Work Text:
Piper's eyes rolled back and she fell to the ground, limp. As this happened, Rachel also came back to herself, now that the voice was done saying whatever it needed to say.
The issue, now, was that Piper was unconscious on the floor and maybe dead.
Rachel felt her heart drop into her stomach whilst simultaneously beating so fast that a dull ache formed in her chest.
"What did I- I didn't mean to- FUCK!!"
"Rachel, hey, focus" Annabeth said, a bit unsympathetically. "We need to get her to Chiron"
"I- I can't- I didn't-"
"Rachel, it's okay, just try to focus on me" Annabeth said as calmly as she could. She didn't comment when Rachel began to cry, shakily looking up at the blonde with a terrified expression. "Can I touch you? Is that okay?"
"Y-Yeah"
"Okay" Annabeth nodded, gingerly leaning in. She put one hand against the panicking girl's back and one on her chest, at the base of her collarbone. This essentially worked to place pressure on Rachel's chest, providing a similar effect to that of a weighted blanket, and it was something she'd done countless times for Percy when he got too stressed or had flashbacks. "Just focus on your breathing, it's okay"
With the newfound weight grounding her a bit and Annabeth's best attempts at empathy, Rachel found herself calming down enough to help Annabeth pick up the girl and begin their trek to Chiron.
Rachel just prayed that she hadn't actually killed the poor half-blood.
