The body of the Fang princess, warm and firm, brushed against his with every movement of the serlot, it was like an electric current coursing through his body, causing an intense heat to spread from his cheeks to his fingertips.
She clung tighter to the saddle, trying to distract her mind with the texture of the rough leather under her fingers, but failed in the attempt, the physical closeness, sharing the cramped space of the saddle and the constant rocking of the serlot made her feel heated and confused, she wanted to pull away, but at the same time, she was drawn to that proximity.
Suddenly, Namaari broke the silence —You are very quiet— she said —Is something wrong?—
She let out a nervous gasp and tried to hide her face behind a lock of hair —No, nothing important— she replied, forcing a smile —I was just thinking about Tuktuk— she lied.
The Fang warrior nodded with understanding —I'm sure she's fine now, in a couple of days we'll be back to Heart— she answered leaning slightly forward from the serlot's movement.
Raya nodded, her girlfriend was so cute when she had no idea she was provoking her just by her presence.
Before she could respond with a flirtatious comment about that, the serlot snorted and stopped short, throwing them forward, with a gasp, she clung to the saddle to keep from falling, but before they could react Dao growled and all went silent.
A shiver ran down the backs of both girls, something was terribly wrong.
And then, a deafening roar was heard from the trees and before they could react a tygrursus emerged from the trees with its golden eyes glowing with savage ferocity.
The animal was a mass of muscles and sharp claws, a living embodiment of terror, Dao the serlot, sensed the predator's presence and tensed Namaari struggled to keep it under control but her partner's wild instinct was stronger and with a defiant roar, it pounced on the other animal, unleashing a fierce fight.
Both girls were thrown violently to the ground, the impact knocked the breath out of Namaari as she tried to protect Raya from the impact, it was not until she tried to stand up that the intense pain in her ankle indicated that it was twisted.
Meanwhile the serlot and the tygrursus engaged in a titanic battle.
The serlot's claws dug into the fur of the huge creature, but the latter shook violently, breaking free from the grip and with a sure claw, the tygrursus tore dao's skin.
The scene quickly turned into a whirlwind of claws, teeth and snarls, the serlot, more agile but less powerful, tried to dodge the tygrursus' attacks, but it was relentless, each blow of the animal only weakened Dao.
Raya and Namaari watched the scene in fear, Dao, Namaari's faithful companion, could die at any moment if nothing was done.
Raya, with a lump in her throat, stood up quickly, she felt her heart pounding in her chest and adrenaline pushed her to act -Stay here! -She ordered her girlfriend with a trembling voice despite her determination —I'm going to give Dao a chance!—
—Wait! Raya!— shouted Namaari but her girlfriend ignored her and with a cry of defiance, she deployed her whip sword, driving the tip into the animal's shoulder, the tygrursus roared in pain and turned towards her, but before it could attack, Dao managed to connect an accurate blow to its enemy's head, forcing it to retreat.
Finally, the tygrursus, wounded and feeling overcome, decided to retreat, the serlot gave a last defiant roar to the animal that disappeared into the thicket of the forest. The princesses remained motionless with their hearts beating a thousand per hour, that had been a dangerous situation.
After the battle, Dao approached his owner, rubbing his head against her cheek, he had a small cut on his right ear and was limping slightly, but his eyes shone with pride. Namaari gently stroked his fur, feeling a surge of affection for the faithful animal —You are the best friend anyone could ask for— she murmured, her voice full of affection.
Raya reached over and stroked Dao as well —Thank you for protecting us— she said affectionately.
Once the serlot had rested enough, they set out to return to their tribe, the journey was slow, the serlot was limping and both princesses decided not to force him to exert himself. Arriving at dusk, they were greeted in Spine with a mixture of relief and fear, the villagers, gathered around the square, whispered nervously and the eyes of many rested on Dao's wounds and a murmur of concern ran through the crowd —it has to be a tygrursus— muttered one of the elders in his deep, deep voice —I haven't seen a beast like that so close to the tribe for years—
—Tomorrow we will send a group of warriors to take care of it— interjected the chief, with a firm voice, —Until then, I want everyone to stay inside the tribe and avoid the forest—
Once the mood calmed down, Raya and Namaari retired to the hut assigned by the chief and once inside, they cleaned Dao's wounds and allowed him to rest by the fire of the fireplace.
Both girls retired and went to the room they shared.
When they were alone, the tension between them dissipated.
Raya carefully bandaged Namaari's ankle, who whispered softly "thank you" and they stood in a comfortable silence, the echo of the recent battle still echoing in their minds, they had an encounter with a creature that was normally lethal and now safe, they could relax.
—How bad is your ankle?— asked Raya, scratching her cheek, a little embarrassed by what she was thinking.
—I won't be able to exert myself for a couple of days, but I'll be fine? Why?— asked Namaari, feeling a strange sense of anticipation.
Raya nodded, biting her lower lip and with a determined move, pushed the other girl onto the bed and straddled her legs. —Nothing... I was just thinking of something more fun to warm us up— she said in a low, seductive voice —You know... before the tygrursus attacked us I had something in mind— she said while playing with the buttons of her partner's coat
Namaari felt the heat rise to her cheeks and with a shy smile, she nodded, encouraging her to continue.
The warrior leaned close to her ear and whispered, —Remember when we were in Dao's saddle and how our bodies moved to the rhythm of his steps?— Namaari closed her eyes, remembering the sensation and closeness she had experienced at that moment.
Raya traced a soft line over Namaari's abdomen, feeling her body shudder at the contact —I would like to relive that moment—she murmured, her voice husky and full of desire —But this time, without the danger, just the two of us— The princess of Fang opened her eyes meeting Raya's intense gaze, and in that instant, It was just the two of them cut off from the outside world.
