It was all wrong: he had never wanted it like this. Wrong that in the autumn evening he should feel the subterranean walls of Angband penning him in like a rat in a trap. Wrong that he could see no path that led them free from this. Wrong that he was meant to rape his brother. Wrong that he was going to do it.
Maglor let him lay him down upon the cloak. Beneath his palm, Maedhros could feel that he was trembling.
