Chapter Text

It was cold in the pit, a mind numbing biting cold. Body weak and venerable.
She wouldn’t last any longer at this rate.

But when she was pulled out of the desolate darkness; multiple hand like limbs tugged at her dragging her up, up, up.
Reshuffling her bone structure, pulling, pushing, stretching anything they could get their tendrils on.
The ghoulette could feel her bones rearranging in her. Mangling and deforming her until she could no longer recognise herself anymore as she stared down at herself through her sobbing eyes, screaming at the top of her lungs as she struggled against the hold of the cursed limbs. The pain was jarring, shooting up through her body, nerves system crackling to life as her bones, ligaments, organs, face, horns, claws all screamed at her.

Above the screaming ghoulette a bright almost godly light shone upon her, opening up to reveal a different plane of existence.
Before she knew the long the wretched tendrils were replaced with,

warmth?

She was surrounded by a constant warmth. A warmth that wrapped around her entirely, a totally foreign feeling making the ghoulette shiver.
Her tears have long since stopped, stained dry on her cheeks making them uncomfortable. The pain now gone, but still haunted her like a phantom in the dark. Crawling under her skin craving for relief. Her new limbs felt weird, dangling in and bending oddly. A completely foreign body.
The ghoulette’s eyes shot open at the feeling of the rough ground that she now lay on, contrasting the cold depths of the pit. Everything was blurry, but she could tell that she was in a dimly lit room, surrounded by other figures. Other ghouls? They didn’t completely smell like other ghouls in the pit.
She wasn’t sure but being harshly observed like this made her skin crawl with anxiety.

She rabidly blinked to get the murk out of her eyes, making her new eyes adjust to her surroundings. She could sense the presence of another ghoul, just like her. Struggling to get up.
She wanted to talk to him, to ask if he knew what the hell was happening. She tried getting a word out, but was only met with intense throbbing stress at her throat. So she tried again, stressing her newly transformed vocal cords. Letting out another meek noise, sending out a clear message of distress.

Then she was hurriedly wrapped up in a soft material by the strange semi-ghoul smelling creatures. The extremely comfortable material was strange but not unwelcome. The ghoulette leaned into the touch of the material not caring who guided her up and away from the dim room, into another place filled with warmth.

It was addicting, the warmth. Her hear practically singing from it.
It cradled her to a deep sleep with the memory of the other ghoul falling deeper into the depths of her mind to be forgotten.
——-

As the two newly summoned ghouls were swept away from the summoning room, letting Papa, Sister Imperator and the other ghouls to gradually leave the room.
Just as a smaller fire ghoul was about to leave the dark room a hand on his shoulder stoped him. Sodo turned his head around to glare at whoever was stalling him.

“Take it easy ok?” The ghoul who had their hand on the fire ghoul- Swiss, had comforted. Rubbing small circles into Sodo’s shoulder.

“You told me that already.” The smaller deadpanned, glaring at the other goal before shrugging the hand off him and stomping off. Leaving the multi ghoul alone in the dark room, lit only by faint candle light that went out one by one.

“I don’t think you’re going to though,” Swiss muttered, abandoning the summoning room and shutting the door behind him.

——

Faint light darted through the ghoulette’s vision as her eyes fluttered open, to be met with the unfamiliar warmth that bloomed and blossomed all around her. She was in some sort of room with seemingly untouched furniture whilst she lay on the bedding. She couldn’t tell if the warmth was the ‘material’ from before or other ghouls company. Either way the warmth gently caressed her eyes closed making the ghoulette fall into a light sleep.

——

Cirrius and Cumulus settled down on either side of the newly summoned ghoul who slept soundly under the covers.

“Isn’t she cute!” Cumulus quietly squealed, softly running her fingers through the new ghoulette’s hair.
“She’s exhausted, you know how tiering it it it.” Cirrius murmured, supporting her head onto her hand.

“I wonder what her name is?” The shorter air ghoul asked, sagging further down along with the sun.
The new ghoulette flinched and whimpered in her sleep, curling further into herself, as if protecting herself from an unknown threat.
“ I think-…I think she didn’t have a pack, she might have been a runt,” Cirrius uncertainty concluded, the realisation setting heavily in the air ghoul’s chest. Not wanting to think about the horrors the ghoulette had to suffer for who knows how long.

“We’ll giver her a name then.” Cumulus firmly settled, her protectiveness of the new ghoulette steadily growing.

“She’ seemed very bright ,” The two ghoulettes brainstormed, “And she’s a multi ghoul,”
“Starburst?” Cumulus pitched,
“Isn’t that a human candy?”
“Ohh - that’s why it seemed so familiar,” The shorter groaned, leaving the other giggling softly.
The two went back and forth coming up with possible names that the newer ghoulette might like, they finally reached an ideal name.
“What about Aurora?” Cirrus implored, “Like that nature phenomenon we saw on the TV?”
“Oh yea! It’s perfect!”

By the time the two finally concluded, the moon full shone through the windows, moonlight steaming through the open windows.

“Goodnight Aurora.”

——

As Mountain and Rain whisked the newly summoned ghoul into a new room they left Swiss and Sodo alone.
The two ghouls slowly headed to the fire ghoul’s room, Sodo’s shoulders hiked up practically the full embodiment of anger but also curled into himself. While Swiss hung back, giving the other some space he dearly needed.

As they got there the fire ghoul threw himself onto the bed not caring if Swiss came in or not.
Regardless, the multi ghoul invited himself in shutting the door softly and sitting on the bed next to Sodo. The bed dipped at the weight of the ghoul, as he brought his hand up to Sodo’s head. Comfortably comforting the fire ghoul.

“I miss him Swiss, I can’t- I cant even look at the new ghoul without thinking about him,” The fire ghoul whimpered, shoving his face into the pillows showing his rarely seen venerability.

The multi ghoul silently climbed onto the bed, cuddling the other. Inaudibly comforting the fire ghoul as Sodo shuffled to burry his face into Swiss’s chest.

“We’ll take it slow ok? If you don’t want to see him you don’t have to.” Swiss offered, unsure about the consequences that would occur.

The fire ghoul simply nodded, sobs raking through his body.

——

“He’s sweet,” Rain whispered, gazing down at the new sleeping ghoul.
“Indeed he is,” Mountain’s voice rumbled softly.
They had tucked the new ghoul into the warm bed and both lay on either side of him, providing his with warmth and comfort for his recent transformation. The single thought of is made the two older ghouls shiver in dread. The transformation was excruciating, the phantom pain still lingered around sometimes.

“He seems healthy,” The water ghoul murmured, studying the sleeping ghoul’s features.
“Must have been in a pack,” Mountain mused running his hand through the new ghouls hair.

“I hope Sodo is going ok,”
“We’ll make sure his is.”

——

The next time the sun rose the new ghoulette was awoken by the soft sunshine darting through the windows.

Again she was bundled up in this cocoon of warmth, looking around she could feel other bodies wrapped around her. Realising-suddenly the warmth felt too hot, her skin felt to tight, everything that was touching her made her skin heat up and seemingly double in intensity, burning. And being in the middle of two forgein ghoulettes wasn’t helping much.

She wanted off.

In a quick act of desperation the ghoulette squirmed out of the other twos grasp and jumped up. Tripping and clumsily falling off the bed onto the hard ground.
Landing wth a hard thud on her hands and knees, dull pain bloomed. But at least she was free from the burning sensation.

The ghoulette recovered quickly rubbing her arms to see if any damage or burns were actually done. Although her breath was still irregular, her chest hurriedly heaved up and down frantically. Eyes darting around the room she was in, it had a bed-that she was previously on. And a desk? But other than that the room was completely bare.
Curling up on herself the full realisation settled in. Where the fuck was she?

Just as she was about to get up the ghoulette heard shuffling from the bed. Snapping her head in the direction of the noise, pupils dilated and claws out ready to attack any threat that may come.

“Ouy pu teews?” One of the ghoulettes on the bed said sitting up. What ever gibberish came out of that ghoul’s mouth made no sense to her. What language are they speaking in?
The 2 ghouls see to notice her confusion and start talking to each other until the other air ghoulette cleared her throat and began speaking ‘normally’.

“Ok-need, help? Kit?” Through a series of broken clicking and noises it was clear that the two air ghouls were either very bad at speaking ghoulish or very rusty.

“Who-“ The new ghoulette winced at the pain that sparked in her throat area when she spoke. “-Who are you?” The ghoulette finally asks in perfect ghoulish.

“Me- Cirrus, her-“ The ghoulette, Cirrus pointed to the other, “Cumulus.”

“Why am I here?”

——

Rain woke up to the new ghoul still sleeping soundly in-between him and Mountain. With the taller ghoul reading a book whilst curled up behind the new ghoul.

“What do you reckon his name is?”

“Not sure,” Mountain quipped back not taking his eyes off the words in the book.
Used to the earth ghouls bluntness Rain settled back down into the sheets.

But soon enough- the quint began to rouse up. Lashes fluttering up to reveal beautiful lilac eyes. Seemingly comforted but the familiar warmth the ghoul slowly sat up, before fully realising where he was. Remembering the previous events, he froze up as if trying not to wake a starving predator.

Both Rain and Mountain looked at the ghoul, waiting to see what he would do next. Trying to take things slowly so he could get comfortable quickly so they could get him up and practising.

The new ghoul didn’t seem to notice that they were awake and slowly shuffled of the bed, careful not to make a sound.

“Did you sleep alright quint?” Mountain asked suddenly in almost perfect ghoulish.

Hearing the earth ghoul the quint’s shoulders tensed up just as he was about to completely get off the bed. The ghoul’s head slowly turned just enough to eye both of the ghouls in the corner of his eye.

“Where am I?” The quintessinal ghoul firmly asked, trying to appear more menacing in an attempt to scare away who ever these other ghouls were and slowly turning fully so he didn’t have any obvious weak spots.

“Relax,” Rain insisted putting his arms up in surrender. “You’ve been summoned by the celery to spread the word.”

However Rain’s reassurance didn’t seem to calm the quint at all.

“Who are you?!” He asked, voice trembling laced with both anger and fear.

“I am Mountain,” the earth ghoul reassured pointing to himself. “And he is Rain.” The taller ghoul continued now pointing to the water ghoul.

“And we’re here to help you,”

——

“Do you have a name?” Cumulus asked, plopping down into the now more knowledgeable multi ghoulette. The ghoulette took a second to process the question as she was still not completely fluent in English.

“No-no I never needed one..” The ghoulette said thoughtfully, the concept of a name now coming fully to her making her brain hurt and heart twitch. The concept of names haven’t really came into her mind the few weeks she’s been on the topside. Never being asked about it either until now.

“Sooo, me and Cirrus have been thinking,” the air ghoulette playfully indulged, “If it’s ok if we give you a name.”

The multi ghoulette’s eyes widened at the request. They would give her a name? Her very own? Cumulus was radiating warmth at this point and all the ghoulette wanted to do is cuddle up against her and soak up all the warmth. Her heart preened at the thought.
“Really?” She asked, tone coated in disbelief but full of hope, hands trembling.

“What do you think of Aurora?”

———

Warmth, safety, comfort was all Aurora could think about. She was surrounded by it, body nourished by it. Strengthening and healing the ghoulette mental and physical state.

It was addicting.

She was in the centre of a ghoul pile, which she heard from before but never actually been in one. But now being in the centre of one felt amazing, her heart was steadily thumping in her chest sending clear messages to her brain that she was safe and that she would never need to run again.

The warmth made Aurora drowsy, eyelids growing heavy and falling into a peaceful slumber with ghouls that loved her surrounding all around her. A huge contrast to her time in the pit. Falling asleep Aurora ignored the piercing feeling in her chest that someone was missing.

——

Mountain and Rain were in the common room with Swiss and Sodo all doing their own thing. From scrolling on human socials, reading or just lounging around. With Sodo resting his head on Swiss’s lap and Rain leaning against mountains shoulder.

“Hows it going with uh- what his name?” Swiss casually asked, not looking away from his phone. Sodo growled softly at the mention of the other ghoul with Swiss sending comforting circles onto his back.

“Phantoms doing alright,” Rain sighed “Getting used to things I guess. The usual.”

“I’m pretty sure he’s seeping right now.” Mountain added, flipping the page of his book.

“Is it normal for him to stay in his room and sleep all day that much?”

“He’ll be fine,” Sodo drawled pushing away the subject “He’s grown ghoul if there’s a problem he’ll come to you guys about it.”

Swiss sighed, leaning further back into the couch. Brows furrowed in deep though before being interrupted by the fire ghoul.

“I’m getting the girls I wanna ghoul pile,” Sodo gritted out, standing up from the lounge, fists balled up as he dutifully marched of to the ghoulette’s rooms. The fire ghoul’s frustration was evident as all 3 pair’s of eyes followed his out of the room.

“Sodo is right, he had a pack in the pit unlike Aurora, if he needs something he’ll tell us.”

Loud clamouring could be heard from down the hall, seems like Sodo convinced the ghoulettes to come over. Although not fully acquainted with Aurora they were all exited meet her.

——

“Ah Aurora!” A man in what seemed to be face paint happily approached the ghoulette. Although he had a bright personality he held himself with anxiousness, fingers fiddling either the end of his jacket.

“It’s a please to finally formally meet you!” The man there his arms up slightly then reaching to shake Aurora’s hand.

“Nice-Nice to meet you to sir!” Aurora greeted back brightly, she didn’t know what it was but this man had this certain aura around him that made his so friendly and approachable compared to the other members of the ministry Aurora had bumped into.

“You can call me Papa, or just Copia,” Papa- the man who’s mismatched seemed to twinkle while looking into Aurora’s own.

“Now Auroa have the other ghouls shown you your instrument you’ll be playing?”

——

After the encounter with Papa Aurora has been seeing him a lot recently. If it was at band practise or him talking with the other ghouls or brothers and sisters of sin. Sometimes he would hold conversations with her, about pretty much about anything. From the life in the ministry, how the tours will be or have been to random things like hobbyss or random little things. Those conversations, Aurora held deep in her heart. As warmth radiated off the pope, leaving Aurora to bask in its presence welcomingly .

Along with practising her instrument- multiple actually. But Aurora picked it up quickly proving to be a musical genius. Band practise got a lot more fun.

For the first time Aurora felt free, the coldness was gone for what seemed to be forever, she was surrounded by people that cared about her. What more could she want?

Maybe to get rid of that nagging feeling that tugged at the heart and brain every once in a while. She felt like she was forgetting something or …someone. But Aurora would get caught up so much in the warmth it distracted her from that feeling. Maybe it was better if she ignore it or now…
