Work Text:
There were once four brothers who walked upon a path, in time said path became a whispering fog that couldn't be seen through
The four brothers knew that it twas a trap, for it was whirling like endless whirlpools within the Rhine, a river so great it was like the divines
The brothers watched the fog above the Rhine give way for a clear vision of water and stone. The brothers walked to the river and waved their wands, and a bridge made of yew and obsidian rose
As the four of them neared the centre of the bridge, they felt a weight appear across their souls. They each saw a vision of what was to come, giving knowledge of what must be done. When the four brothers passed the bridge, they parted ways, each having their own missions
The first brother was a Master of Time, he was to make a tool that could rewind. He finished his mission when the veil was at it's thinnest, near an elder tree prayed upon by it's tenets
The second brother, Antioch, was a Master of The Veil, he was to make a wand that overpowered all others with deep betrayal. He finished his mission at the break of an eclipse, the moon red as he stood above a mountain of yew
The third brother, Cadmus, was a Master of Souls, he was to make a stone that could recall the old. He finished his mission when Akkad fell, laying across the burned remains of the great fig
The youngest brother, Ignotus, was a Master of Death, he was to make a cloak that vanished to the abyss. He finished his mission when the veil was at it's thickest, laying within a grove of willow trees
When the four brothers reunited, they once again crossed the Rhine, the Masters of The Veil, Soul, and Death were able to cross the channel with their mysteries. Those Brothers vanished into new horizons, one became a founder of a graceful realm, one became a founder of a school, the last founding a house of silent watchers
The eldest brother watched as new fates became established, thinking; Is this the end? Or just the beginning? For he had become Death, the destroyer of worlds, the end of all things.
