Work Text:
It’s April of 2023, and Armand and Lestat are weeping in each other’s arms. Louis is confused by the display, then deeply concerned. What could possibly have both his lovers seeking each other? It was obviously not one comforting his lover, it was the both of them, sobbing openly, clung to each other like children. Armand is quiet, and Lestat looks as if he’s about to wail aloud in earnest.
Louis wonders if he should ask or leave them to sort out… Whatever this is.
He decides to leave it to them.
Eventually, as morning grows close, Lestat climbs into their shared bed, wrapping himself fully around Louis. There’s remnants of blood tears in streaks down his hard face. He falls asleep immediately, seemingly tired out from his break down.
As it turns out, everything was going to be all right anyway, and Lestat explains what Louis had witnessed when they awake, pressed close together.
“The Phantom of the Opera is closing on Broadway,” he bemoans, a strange look on his face. “Armand was surprisingly as affected by this as I! It was a horrid night…”
Louis smiles, despite the emotional turmoil Lestat and Armand had clearly felt, just glad it was nothing so serious.
