Summary
For want of a nail, many things may be changed; if a butterfly flaps its wings one micrometer less fully than it otherwise may, a storm never comes to pass. Theorists can expound upon predicting events based on seemingly minor changes, but the infinitely complex nature of reality means that one singular event going differently can snowball into more changes to the course of the future than we may ever guess.
None of that is immediately relevant to the U.A. Entrance Exams, except perhaps that Bakugō Katsuki does not realize a certain "Deku" is in the audience. After all, it has been almost three years since young Midoriya transferred out of Aldera Junior High just as classes were about to start, inspired by a friendship with a singular person...or, is "singular person" at all accurate?
