Chapter Text
You find that journaling helps a lot with your thoughts, getting them down and out of your mind. You don’t know what exactly you’re going to do with the journals afterwards, but it still helps. And that’s all that matters to you at the moment.
It’s an outlet to get your feelings out, better than letting them fester in your mind and rot until they blow up. Crying helps get it out too, which often happens when you’re writing in your journal. Frustration, genuine sadness, tears of anger. Whatever it is, it feels good to get it out.
Even if it is particularly hard to hide from Eclipse, he has a habit of popping out of nowhere whenever the tears start. Not that you have a particularly big apartment, but it’s still a bit annoying and hard to get rid of him to continue doing what you’re doing. You don’t think he understands the concept of alone time very well.
Neither do Sun and Moon, but they’re… ya know, babies. They get a pass.
Moon in particular is very clingy, he really doesn’t like being set down. Which means he’s often in your arms, even while you’re trying to journal.
Chica got a picture of you very focused on your writing, Moon on your lap and staring up at you. One arm wrapped around him so he can’t fall while the other is furiously scribbling in your journal. It’s probably best she doesn’t know what you were writing, but it’s… it’s a good picture. You can admit that.
Chica’s bringing the pictures over soon though, since she and Freddy were working on something for you. And for the twins to appreciate when they’re older too. Apparently Chica wanted to do a gift and Freddy had the perfect idea for it, and they’ve been working on it since the twins were born.
Roxy’s already delivered a photo album to put on your shelves though, since apparently not every photo is being used, understandably considering how many were taken, and they know how much you love your photo albums....
Which is true, you have many. Some from when you were a baby and most from when you’re older, you like looking through them from time to time. Eclipse has looked through them by now too, along with your old yearbooks. He seems to like being able to look through photobooks too.
He’s asked about them, but you really don’t have much to say. A lot of it you just… can’t remember, for various reasons. Eclipse doesn’t seem to like that very much, but thankfully doesn’t push it. He seems content to focus on his sons rather than your family issues.
Speaking of the twins, Sun and Moon are growing... slowly. They recognize you and Eclipse now, they recognize Freddy and Chica and everyone else. They recognize and hate Monty for some reason, always screaming when he holds them. Eclipse and Freddy sigh about it, the former theorizing it might be from an old past grudge that they've carried through. You're.. confused about that.
But either way, you're thinking they might be developing a bit... slower than what's expected from human babies. Which.. you guess? They're not really human, and no one else seems to find this weird or be worried about it. Maybe you're worrying over nothing, you don't know.
You do know that they've picked up on Eclipse's human disguise though, even if he tries to use it as little as possible around them. Maybe the other's too, but you've yet to even see what they look like out of their disguises.
They've made little human disguises of their own, which gave you a heart attack the first time they did it and makes Eclipse scowl. They both look very similar to Eclipse in his, both in facial structure and skin. Having slightly visible vitiligo, which is significantly more noticeable on Moon than it is Sun or Eclipse. Sun and Eclipse share a more darker tanned complexion, while Moon's skin is darker where it isn't whitened. Sun also has bright curly blonde hair and the bluest eyes you've ever seen, while Moon has straight black hair and the same eyes as Eclipse. They also share his slightly uncanny nature if you look too long at them or just know they're not human.
Eclipse would rather they hadn't developed these forms yet, wanting them comfortable in their own skins before they go changing them to fit in to modern times. You argue this slightly, even if you... do agree with him.
"We can take them out on walks now," you point out, which has Eclipse grimacing. "Come on, we all need some fresh air. It'll get my mom off my ass to come visit with the kids too. My whole family was pissy that I didn't tell them I was pregnant, or had a partner, and are breathing down my neck about it."
"You hadn't told them?" Eclipse frowns, raising an eyebrow.
"What was I supposed to tell them? Hey, yeah. Got kidnapped and impregnated by snakes which were actually old gods that needed a warm body to get back to their original selves. And oh yeah, here's my husband, who I didn't even know I was married to until one of his cult's followers told me so after I came to in his bed. While he was still in a coma too. Haha, crazy right? Anyways here's your definitely not human grandchildren, surprise!" You reply, and Eclipse just rolls his eyes. You huff, bouncing and walking around the living room with a fussy Sun. "Clip, they would've freaked out."
That's probably putting it lightly too.
"Alright," Eclipse sighs, hands up in surrender. "But they know of us now?"
"Yes. My mother heard Sun crying on a call and I had to explain it to her," you sigh, rubbing a hand down your face. "She, and the rest of my family, was very upset I didn't tell them. And again, are very adamant on meeting them and you."
"I will not say no, if it's important to you," Eclipse nods, brushing your hair back as he steps behind you and brings his other hand around to cradle Sun as well. "But you don't seem enthused about this, do you not want us to meet them?"
"My family is... difficult," you reply, grimacing. Bouncing in place with Eclipse keeping you from pacing anymore. "Like I've said, I don't talk to them much. There's a reason I had Roxy set up as my next of kin."
"I had thought that odd," Eclipse mutters, then hums and nuzzles you before kissing Sun's head when he gurgles at him. "Do not worry, my love. You will be fine, and they will not hurt you or our children."
He then pulls you over to the couch, getting you to cuddle into his side.
"That's not what I'm worried about. They're not violent or anything, just... difficult. We grew in different ways," you sigh, shifting a bit more to get comfortable. Eclipse picks Moon up when he whines, upset about being left out of the cuddle pile. "I distanced myself as much as possible without cutting them out completely. They care, I know they love me, just.... ugh."
You toss your head back on the couch, Eclipse letting out a hum.
"We do not have to go see them if you do not want to," he assures, pulling you into his side. "If you do not want them in our lives, then they will not be."
You frown, sighing again.
"It's complicated. We'd have to travel to see them anyway, and get a hotel or stay with one of them," you grumble, staring at the ceiling. Eclipse doesn't reply, your frown deepening. "They live too far away to just pop over for a visit for a couple hours then come back home. Too much travel, especially with babies. And I don't... I don't know if I want them coming here."
Your nose scrunches with the thought, shoulders hitching up. You'd rather not have surprise visits, and they can't do them if they don't know where you live.
"If you don't want them here, then they will not enter our home," Eclipse replies, then sighs and tilts your head to face him. "Love, it is your choice if you want to include them in your children's lives. Do not let them pressure you into something you do not want to do."
"You don't even seem to want us going outside. Would you really want a multi day trip to go see my family I barely even talk to?" You snort, making Eclipse huff. You soothe over Sun's head, gently petting where rays are slowly starting to grow out of. Moon's are too, or that long nightcap like thing that he had in all the depictions of him.
"Don't use my protectiveness over you as a deflection to the issue, my love," Eclipse scolds, wagging a finger that Moon immediately tries to grab and chew on.
"I think you're more than a little overprotective, Eclipse," you comment, looking at him. "We haven't left the building since the twins were born. Even Freddy has tried to talk to you about it."
"Hardly," Eclipse scoffs, tapping your leg. "I can smell the rulebreakers from here. Even with that putrid man gone, his rot has still spread. I will not have them touching any of you."
"You are ridiculous. You hover so much I doubt any "rulebreakers" would be able to get within three feet of us," you say, looking down to Sun as he babbles away. He smiles widely when you look at him, fist clenching your shirt.
"I do my best. Now, about the meeting with your family...?" Eclipse hums, raising an eyebrow.
"Ughhhhh," you groan, tossing your head back again. Eclipse lowly chuckles, placing a kiss to your throat. Sun coos, Moon whining.
"Come now, my love. This is something we'll have to discuss. Especially with them, as you said, breathing down your neck about it," he rumbles, making you groan again and longer this time. You knock it off when Moon starts to cry, leaning over to press a kiss to his head which instantly makes him calm down again. Though he still looks upset, and that has Eclipse rubbing his back. "What have they done to you to make you so reluctant to see them? Freddy would be so upset to see this."
"Freddy? Why would he be upset?" You ask, looking at Eclipse with a raised eyebrow. He just gives you one back. "I don't want to talk about it. And I need time to think about a visit."
"Alright, my light," Eclipse sighs, patting Moon gently on the back as his stare drifts from you to Eclipse and back again. "Freddy was seen as the god of families, that's why he would be upset. Family is an important thing to him, and it breaks his heart to see one in turmoil."
Eclipse hums, then looks over you for a minute.
"It's likely part of the reason why he took to you so easily. He tends to bring people like you into his own family," he hums, making you blink at him a couple of times.
"Wait, he is? And also what do you mean people like me?" You frown, looking at him through narrowed eyes.
"People hurt by their families, or longing for the connection of one," he explains, which has you sputtering. "And yes, he was. We all had our domains that humans attributed to us. There was quite a bit of overlap sometimes, as we're not so easily put into boxes like humans like. It rarely mattered to us. I could bless someone's home just as he could, but their worship did make us stronger."
"It did?" You ask, curious. Eclipse nods, gently petting Moon's head before placing a kiss onto him.
"Yes. That was part of the reason for the war. Some wanted more strength and power, others were fine with what we had. Worship gives a boost to our over all strength, but we have plenty enough power in our own rights. We can survive without humans, just as they can survive without us," Eclipse hums, looking over at you. "Humans made us gods, but they did not make us."
"So... you weren't gods?" You ask hesitantly, confused.
"No, but it was the best thing humans could compare us to. And so gods we became," Eclipse hums, making you blink a few times. He catches your chin, then kisses you slowly. "You will understand better later, my love... Humans are such silly little things though. Their need for answers still has them clinging to gods, even if they no longer have proof of their existence in their lives. They do love their stories, don't they?"
"I... Yeah, I guess?" You reply, still a bit confused. Eclipse chuckles, pressing another kiss to the side of your head. You shake your head and put all this out of your mind, then look at him with narrowed eyes. You lightly kick his leg too, for good measure. "I do want to go on a walk. I don't like being locked up, and I'll get Monty to sneak me out if I have to."
This time it's Eclipse who's groaning, because he knows Monty would be delighted to sneak you out. He's been practically ready to bust your door down and kidnap you at any moment, as soon as you give him the word. Been a real thorn in Eclipse's side for months now, along with Roxy. As neither are particularly happy about you being a modern day Rapunzel, and are very vocal about it too. So, he sighs.
"Alright, alright, my love. We'll go for a walk," he relents, making you grin. "Might as well put those strollers to use."
He's grumbling the whole time, but does keep his word. You drive to the city and get to walk around, get out of the house for a change. The park is nice, and it's a nice start to see how the twins do in a public setting. Which is currently wide eyed and staring at all the new things before them, as they've only ever been in the house so far. Whether that's your apartment, or one of the other's. Or the porch.
To be a little fair, it was still very cold when they were born. But the first day of spring has long come and gone already, so you're more than ready to be outside again.
"Ah, they're having a festival," Eclipse notes, looking over at the band playing and the people sitting around. You look over too, taking everything in. "A rather sad one, I'll say."
"Ah, it's uh... Uhm...." You snap your fingers, trying to think of the name. It comes to you after a minute. "Ah, it's Music in the Park. They do it every Thursday evening. It helps maintain the city's parks, I think."
"Interesting. Shall we sit for a bit?" Eclipse asks, looking over at you. You look up at him, raising an eyebrow. "You wanted some time outside, and I'm interested in watching performers."
"Alright," you agree, eyes still narrowed at him.
You both find a patch of grass to sit on with a decent view of the band. Eclipse takes Sun to hold, letting him out of his car seat for a bit. You take Moon, who clings to you like a koala. While Sun is looking at everything he can, Moon is hiding in your chest. You guess he might be a bit shy, and gently rub his back.
You get a few looks from people, and some continue to stare. It makes you a bit nervous, but when Eclipse looks right back at them they quickly advert their eyes. He quickly goes back to watching the band once they're dealt with, observing them in a focused way that has you raising an eyebrow.
You just take the moment to breath in some fresh air.
You don't know when it happened, but somehow during your time there Eclipse got you laying down with your head on his lap so he could brush through your hair. Even with his focus still on the band.
You only pack up and leave once the twins start getting fussy, particularly Moon who you don't think liked all the noise. Sun was staring at the band nearly as intently as Eclipse, or at other people or whatever else caught his interest.
"I think they're just hungry, my love. Perhaps a bit tired as well," Eclipse comments, strapping Sun back into his car seat.
"I'll feed them back in the car," you reply, noting that it is almost time for them to eat with a sigh.
"Would it not be more comfortable here?" Eclipse asks, glancing around.
"No. People would make a fuss," you sigh, heading back towards the car. Eclipse looks at you with narrowed eyes, and you still think he looks a bit funny pushing a stroller when he's so tall.
"Why would they make a fuss about you feeding your children?" He asks, confused.
"Because it's breastfeeding and that's seen as indecent," you reply, not really wanting to have this conversation. "People are weird about women's bodies and how much skin they show. Even if they are just trying to feed their kids."
"That is ridiculous," Eclipse huffs, still staring at you. You shrug.
You get to the car and climb into the passenger seat, Eclipse handing you both of the twins. They are getting fussy because they're hungry, so you feed them before heading home. Eclipse folding the strollers and putting them in the back, then standing in the passenger door, arm over the twins and eyes narrowed at the blankets flipped over them. He doesn't say anything though.
"I went to theaters with Sun and Moon often, back then," Eclipse tells you on the way back home. You look over at him, and he grins. "We quite liked it, it was always fun. I'm a bit intrigued to go see what they're like now."
"They're... kind of expensive," you reply, wrinkling your nose. Eclipse hums, setting a hand on your thigh.
"My love, I have the money. You don't have to worry about that. I could buy you the world, if you asked me," he assures, making you look at him for a second before quickly turning back to the road.
"What? You have money?" You ask, confused. "You've been asleep for.. how long? How do you have money?"
Eclipse laughs, apparently greatly amused by your confusion.
"Of course. My followers have been maintaining my wealth since I fell asleep. Honestly, they've grown it quite a bit over the years," Eclipse hums, fingers tapping the inside of your thigh. "Sun and Moon also have their own, ready for them once they are old enough to maintain them again."
"Wah.. I thought Freddy and everyone else was still taking care of things. Why didn't you tell me that?" You ask, swatting him a few times and he laughs harder. "I've been feeling bad about that this whole time, and for nothing!"
Eclipse takes the hand you're hitting him with and kisses it, looking at you with lidded eyes.
"I did promise to buy you whatever things your heart desired, my wife. Did you think I was lying about that?" He rumbles, making you sputter again.
"Quit it, I'm driving," you grumble, and Eclipse gives your hand one more kiss before relenting.
"Yes, my love," he purrs, and you want to smack him in his dumb smug face. You don't though, you don't want to get into a crash after all and kill everyone. You hate driving enough as it is, but Eclipse hasn't gotten a license and you really wanted out of the house. So, you do what you have to.
Eclipse doesn't let up with his teasing for long, but he never does anyway.
At least you know he'll back off if you tell him to stop something.
"Eclipse, come on," you whine, as he lavishes your neck with kisses and nips. Hands wondering your body as he has you pin on the couch, since you were watching a movie. Emphasis on were. You're not sure what brought this bought of affection on, even if he was being his normal handsy self the whole time.
A shiver goes right down, and you squirm.
"Come now, my love. Let me worship you properly. Sun and Moon are asleep, we won't be interrupted," Eclipse whispers, pressing a kiss to your chin afterwards. You shiver when he nips the underside of your jaw, purring up a storm. "It will be pleasurable for you, my light. I can assure you. If you let me."
He slips down your neck, hands tugging at your shirt and twisting it around his fingers.
You let him, and he slides his hands from the cloth to your skin. The warmth trails from your stomach to your waist, until his fingers are slipping into your waistband and underwear.
A jolt.
“Eclipse, no,” you gasp, tensing and your breath catching. He backs up, hands slipping off of you.
“Alright, my love,” he murmurs, still grinning. “Would you like to continue the… movie?”
You take a moment, then nod.
“Yeah,” you agree. He brings both of you back up to sitting properly, keeping his arm around you as you tune back in to what’s happening on the screen.
His hands remain over your clothes the whole time.
_____
Your mother’s texting you again now, incessantly while you’re trying to calm Moon. Who’s being particularly clingy today and not wanting you to put him down for even a moment, and has been this way since the two woke up this morning. You can’t even hand him over to Eclipse, he just wants you right now.
It’s not working out very well for you at the moment.
You sigh, then tiredly call for Eclipse. He calls back, then asks for a second when you tell him to come here. You shift Moon up a little more while waiting, patting his back as he cries.
Eclipse comes around the corner a moment later, Sun in his hands who immediately starts to tear up when he sees Moon crying.
“Is he not settling?” Eclipse asks, stepping closer to you.
“That’s not the problem,” you sigh, bouncing on your toes a bit more.
“Oh?” Eclipse asks, raising an eyebrow as he pats Sun’s back.
“No. Can you look human for a minute, please?” You ask, making Eclipse blink at you in further confusion. “Please?”
“I suppose, my love,” he replies.
“Moon, look,” you whisper, turning slightly so the boy can see his father. Moon and Sun both follow Eclipse as soon as they see and register his new look, and you shift Moon up a bit more to snap a picture.
You send it to the group chat, and that’ll get them to shut up for a moment. Now you can focus fully on Moon and your phone going off constantly won’t bother either of you.
Eclipse is still confused, especially as you throw your phone onto the couch.
“Thank you,” you tell him, and nothing else.
“Is everything alright, my love?” Eclipse asks, stepping closer and placing a kiss to your forehead.
“Yes, everything’s fine,” you sigh, and he doesn’t seem to believe that.
He does have to go back into the kitchen before whatever he’s cooking could burn though, so you get out of having to tell him and can calm Moon down finally.
“There we go,” you whisper, wiping his face and running your fingers through his hair that he has for now. “All better now.”
Moon certainly still looks grumpy, but he just hides his face in your shoulder to pout. You can sit on the couch and cuddle him until he stops pouting now, and see your phone is still blowing up with messages. Most cooing over the picture.
You sigh at your sister asking why he’s crying though, because you know what the response to “IDK, he just was” is going to be.
“You’ve got to let them cry! Don’t let them manipulate you, or you’ll never be able to put them down!”
And there it is. You really need to mute the conversations again.
“My love, dinner’s ready,” Eclipse calls, letting you drop the phone to the side and go into the kitchen.
Dinner is great, and you head out onto the porch afterwards when Eclipse goes to talk to Freddy. After both of the twins had been fed too.
Monty finds you out there, coming back from somewhere apparently. You're still cradling Moon who’s still refusing to be put down or held by anyone else, tiny fists clutching your clothes with all the strength he can muster in his equally tiny body.
“You still got him?” Monty asks, slowing his assent up the stairs.
“Yeah, he’s really fussy today for some reason,” you sigh, petting the baby’s head. Monty grunts, uncertain, and lingers around the porch railing.
He looks uncertain, and grimaces at Moon in your arms. You know it’s no secret that he’s uncomfortable around the twins, and Roxy is too to a certain degree. Seems worse for Monty though, for whatever reason.
It’s probably the reason he’s been avoiding you for a while now, more than he usually did anyway. It still makes you a bit sad. You don’t think you were particularly close, despite what the others said, but you still think you were friends. Or maybe just hope you were.
“It’s… Uh, I…” Monty stutters, stumbling and stopping awkwardly. You look up at him again, blinking. He rubs the back of his neck, heel tapping on the ground.
He sighs, shoulders loosening as he looks at you and then at Moon again. The baby hardly looks happy to see him, and clings onto you with all the strength he has.
“It’s… weird seeing those two like that,” Monty grumbles, motioning to Moon. “Roxy seems to be the only other person to get that.”
“I… didn’t know them before,” you reply, unsure. “But yeah… It’s weird for me too.”
“Yeah. I bet,” Monty grimaces, shifting on his feet. “Uh… They weren’t bad, but… you can probably guess we… weren’t the best of friends.”
“All Eclipse told me about is some past grudge,” you shrug, rocking to keep Moon from throwing another fit.
“That’s… putting it lightly. Sun and Moon didn’t like me much, I didn’t like them either to be frank. We fought a lot,” Monty sighs, and doesn’t seem to want to talk about it much.
“You don’t have to tell me, if you don’t want to,” you assure him, and he lets out a breath.
“Just… don’t think people have been telling you enough,” Monty shrugs, then motions to the baby in your arms. “Much less about who… we used to be or… yeah. I mean, ya don’t even know what most of us really even look like. Just… don’t think that’s fair.”
“Hmm,” you reply, glancing to the side. “Well… I think I know who you are now.”
“Do ya really feel that way? After all of this?” Monty asks, motioning to everything. You frown, not looking him in the eyes. He sighs. “Yeah, I didn’t think so.”
Monty stands awkwardly for another moment, then sighs again and drops heavily down onto another seat. It creaks, but the man doesn’t really seem to care.
“Look I… I don’t know if anyone’s said this to ya, but we, me and Roxy and Chica and Freddy, we are sorry for… dragging ya into this mess,” Monty says, you looking at him again. “I wish it never happened and you didn’t have to deal with this bullshit. It ain’t fair ta ya, none of it is.”
“But…?”
“No buts. It just plain isn’t fair. Ya never asked for any of this, and ya shouldn’t have had it forced onto ya,” Monty grumbles. “It’s bullshit. I’d’ve ripped those damn bells off of ya and taken ya far away if I could’ve.”
You take a breath and let it out a moment later, looking back down at Moon.
“It should be your choice whether you stay or not. It’s a choice that should’ve been given to ya and everyone knows that, Eclipse especially. I don’t know what’s gotten into that fucker’s head, but he ain’t acting like I remember ‘im,” Monty continues, making you look up again.
“What… do you mean?” You ask, confused.
“You wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, but before… Well, he wasn’t like this.” Monty motions forward aimlessly, then crosses his arms again. “He was a good guy, I guess. Responsible, fun. All that I’m sure Chica and Freddy’s told ya. He’s still got that, I guess. He looked after us. But he… he wasn’t… He wouldn’t keep us locked up like he’s done with you, or hover so fuckin’ much. He was never that overbearing or clingy.”
Monty huffs, shaking his head and grimace deepening.
“He wasn’t with Sun and Moon either. He gave them the freedom to do what they wanted without hovering over their shoulders 24/7. Enough freedom to come and fuckin’ pick a fight with me every other damn day at that,” Monty growls, and Moon’s face gets bluer. “He’s… changed. And that’s not even mentioning the fuckery that is up with Sun and Moon. I don’t fuckin’ get it.”
You hum, blinking at him. You squeeze Moon a bit more, get him to stop looking at Monty stewing in the seat across from you and stop glaring at him.
“Uhm, well… I.. don’t know,” you hum, tilting your head. Monty sighs, rubbing his eyes underneath his glasses. “Uhm… But… maybe the war?”
“What?” Monty asks, narrowing his eyes.
“I mean… He almost died, and lost Sun and Moon,” you shrug, grimacing yourself. “That’d be enough… probably. And I mean… war fucks with your mind, and almost dying has that effect too…”
“We ain’t humans though. It ain’t the same for us,” Monty huffs.
“Maybe. But it’s still, it’s traumatic,” you say, tilting your head. “He probably didn’t come out of that unscathed.”
“I guess… You don’t have to defend ‘im. It’s still ain’t fair to you. You should be able to go and do what you want, instead of being stuck in the house all the damn time,” Monty sighs.
“Yeah,” you agree, looking back at the baby in your arms.
“I just… I’m sorry, fer all of this,” Monty sighs, slumping into the chair a bit more.
“Thanks.”
You head back inside before too long, and Eclipse is waiting for you when you enter. He wraps around you, pushing Sun into your arms as well, and cradles you and the twins.
“You know they’re getting a bit big for me to be able to hold both of them easily,” you say, Eclipse just humming and swaying with you as he stares. Moon doesn’t look to happy to have Sun or his father encroaching on his day with you either, and you note that to Eclipse too.
“Come on, my Moon. You have to share,” Eclipse playfully scolds, brushing a hand over the boy’s back.
Moon seems to disagree with that notion vehemently, and tears start up in his eyes.
“Someone’s really grumpy today,” you coo, pressing a kiss to Moon’s forehead. Sun immediately wants the attention too, grabbing clumsily at your face and whining. You tilt your head back so he’ll stop, then give him a kiss too while Eclipse lowly chuckles.
“See how your children adore you so?” He whispers, tightening his arms around the three of you. “They love you. Just as much as I do.”
“Uh-huh,” you hum, noncommittally. “I’m pretty sure they love their toys more.”
“No. You’re their whole world, my love,” Eclipse murmurs, pressing his lips to the back of your neck.
“They’re babies, Eclipse. Of course we’re their whole world right now,” you snort, pressing another kiss to Moon’s head.
“Hmmm. You know what I meant, my love. My world,” he purrs, trailing down your neck and to your shoulder.
Moon seems to find this offensive though, as he clumsily smacks his father for getting too close. You laugh, Eclipse backing up and sending a look to his blue in the face son.
“Yes well, your world is getting very mad right now,” you chuckle, twisting in his grip enough to face Eclipse. He keeps his hold tight, pouting. “Take Sun again, will you?”
“I like being able to hold my world in my arms,” he hums, eyes turning back to you.
“And I’ve been holding half of that world the entire day. I’m tired, and I’d like to sit down,” you huff, shifting the babies up on your hips as much as possible.
“Alright, my love,” Eclipse hums, reluctantly taking Sun from you. You have to give the baby another kiss to keep him from turning anymore orange in the face, and luckily it’s enough to get him to stay in his father’s arms.
Putting the two down for the night is a challenge, because neither want to go. It takes a couple of songs before you can settle them into the bassinets without them waking up again, then you have to sneak out just as quietly.
Eclipse is on you again as soon as you’re both in the clear, rendering you breathless with a kiss.
“My love. You know you’re my world, don’t you?” He murmurs against your chin. “I adore you, I love you.”
“Eclipse,” you sigh, hands coming up to rest against his chest. He moves down to your neck and shoulder, pressing open mouthed kisses every inch and making you shiver. Sending that shiver right down. “What brought this on?”
“I love you,” he repeats, moving back up to render you breathless again. “I love you.”
He slides back down to your neck, making sure he's touched every inch. Marking it as much as he can, making you squirm and gasp. His hands roam and squeeze, one gripping your thigh and pulling up. He presses down, grinding over your pajama pants and making you choke on a breath. Working you up.
"Eclipse," you gasp, turning your head as he nuzzles. His purring gets louder, and he bites down on your neck. You whine, eyes wincing shut and a jolt going straight down.
"My love, my light, my life," he murmurs against your skin, hand trailing up to bury into your hair. He cradles your head with it, claws gently scratching your scalp. Tilting your head the way he wants it to nip you again. "My beautiful, precious wife."
He leans up, pressing his lips to yours in a deep kiss. He presses onto you, his tongue slipping into your mouth to explore like he's never kissed you this deep before. Tangle with yours and nearly choke you. Leaving you gasping for air when he finally pulls back, only to dive for another. And another and another.
"Eclipse," you whine, as he trails his kisses down again. Slipping your tank top over your head to get better access, then pulling your pajama pants down when they get in the way. "Eclipse!"
He pauses and releases his grip enough for you to pull yourself loose if you want, purrs continuing as he waits. You catch your breath, gripping the sofa to steady yourself.
He’ll stop if you tell him to.
You don't. Your hand slips from the couch to his shoulder, sliding around his neck and gripping his shirt. Eclipse stares for a moment, then leans back down and presses another open mouthed kiss to your stomach.
"I love when you call my name, my wife. Say it again?" He purrs, right over your hips. You squirm, shivers wracking down your spine, though don't get very far with his grip retightening on your thigh.
"Eclipse.." You gasp, a jolt running through you when his tongue licks up your already wet folds. He pulls your thighs further apart, shoving his face between them to give another lick. Purring, sending another jolt as he finds your clit. Another lick finds your entrance, and he has no problem diving in with that far too dexterous tongue of his. "Eclipse, please.."
He hums, and you shiver. Whimpering at the feeling of him inside you, and his finger finding your clit to play with. He pushes and pulls back, finding every spot and move that'll get a noise out of you and relentlessly attacks them. Making you grip the sofa and his shoulder tighter, closing your eyes as they begin to tear and a coil builds in you.
He doesn't let up until the coil snaps, pleasure rolling down your spine and making you whine again. He chuckles lowly, licking up your release before climbing over you again. He catches your lips again, pressing his hips to yours.
He presses in slowly, and you can really feel every inch of him. Thin at the tip, thick at the base. A tentacle more than a human dick, and it moves like one. You can feel barbs scraping against your walls and making you shiver, gasping into the kiss.
He gives you a minute to adjust, starting slow, then pulls out before slamming back in. You choke, arms flying to wrap around his neck for some stability. Nails scratching and digging into his odd feeling skin, scrambling with every rough thrust and making him groan.
"My light... You're perfect. My love," he mutters, right into your ear. You bite your lip, trying to be quiet so you don't wake the twins just in the other room. "Stars.... I've waited so long for you."
You moan, tears beading from your eyes that he's quick to lap up before going back to muttering in your ear. You cry out his name again, making him stutter for a moment before slamming back in again. His murmuring starts up again, fingers digging into and leaving marks on your skin.
"Eclipse!" You moan, head pressing back into the couch as you orgasm again. He keeps going right through it, and even after pushing you hard into over-stimulation. He laps up your tears though, purring kicking up as your nails dig into and scratch up his back.
"Beautiful. My beautiful wife. My... My.... Stars, I adore you," he pants, grabbing and raking his claws down your skin. Pressing as close to you as possible, as if trying to make you one with another. He bites down on your shoulder again, and you barely stifle a scream from it all. "I won't let anyone bring harm to you. I'm going to treasure you for the rest of eternity. My light, my love. My precious wife."
He groans, stuttering again and his thrusts get sloppier. He only takes a second to reposition himself, then slams in deeper and makes you cry again.
"I'll keep you safe, so stay right here. Always stay within reach, my love." His words are broken up between pants and moans, and sometimes desperate kisses pressed onto your face. You groan, whining and cling to him. His arms wrap around you tighter, shifting you a bit more in his grip as he chases his end. "Stay in my arms, you're safe here. My light, my love, my life. Stay with me. It's dangerous out there, let me always protect you. Stay right here. Right here in my arms, please."
You hit another hard orgasm the same time he does, pumping a few more times before just resting inside of you. He remains leaning over you while he catches his breath, hands still squeezing you wherever they can. He's still purring, and you can feel it in your chest.
Then he starts up again, and again, and again. You loose count quickly.
When he moves, he brings you with him. Sitting you both up and supporting your weight against him as he shifts, his dick remaining stubbornly inside you and making you shiver as it scratches your inner walls. Two of Eclipse's hands bury into your hair, pushing until your forehead is against his. A few of his eyes closing, but many remaining open to stare at you.
You feel full, more than you ever have or probably should feel. Or is natural for humans. And he is currently keeping it all trapped within your body, happily kneading your thighs and keeping you firmly planted where you are.
"Perfect. You're so beautiful," he whispers, nuzzling against your face. "You'll look even more beautiful when full of my children. I'll give you more. Many, many more."
"Nngh.. Eclipse," you whine, grimacing at that thought. He just rumbles, making you choke when he moves inside you again. "Eclipse, please.."
He hums, finally pulling out and making you gasp doing so. He sweeps you right up again, pulling you into a deep kiss heading off to the bathroom to run a shower. It's not a peaceful shower, even though he does clean you up. Even as he presses you against the wall to make your knees even weaker with more kisses and bites, make you gasp and plead.
He at least seems satisfied by the time you reach the bed, checking on Sun and Moon who somehow slept peacefully throughout all of that. Then he's crawling into bed with you, wrapping around you as tightly as he can. You tuck your head under his chin and he's likely going to continue purring throughout the night.
He falls asleep quickly, and you're too exhausted to fight sleep's claim any longer.
You're woken up in the morning by the twins, of course. You're barely able to get Eclipse's clingy paws off of you long enough to grab Sun before he wakes Moon up too, the baby happily gurgling at your tired face. He needs a change, then to eat. Then Moon is as well, though Eclipse has already taken care of the first part.
They're still refusing anything other than breastmilk even when they should be able to eat more things now, which makes you worry. You can't force it, of course, and Eclipse assures you it's normal. And that's not your only problem over the next few weeks as it turns out.
Your period is late, but every pregnancy test you take comes back negative. Despite Eclipse's voracious appetite after that barrier was broken.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about either of those, Hon!" Chica grins, waving a hand as if to bat the idea away. "After all, we are very different from humans. Things do work a little differently for us!"
"Yeah, you don't have to sweat it," Roxy agrees, more focused on manipulating your hair the way she wants.
The two kidnapped you for a girl's night, one of the very few instances you can get away from Eclipse for some room to finally breathe. At least a little bit, as the girls aren't particularly hands off either.
"I'm sorry?" You ask, confused.
"You're not pregnant, don't worry," Chica says, pointing at you while staring at your stomach. "You probably won't get pregnant again for like... a long time. Your periods will come later too, you'll probably only get them like... four or five times a year now... Maybe less. That's normal!"
"Yeah. I get 'em maybe like.. twice a year," Roxy hums, pleased with her work as she steps away from you. "Fertility and that stuff just takes longer for us. We're not usually... born like humans are, I've been told. Or it's rarer at least. We usually just kind of.. showed up. Though it hasn't happened in a while. Not since the war."
"Yeah. There's been no new gods since the war practically killed everyone," Chica sighs, munching on some pizza. "We grow a lot slower than humans too. Humans have such short life spans, we live a lot longer than them. Technically we don't die until something makes us. We don't die of old age, simply because we don't age like that."
"I'm honestly surprised you delivered the twins when you did," Roxy mentions, grabbing a slice for herself as she sits down again. "I thought they'd take longer. Though I guess it's probably a good thing they did. Wouldn't have been a pleasant or easy birth then."
"Yeah, I don't think either of them would've made it out without a C-section if they had developed longer in the womb. Sun wouldn't have been able to with his rays and all," Chica agrees, making you grimace.
"Uh-huh. Why are you talking like I'm a part of this now too?" You ask, looking between them. Chica and Roxy share a glance, then look at you again.
"Because you are, Sweetpea. You're one of us now," Chica replies, softly. You blink, leaning back. "Not sure how exactly, but we're glad to have you anyway. I was always sad we were going to have to say goodbye one day, and now we don't! Isn't that great?"
"What?" You whisper, wide eyed.
"Sorry," Roxy sighs, looking away from you. "I'm pretty sure the change was started as soon as you got pregnant with those two. Your body changed to suit them. It... was probably our fault."
"Wha- How?" You don't get that, nor why they're looking so guilty now.
"Well, you hanged around us a lot. And ate my... "special" cooking, and we gave you little blessings because we liked you," Chica replies, scratching her cheek. "You're real sweet, and we all enjoyed having you around. So, we wanted to give you little things as well. We didn't mean for it to go so far as to change your whole biology-"
"No blessing that we gave could do that," Roxy interrupts, glancing towards Chica.
"Right, but it probably left you... a little more open to our... like magic, which helped you survive carrying Sun and Moon. And you wouldn't have been able to withstand that without some changes," Chica rambles, hands flying nervously. "If you were just a regular human, you would've died. Like the other girls that they tried this with. It's not like humans can really take the demand our children would have on their body. Your situation even more so considering-"
"Everything that you had to go through," Roxy interrupts again, slapping a hand over Chica's mouth. "Yeah. Uh... You're one of us now. We, uh, thought you knew. Or Eclipse would've... told you by now. Uh, you're the first one of us to be created in... centuries!"
You're shocked, staring at the two. They shift uncomfortably, glancing at each other with a grimace.
"We're sorry, babe. We really didn't know this would happen," Chica sniffs, looking down. "We thought Eclipse, Sun, and Moon had died even with their followers still active in some capacity. We were just trying to be your friends, and help you out a bit."
She rubs her neck, then looks up at you with a bit of a bigger smile.
"But we're happy you'll be sticking around with us! We're really glad to have you officially as part of the family," Chica chirps, then winces as Roxy smacks her arm and growls something lowly enough that you can't hear. Her eyes remain on you, watchfully, and you think they look yellow in the light.
You look in the mirror later that night, staring at your reflection for anything off. Something that doesn't look human anymore. You poke and prod at yourself, but.. You don't know. You can't see anything off and you can't really believe you're anything but human, you definitely don't feel any different..
You look at Eclipse suddenly behind you in the mirror, sliding his hands along your arms.
"Something the matter, my love?" He purrs, pressing a kiss to your neck. Your mouth opens and closes a few times, and you choke on the words. Eclipse waits patiently though, watching you with half lidded eyes through the mirror.
"Am I.. Have I.... Am I really one of you now? My body..." You whisper, afraid to really speak it into being. Eclipse hums, tilting his head.
"Yes, of course you are," he rumbles, hands smoothing over your skin. "Sun and Moon will need you for longer than a human lifespan could offer. And they would have killed you if you hadn't changed, just like all those other girls they had tried to revive us with."
Eclipse says it like it's nothing, and you feel a bit more horror creeping in.
"We really are quite lucky, my love. Things lined up just right for us to be together," he purrs, kissing your neck again. His grin widens, and it sends a little shiver down your back. It never gets any less creepy. "The fates have blessed us."
Will... Will you change more? Will you gain such a wide unsettling smile like him? More eyes and limbs, or sharper teeth? Will your body change to resemble them more, or maybe something else as equally eldritch? Will you be forced to change so much you won't even be able to recognize yourself anymore? Will you change so much you won't even be you?
"Don't get too lost in your head now, my wife," Eclipse hums, tilting your face to look at him. "It'll be quite alright. I'll be here to help you through whatever ails you. Now come on, your children are waiting for their lullaby."
Eclipse pulls you into your room, where the two are just about ready to start throwing a fit with how tired they are. You pick up Moon, who's already blue in the face. He settles down quite quickly when he sees it's you who picked him up and not Eclipse. He relaxes even more when you start to sing, and Sun settles too. Even if he wasn't as ready to throw a fit as Moon was.
You stare down at the little baby in your arms, who's still staring up at you too. Wide bright red eyes meeting yours, trying to curl closer to your chest even with being pressed up as closely as he possibly could be. Blue stained hand gripping your shirt, not a peep coming out of him.
Eclipse steps closer to you, holding Sun and gently rocking with you. Sun's wide white eyes stare into you as well, head resting against Eclipse sleepily. He looks a lot more ready to pass out than Moon does, even giving you a wide yawn to prove it. He'll probably fall asleep within one song, as he usually does.
They... These two really....
Your life was really uprooted and changed completely for these two. Because that damn cult decided to try fate's hand and you just happened to be the one they grabbed, and just so happened to be friends with gods who just so happened to like you enough to bless you. And that kept you from dying down there somehow...
Stars, if things had been different you would've just been another casualty for these three. Another life sacrificed to bring them back. And for what?
Your whole life has been sidetracked. You can't even get a job, live on your own, or really even do anything that you'd like to. Any goals or dreams you were working toward were basically all thrown out the window, and all for these three. Without any choice on your part. They've even changed your very damn biology to suit them better.
Moon lets out a quiet little whine, making you focus back on him. His eyes are a bit teary, and your grip softens again from when it unconsciously tightened.
You sigh, then start another song for him.
What is there to do about it? It's not exactly like you can reverse any of what happened, or Eclipse would even let you try.
It's not Sun or Moon's fault either. They were just the animals they turned into, and it was the cult that set them up to enter your womb. And they're just babies now, they've had no say in what's happened to them. And it's not like you can blame a baby for being attached to one of it's caretakers.
Eclipse sets a sleeping Sun back into his bassinet, pressing a gentle kiss to his head. Smile wide as he adoringly looks down at his son, and it turns to you and Moon as well. He kisses Moon next, the baby hissing another quiet whine at it, before he presses his lips to your forehead. Wrapping his arms around you to sway along with the lullaby for Moon.
You guess you really can't be mad at them. It's circumstance, fate, whatever you want to call it. Things just happened the way they did, the chips fall where they have. There's nothing any of you can really do about it now, unfortunately. Not that some would even if they could. No, it's just how it is.
It is what it is.
Doesn't mean you have to be exactly happy about it though.
