized the situation. “I got scared and grabbed the nearest person. I swear it means nothing.”
Gwen let it go easily enough, but throughout the rest of the night Noah couldn’t stop thinking about that moment. How would Gwen react if she knew Noah had enjoyed the kiss earlier? If she found out he was starting to crush on Trent? He can’t let her or anyone find out.
They managed to stay in the tent for the rest of the night, winning the challenge for the grips. Which leads us to the moment that made Noah hide out in the confessional. He was determined not to let anyone know what was going on inside him.
“Little buddy? You okay?” Owen asked.
“Fine.” Noah replied.
“You’re not. Something’s going on. What’s wrong?” The blonde asked.
“Nothing!” He snapped.
“You’ll feel so much better if you get it off your chest.” Owen said,
And that was when it happened all the emotions from the past several hours burst out of him. “I liked the kiss with Trent and I’m pretty sure I’ve developed feelings but he’s dating Gwen so I feel bad about it!”
Too late he noticed Trent had opened the door to the trailer. “Noah-” He began.
“I’m sorry!” He said, ducking under Trent’s arm and running off.
So here he is, locked in the make up confessional. Desperately wishing he could disappear. He knows how Total Drama is. He’s going to be painted in the worst light possible. A knock comes at the door. “Noah? You in there?”
Noah remained silent, hoping he’d leave. “Noah? I know you’re there. I've looked everywhere else.” Once again Noah was quiet. “I’m not mad you know? You can’t help your feelings. I’m not worried about you trying to break up my relationship. Heck if it weren’t for you, I might not even be with Gwen in the first place.”
Both of them were silent for about a minute then Noah heard Trent sigh. “You wanna be alone huh? I get it. Just know that when you’re ready to talk I’m here.”
Noah smiled, and while he didn’t unlock the door, he did reply. “Thanks Trent.
