Work Text:
“Are you any good?” Taehyung glared at the clumsy barista who was struggling to get coins into the cash register.
“U-uh, sorry?” He looked up at the man through his curly bangs after successfully getting the money in.
“Are you any good? You’re not a they/them.” Taehyung just recently switched to a different cafe after the one he’s been going to for years shut down. The only people who could get his orders right were non binary people or those sweet girls with dyed hair. As far as he could tell, this barista was neither.
“Uh, no I’m not.” The barista blinked in confusion. Not only was the man’s speech pattern a bit off but he was also very well dressed, looking too well off to be in a small cafe like this. He also happened to be very handsome so he decided to ignore the rude tone and put on his customer service smile. “I promise I’m good at what I do. What can I get for you this morning, sir?”
“Hm, I don’t want you to waste my time.” Taehyung glanced down at his watch and sighed. He wasn’t in a rush to get to work but he had a set schedule to drink his coffee every morning at 8 am on the dot. “Alright, listen. Large chai latte, 2 pumps of white mocha, 2 pumps of brown sugar, oat milk, sweet cream cold foam, caramel drizzle, no dome lid, and cup sleeve. Taehyung for the name.
“Hm, will that be all for you-“
“Repeat it to me.”
“Large chai latte, 2 pumps of white mocha, 2 pumps of brown sugar, oat milk, sweet cream cold foam, caramel drizzle, no dome lid, and a cup sleeve, that’s all for Taehyung, is that right?”
Taehyung cleared his throat when he felt the eyes of the barista, scanning his body with a grin that wouldn’t leave his face. Was he checking him out?
“Correct. That’ll be all.” He cleared his throat, tapping his card on the machine. He watched the barista’s every move from over the counter. It was a small cafe, he was the only one there so early in the morning so he wasn’t bothering anyone.
Except Jungkook.
“Are you just gonna stand there and watch me?” Jungkook chuckled when he saw Taehyung stand there with his arms crossed.
“Yes. Is that a problem? Does that make you nervous? Nervous enough to mess up my drink?”
“No.” Jungkook smirked. “You could say I like feeling your eyes on me.”
Taehyung only scoffed at the suggestive comment. How dare he so casually flirt with him? Did he know who he was? Kim Taehyung, Ceo of thv attorney at law and he was just a mere barista working for minimum wage…with very cute big doe eyes.
“Here you go, sir.” He slid his drink across the counter. Taehyung kept his eyes focused on him as he hastily grabbed the drink and took a sip.
“…Not bad.” He let the flavour on his tongue, trying to come to some conclusion. “I’ll be stopping here more often. Don’t fuck it up.”
“Mhm..have a good day handsome.”
Another scoff slipped past Taehyung’s lips. This guy was absolutely shameless. It was trying to flirt at least be a little subtle with him. Taehyung didn’t bother to leave him a tip, he just turned on his heels and left.
—
As Taehyung got to work all his employees cowered in fear—some running off to hide and others who stopped what they were doing to bow in respect as he passed by. He was well-feared. Just a simple look with his intimidating gaze left some people pissing in their pants.
He was extremely hardworking, everything he did had to be perfect and he expected no less from his employees so it was quite easy to piss him off. When someone’s fired everyone on the floor would know after hearing the man raise his voice and the sound of an ex-employee’s cries as they left the office.
It was hard to please him, everything had to be up to his standard and it sounded a bit strict but that’s how his business thrives. If he could make clones of himself to make sure everyone got the job done, he wouldn’t hesitate to do so and fire every single person who had a contract with him.
The only person he could really see on his level was Yoongi, the cfo of his business who he went to high school and university with. He was the only one in the building who wasn’t terrified of him.
“How are you sure someone is flirting with you?” Taehyung stopped by Yoongi’s office before he got to his own.
“Good morning.”
“Good morning.” Taehyung rolled his eyes, taking a seat across from him. “How do I know when someone’s flirting with me? You’re married you should know.”
“Why? Someone was flirting with you?” Yoongi was in a state of shock, he almost yelled out. Taehyung didn’t really have a welcoming face. He’d stare at people with cold dead eyes and not even a hint of a smile. Whoever flirted with him has some serious balls.
“I don’t know, that’s why I’m asking.”
“What did they do?”
“First, he was basically undressing me with his eyes then he told me he ‘liked feeling my eyes on him’ whatever that fucking means, and called me handsome. Maybe he was being friendly.”
“Oh no, he definitely wants you.”
“I see..” Taehyung cleared his throat, fiddling with the lid of his cup.
“Are you…” Yoongi leaned closer squinting his eyes at the man who rarely showed any emotion on his face. “Are you blushing? You liked it, didn’t you?”
“Absolutely not. It was unprofessional, not to mention he’s only a barista.”
“Was he a cute barista?”
“I’m not answering that, don’t be ridiculous.” Taehyung was quick to answer but now that he was asked, he started to remember how the barista looked. Curly hair, big brown eyes, a little mole under his lips, tattoos on his arm, and his shirt was even so tight he could see how prominent his chest was. He definitely worked out.
“…You think he’s cute.”
“No.” Taehyung insisted, getting up from his chair. “Now, if you don’t mind, I have work to get done.”
“Alright, handsome.” Yoongi teased as he watched Taehyung leave the room looking more annoyed than he started out with.
As Taehyung walked to his office he noticed something on his cup sleeve written with a Sharpie marker. ‘Crack a little smile, handsome <3’
He stared at it for a while before rolling his eyes and placing it on his desk. He didn’t have time for little shenanigans but he still found himself glancing at it a couple of times throughout the day. No one’s ever written something on his cup for him…or put a heart. It was a weird feeling.
—
The next day he stopped by the cafe again at the same time as yesterday. He thought maybe he’d see another worker but of course, it was him again.
“Mm, good morning handsome, you’re back.” He batted his eyes, giving him a teasing grin.
“I said I would be, be more attentive.”
“Be more cheerful, didn’t you read my note?” He pouted.
“No.” He lied. He wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of it.
“Well, maybe /you/ should be more observant.”
“I don’t have for small talk. I’d like a-“
“Same order again?”
“Never cut me off like that.” Taehyung’s voice suddenly got stern and this was the first time he’s seen someone smirk in response. Not even a flinch? Who was this guy? “Yes the same drink, that’s only if you remember what should be done. Tell me what my order is.”
“Oh, don’t you trust me after I did it perfectly last time?”
“I said ‘not bad’ which is far from perfect.”
“Yeah, yeah grumpy pants. Large chai latte, 2 pumps of white mocha, 2 pumps of brown sugar, oat milk, sweet cream cold foam, caramel drizzle, no dome lid, and cup sleeve.” He held out the card machine for Taehyung.
He was about to tap his card but he quickly stopped himself. “And my name?”
“What? Daddy?” He teased only to see the man’s ears go red. “Joking. Taehyung.”
“…Right.” He paid and avoided eye contact with the bartender for a while until he started making his drink and his eyes were on him again.
Only this time, he wasn’t paying attention to the way he was making his drink. He was more interested in watching his arms and the way his muscles flexed with every move but the barista still managed to look cute and dainty. He’d be caught dead before admitting he was just his type.
“People don’t flirt with you often, huh?”
“Pardon?”
“I just realised every time I flirt with you, you’re not sure how to react.” Jungkook giggled. “It’s a bit cute if I’m being honest.”
“I’m not cute. People don’t flirt and desperately throw themselves at me because they respect me, which is clearly something you don’t know how to do.”
“I can get down on my knees for you and respect you from down there.” He shrugged and Tarhyung’s breath hitched at the very detailed image that just formed in his head. “It can be both.”
“Not in my books.”
“Aww, Mr. Handsome thinks he’s always right, doesn’t he?” He slid the cup to him on the counter.
“You have to be the most annoying person I’ve interacted with.” Taehyung lifted the cup to his lips.
“The most? So you’ve been thinking about me enough to list me at the top?” He leaned over on the counter.
Taehyung decided to ignore his comment. “It’s good.”
“Good? That’s better than not bad.”
“Don’t get cocky, a monkey could make a simple cup of coffee. Now I don’t know if I mentioned this before but I don’t like small talk.”
“And here you are talking to me?” He smiled softly. “Have a good day, handsome.”
Taehyung only scoffed before walking away. It was only when he went to work, he realised the little note on his cup under his name. ‘Gold looks good on you ;)’
It wasn’t really a big deal, Taehyung’s tie was gold, it was just a little small detail but it managed to make him smile. He took pride in his appearance so of course, he took his time choosing out his tie every day…and someone noticed.
“You’re smiling.” He heard and quickly looked up from his cup. It was just Yoongi messing with him. “Cute barista again?”
“No.” He quickly denied it but wasn’t quick enough to stop Yoongi from grabbing the cup to read the little note.
“Oh, he’s flirting with you.” Yoongi teased, putting the cup back on his table.
“He basically just said he likes my tie.” He shrugged.
“No, no, you didn’t read it properly. ‘Gold looks good on you’.” Yoongi repeated in a fake seductive voice.
“Oh, shut up.” Taehyung blushed. “I’m sure he’s a college student, I’m about seven years older.”
“So, he’s into dilfs? And you’re /clearly/ into him.”
“I’m not.” Even if he was, he hadn’t flirted or been on a date in /years/, he’d make a fool of himself in front of a young guy like Jungkook.
“Come on, be honest with me. Is he cute?”
“He is.” He admitted. There was no doubt there. “But I’m not into him. He’s annoying and loud and doesn’t understand the basic concept of boundaries.”
“And you can’t stop talking about him?” He cocked an eyebrow.
“Oh, shut up.”
—
It continued for days, he’d go to that same cafe and the barista would get on his last nerves before leaving a little note on his cup.
‘Made you smile today’ when he finally made Taehyung crack a smile.
‘You remembered my name’ when Taehyung finally said ‘Good morning, Jungkook’.
It kept going and as much as Taehyung pretended to be his normal nonchalant self, he enjoyed the attention he gave him. He’d go to work..with a smile on his face. His employees were a bit terrified, to say the least. Their boss was smiling, laughing, and even speaking to them in a gentle tone. Everyone was confused of course, except Yoongi.
Taehyung denied it every single time, though he even found himself at the cafe on a Saturday morning. He never goes on Saturdays but rather than admitting he was looking for Jungkook, he told himself he just ‘felt in the mood for a drink’.
He sat in the corner of the cafe for hours and there was still no sight of him so he put his pride aside and approached the counter.
“Is Jungkook not here today?”
“Jungkook?” The barista questioned. “Oh he doesn’t work on weekends, he’ll be back on Monday.”
“I see.” He muttered before sighing softly. His day was ruined. His drink wasn’t even done properly…it would’ve been if Jungkook was there to make it. Not even a little note on his cup.
He brushed it off, it was no big deal. He’d just see him on Monday but there was a little problem. Yes, Jungkook was there but something was wrong. He wasn’t even smiling.
Taehyung impatiently tapped his foot, waiting for the person in front of him to quickly make their order.
“It says I can get 50% off! Don’t you know how to do your fucking job?” The man yelled.
“Sir, that coupon’s not for this cafe, our system won’t-“
“Get your manager.”
“He’ll tell you the exact same thing.” Jungkook tried to explain.
“Get your manager.” The man commanded before they both heard Taehyung laughing behind him.
“You don’t have enough money to afford a small coffee so you’re taking it out on a kid?”
“If you had a coupon, would you not use it?” The man turned to Taehyung.
“I don’t need to use coupons.” Taehyung shrugged, grabbing the coupon from the man’s hand. “This isn’t Clover’s cafe. If you want your cheap coffee so bad it’s 5 blocks down the street.”
“Oh.” He took back the coupon.
“Yeah, ‘oh’. Stop wasting people’s time.” He watched the man walk away.
“Thanks.” Jungkook muttered.
“That wasn’t for you.” He lied. “I just want my drink, he was taking too damn long.”
“Large chai latte, 2 pumps of white mocha, 2 pumps of brown sugar, oat milk, sweet cream cold foam, caramel drizzle, no dome lid, and a cup sleeve.” He rehearsed Taehyung’s order. “Is that right sir?”
“…What’s wrong with you?” Hearing Jungkook call him ‘sir’ only reminded him of work, this cafe, or Jungkook himself became his little escape from his work life. What happened to ‘handsome’?
“What do you mean? Did I mess up the order?” He asked. Taehyung only stood there staring at him. He didn’t like it.
“When’s your break?”
“Three hours, wh—“ Before Jungkook could finish his sentence, Taehyung walked away and sat by the window. He was confused, Taehyung’s always talking about his strict schedule and what time he had to be a work, he couldn’t understand why he was just sitting there without even ordering his drink.
Jungkook thought he’d eventually get up but he was shocked to see Taehyung scrolling on his phone without a care in the world for three hours.
“What’re you doing?” Jungkook approached him, taking his apron off.
“You’re on your break?” Taehyung glanced up from his phone.
“Yeah, I have one hour.”
He couldn’t help but realise Jungkook was still in a bad mood. “You hungry?”
—
“Thank you.” Jungkook mumbled. He was sitting in Taehyung’s car, his cheeks completely stuffed with the fast food Taehyung bought him. The ceo was trying his best to fight back his smile. “You’re staring..”
“I can’t look at you.” Taehyung shrugged. “You eat like a child, by the way, half the food is on your face.”
“Sorry.” He giggled a bit, wiping his face with a napkin. “Sir-“
“Don’t call me sir.” Taehyung was quick to cut him off. “I’m not at work and I’m not that much older than you.”
“So, what should I call you?” Jungkook looked at him with wide eyes.
“You know…” He avoided eye contact when he felt his face heating up. “Just whatever you usually call me.”
“…Handsome?” A grin grew on Jungkook’s face. “Oh, you like it, don’t you?”
“Someone’s in a better mood, were you just hungry?”
“No.” He sighed. “I might lose my scholarship, I’ve been working so much my grades are slipping. I might have to quit.”
“You can’t!” Taehyung yelled before clearing his throat and lowering his voice. “You need to make my drink every morning.”
“It’s a latte, it’s not rocket science.” Jungkook chuckled. “Literally anyone else can do it.”
“Wrong. Whoever works here on Saturday basically served me piss.” He complained.
“What we’re doing here on Saturday?” He smiled.
“I can’t drink coffee on Saturday now?” Taehyung scoffed. The car filled with silence, Jungkook was waiting for him to fess up but the man didn’t say a word.
“You know, one of my coworkers called me and said a man in a suit was asking for me.”
“Wonder who that could be..”
“You—“
“All of a sudden I’m the only man who wears a suit.”
“Well, to a cafe? Yeah.” Jungkook giggled, a smirk growing on his face as he leaned closer. “You came to look for me, didn’t you?”
“No.” Taehyung gulped. He didn’t know why he suddenly felt nervous at a question like that.
“You likeeee me.”
“No.”
“So tell me why I’m sitting in your car eating food you bought me when you should be at work?”
“You were upset and if you’re upset you won’t make my drink right. So…just…don’t be upset, it’s weird. Anyways, don’t quit your job, I’ll handle everything.”
“..what?” Jungkook’s face heated up.
“What?” Taehyung blinked in confusion when he saw the shock on Jungkook’s face. It was really no big deal to him, he just had to pull a couple of strings.
“So, what do I have to do in return? Suck you off?”
“Pardon?” Taehyung choked. This wasn’t the first time, he knew Jungkook had a tendency to be very straightforward, but now that they were alone in his car…it was different. He silently watched Jungkook tie his hair up and lean closer before smacking his shoulder.
“You really weren’t going to stop me, you fucking perv?!”
“You offered.” Taehyung shrugged with a smug look on his face. “Who am I to turn it down?”
“I’m getting back to work before my boss realises I’ve been gone.” He blushed, quickly opening the door and hopping out of Taehyung’s car when he felt the man’s hand grab him.
“And stop being..don’t be sad anymore, okay?”
“Wow, you really have a way with words, huh? I’ll be fine now thanks to you.”
“It’s nothing, I’ll just pull some strings.”
“No I mean..spending time with you was a lot more fun than I thought it’d be, maybe we can do it again.” The smile slowly great on Jungkook’s face, revealing the mole under his lips and his dimple poking his cheek. “See you tomorrow, handsome.”
Taehyung just shrugged it off before Jungkook shut the door. He watched him walk towards the cafe and wave goodbye one last time.
Taehyung tried to keep composed but he felt himself smiling, a snicker slipped past his lips. He covered his mouth with his hand in embarrassment but he felt proud of himself. /He/ made Jungkook feel better. Him. He actually managed to make someone’s day, not by just throwing money at it but Jungkook actually enjoyed talking to him.
—
Taehyung woke up happy the next day which wasn’t the norm, he was excited to see Jungkook. He made a friend all on his own—at least he could only hope he saw him as a friend.
As soon as he got to the cafe, Jungkook kept staring at him, even while he was making his drink he wouldn’t take his eyes off him. Taehyung touched his face with his hand, wondering if there was something on his face.
“What?” Taehyung was waiting for Jungkook to tease.
“You’re smiling…you look sexy.”
“Oh, shut up.” He scoffed.
“No, I’m serious. Why’re you so happy today?”
“Am I not allowed to be happy?”
“Hm, I guess I’m not used to it, happy looks good on you.”
“…Thanks.” He muttered. “What about you? Are you like uh..yknow also happy?”
“Oh my gosh, have you never asked a person how their day was in your entire life?” Jungkook couldn’t help but laugh at Taehyung’s awkward attempt. It was a bit cute, he was actually trying to be friendly. “Yeah, I’m much better today.”
“And your scholarship?”
“You can relax, I’m not quitting.” He slid Taehyung’s drink on the counter toward him. “What did you say about me? Did you say how much you liked me?”
“Yeah? And so what if I did?”
“…What?” Jungkook’s face heated up when Taehyung leaned closer. He could feel his breath against his lips.
“It’s not as fun when I do it to you, right?” He grinned, grabbing his coffee cup. “Thanks for my drink.”
Taehyung felt so confident, he had his coffee from his favourite barista—his friend and he actually flirted with him. Nothing could kill his spirit except when he looked for his message on his cup and realised there was nothing there. Just his name, not even a smiley face.
Did he do something wrong? Did he completely misread the situation? Did he piss Jungkook off? It was constantly heavy in his mind until he went back to the cafe at lunch—Jungkook’s lunch break.
“What’re you doing here?” Jungkook looked at him cluelessly. “Did you leave something?”
“No, to have lunch together…or was that a one-time thing?”
“I thought it was.” Jungkook stood up with a smile on his face. “I’m glad I was wrong.”
Taehyung played along and they both ordered food to eat in his car together but he was silent…disturbingly so. He ate his food, listening to Jungkook yap, he was still trying to figure out what he did wrong.
“What was the last thing I said?” Jungkook grumbled when he realised Taehyung’s attention was no longer on him.
“Something gay.”
“Lucky guess but you’re the one who wanted to have lunch with me so bad and you’re barely giving me attention.”
“Do you like my attention?”
“Well..” Jungkook blushed. “I like /everyone’s/ attention so yeah I guess that includes you. Whatever.”
“You didn’t put anything on my cup this morning.” Taehyung finally mentioned it.
“I didn’t?”
“Were you mad at me? I know sometimes I can be inconsiderate when I talk so was it something I said?”
“I just forgot.”
“Oh.” Taehyung couldn’t understand why that answer was worse than what he imagined in his head. He just forgot? He forgot about the one thing they had between them since day one. The thing that made his mornings a bit happier?
“Shit, you look like a sad puppy.” Jungkook groaned. “Fine, I forgot cause you distracted me! Y-you were flirting with me,—which you never do, how was I supposed to pay attention to anything but you? And like I told you, you look good when you smile so…maybe just don’t distract me next time.”
The car was completely silent, both of them staring at each other until Taehyung broke the silence with his laughter.
“Oh, I’m fucked.” He whispered to himself.
“What?”
“Nothing, nothing, not worry about it.”
—
“I have a crush on the barista.” Taehyung whispered, walking into Yoongi’s office. He sighed, rubbing his temples as he looked at him for help. “What do I do?
“First, give me your hand.” Yoongi took Taehyung’s hand in his and looked him in the eye before saying. “I told you so.”
Taehyung only rolled his eyes.
“Secondly, ask him out.”
“I’m too old for him, I plucked a grey hair out of my head last week.”
“I was there, that was lint.” Yoongi sighed.
“We don’t know that for sure!” Taehyung groaned. “I don’t know how to flirt like young people do.”
“He’s been flirting with you for weeks just flirt back and see how he reacts.”
“Actually I did flirt back.” He bragged a bit. “Well I tried but he gets all shy when I do that so I think maybe he’s just joking around a bit.”
“Taehyung, just ask him out.”
“No.”
“Ask him out.” Yoongi pushed him. “For the sake of your sanity and every single one of your employees, just fucking ask him out. Ever since you met him, you’ve been happy.”
“…No, I haven’t.” Taehyung muttered. “I’m always happy to be at work.”
“No, it makes you fucking miserable. You’ve been smiling, humming songs, you might as well do a heel click when you walk in.”
“Alright fine.” Taehyung sighed, a smile growing on his face. “If I get rejected, you’re fired.”
“Yeah, yeah, you’ll be thanking me the next time I see you.”
—
Taehyung soon realised he only ever saw Jungkook at the cafe, they’ve never even exchanged numbers and he was busy going on and on about how he had a new friend and… a crush.
“Jungkook?” He muttered as he grabbed his coffee. “We are friends, correct?”
“Why? Do you want to upgrade to sugar daddy?” He cocked an eyebrow. “Y’know I really wouldn’t mind.”
“This is why I never take you seriously.” Taehyung sighed. “Do you even know how old I am?”
“Mm, not a day over 25.”
“Try 30.”
“Damn, you’re so fucking hot.” Jungkook whispered to himself, eyeing him from head to toe.
Taehyung tried to speak but he couldn’t find the words to say. He didn’t know why a comment like that made him flustered when Jungkook always said things like that to him.
“Just…” He cleared his throat. “Are we friends?”
“Yes hyung, we’re friends.” Jungkook smiled. “Why’d you ask?”
“If you laugh at me, I swear I’m never coming back.” Taehyung told him before speaking again. “You’re the second friend I’ve made…ever. So I don’t really know how it works. Do we hang out?”
“Someone’s being cute today.” Jungkook giggled, leaning over the counter. “Well, dearest friend you should have my number so let’s start there.”
“You never gave me your number.”
“Oh yes I did, I put it on your cup once.”
“Yeah, when I could barely tolerate you.” He chuckled.
“Your loss.” He shrugged with a giggle.
Taehyung glanced down at Sharpie marker on the table before forcefully grabbing Jungkook’s arm.
“Hyung!”
“Shhh.” He grabbed the marker and silently wrote his number on Jungkook’s wrist. “Now you have no excuse.”
“Grab me like that again and I’ll moan your name in your ear.”
“Just call me tonight, okay? We can make plans.”
“Wait, make plans?” Jungkook’s eyes lit up with hope. “Really?”
“Yeah. We’re friends, aren’t we?”
Taehyung went home grabbing his phone every five seconds waiting for a text or a call. He knew he was a student with a job so he didn’t mind that he was a little busy. He was close to falling asleep when he heard his phone buzz.
‘Can I come over? I have drinks’
Taehyung stared at his phone for a while. Was he really getting too old? It was 10 pm and Jungkook wanted to hang out? He definitely wasn’t going to turn down the offer so he quickly sent his location and rushed to tidy up
—
It was weird for them to see each other out of their work attire. Rather than Taehyung wearing his normal suit and tie, instead, he was dressed in a casual white shirt and grey sweatpants, his hair was fluffy and but curly. He looked like a normal guy, he looked approachable for the first time.
On the other hand Jungkook…
He had such a boyish face and his long hair was tied up in a cute fashion so Taehyung didn’t expect the outfit he saw when he opened the door for Jungkook. His cropped tank top was transparent with fishnets underneath and his pants sagged low enough for him to see the Calvin Klein waistband peeking out.
“Hey.” He smiled waving a bottle of alcohol in his hand.
“Yeah…hey.” Taehyung couldn’t help himself. His eyes stared straight and Jungkook’s chest before travelling down his body and stopping at the golden waist chain. He knew he worked out but damn, he couldn’t believe what he’d been hiding under his apron.
“You’re not even trying to hide it.” Jungkook laughed when he caught the man’s eyes wondering.
“Shit.” He muttered to himself. “I’m sorry, I guess I’m just not used to seeing you like this. You’re pretty dressed up just to stay at my place for a while.”
“Well, I was actually planning on going to a club, that’s why I’m dressed like this.” Jungkook walked in before Taehyung closed the door behind him. “But..”
“But?”
“But I remember you said you wouldn’t mind hanging out and I guess spending time with you sounded like something I wanted to do more..” He blushed, feeling Taehyung’s eyes on him. He could admit initially he was just flirting for the fun of it but along the way, he found himself really gaining a little crush. It was becoming more obvious, he was a bit anxious that Taehyung would find out.
“Well, I’m glad you changed your mind.” He mumbled, sitting down on the couch. Jungkook’s eyes glanced down at the man’s spread legs and had to laugh to himself. He knew he wasn’t going to be able to make it through the night.
“Seat taken?” He teased a bit.
Taehyung glanced down at his lap before looking back at Jungkook and slightly tilting his head. “No, go ahead.”
“You—“ Jungkook huffed. “It’s only fun when I do it!”
“Do what?” Taehyung grinned. “I was offering you a seat.”
“Oh fuck off.” Jungkook laughed, sitting beside him. “Since when have you gotten so good at flirting?”
“I always have.”
“Not since I met you.”
“Well, not with you…you’re different.”
“Oh? You’ve never flirted with a low-income barista before?”
“Not what I meant.” Taehyung sighed. “Look, I may have been a little harsh when I first met you.“
“Are you like that with everyone?”
“Like what?”
“An asshole.”
“I’m not-“ Taehyung was ready to defend himself before seeing the suspicious look on Jungkook’s face. “Alright, I’m possibly a bit of an asshole but not on purpose. I guess I’ve always been so focused on work that I lost my grip on my social life.”
“What changed?”
“You.” Taehyung’s response was quick, locking eyes with Jungkook.
“Oh.” Was all Jungkook could manage to get out as his face heated up before changing the subject. “Let’s drink! I brought some shot glasses. Let’s play something fun.”
“Like?”
“Truth or drink? If you don’t wanna answer a question, you drink, how’s that sound?”
Taehyung glared at him while he was busy pouring vodka into the shot glasses. He couldn’t imagine the type of questions a drunken Jungkook would ask him but he agreed. Maybe it’d be fun.
“Gosh, I don’t wanna hear the questions you have to ask.” Taehyung sighed to himself.
Jungkook only giggled, scooting closer to him. “You go first.”
“Alright…” He nervously eyed Jungkook. “Are you really into older men or were you just being a little shit?”
“Yeah, I’ve always liked older men. Why’re you asking? Are you testing the waters or something?”
“Oh, two questions?” Taehyung cocked an eyebrow, throwing his head back to take a shot.
“That’s not fair.” Jungkook grumbled, watching him take another shot.
“They were your rules, cutie.”
“Cutie?” Jungkook blushed. He’s already been taking a couple of shots. Taehyung was making him nervous and he needed some liquid courage.
“It’s the alcohol…but yeah, ‘cutie’.” He admitted. Jungkook felt his face heating up as he slowly let himself sink into the couch. Taehyung was actually flirting with him? Well…he was tipsy. “Next question, why don’t you ever wear your hair down.”
“Well, I don’t want my hair in customers' drinks so I have it tied up.” He shrugged.
“You’re not a work right now, are you?”
“Guess not.” He muttered, reaching back to untie his hair. He wore the clip around his wrist and shook his curly hair in place. He tucked the right side behind his ear to clear his vision. “There, now my turn. Do you actually like me?”
“What?” Taehyung blinked.
“Y’know, do you like me? I don’t want you to feel like I’m forcing you to be my friend.”
Taehyung stayed silent for a while before teasingly bringing the glass to his lips. He watched Jungkook’s lips form a pout.
“Of course I like you, you wouldn’t be here if I didn’t.” He told him, taking the shot anyway. “When’s this game getting interesting? Ask me another question.”
“Oh, you want interesting? Favourite position and why, go.”
“I don’t have a favourite.” He shrugged.
“You fucking liar, it’s probably something real filthy huh?”
“I’m serious, I don’t have one.” He laughed.
“Come on.” Jungkook insisted, his voice getting whiny. “I won’t tell. Let’s say…you’re fucking me, how do you want me?”
Taehyung choked at the question, he should’ve known Jungkook wouldn’t hold back when he asked to get things interesting. His answer was pretty vanilla, missionary. As for why, he wanted to see the look on Jungkook’s face when he’s cumming, he wanted to feel him cling onto his back while he chanted his name. He kept silent for a while before taking a shot.
“Why’d you hesitate?-“
“Shh, same question for you.”
“Since I’m not a pussy like you.” Jungkook glared at him. “I like getting on top, bouncing on it makes me cum harder and..sometimes I like being choked and it feels better in that position.”
Taehyung’s ears heated up, turning away from Jungkook for a second. He didn’t expect nor did he need that vivid image in his head.
“Aww, you’re getting shy.” Jungkook teased.
“I’m not.” He mumbled. “I just didn’t expect that. All your questions are gonna be like that, huh? You’ve answered every question, you’re just drinking for fun.”
“I have nothing to hide but you’re having fun…aren’t you?” He nervously asked. The downside of having a thing for older men, Jungkook always felt like he was too childish for them. He was worried maybe this wasn’t Taehyung’s thing.
“Yeah, I’m having fun.” He smiled softly, his speech was starting to slur a bit. The alcohol was already setting in. “That’s a question but I’ll let it slide.”
“What should I ask you?“ Jungkook mumbled to himself. He giggled to himself as he thought of the next question, he was sure he’d drink to this. “Think I could take you?”
“Take me? In a fight?” He asked cluelessly. Jungkook glared at him, waiting for him to grasp the concept of his question. “Oh, fuck, no.”
“No?! Why? Are you rough?” He giggled.
“Mm, and if I am?” He licked his lips, watching Jungkook nervously fumble with his fingers. He was clearly getting flustered and they were only getting closer to each other on the couch. “Look who’s shy now?”
“Shut up, ask your question.”
“Do you like it rough?” Taehyung fired him back with the question. Jungkook quickly grabbed his glass and took a shot. “So, that’s a yes.”
“You know what, my turn. If I gave you full access right now, what would you do to me?”
“…You have to know I’m gonna take a shot. I’m not answering that.” He reached for the glass and Jungkook quickly grabbed his wrist to stop.
“Fuck, can’t you take a hint?”
“I…” Taehyung didn’t want to jump to any conclusions, he /knew/ Jungkook was into this, whatever /this/ was. “I don’t understand.”
“Ask me the same question.”
“Alright, if I gave you full access right now, what would you do to…” His voice trailed off when Jungkook straddled his lap. He had to admit, he panicked for a second for most of their relationship, they hadn’t touched much. Jungkook’s eyes met his, indirectly asking for permission before sliding his hand up his shirt to trace his toned body.
“I’d do more but this is a little example for you.” Jungkook leaned closer, his lips only an inch away from Taehyung’s before speaking. “So, I’ll ask again. If you had full access, what would you do to me? Show me.”
His hand grabbed Jungkook’s waist subconsciously, as he pulled him closer to connect their lips. He could taste the alcohol on his breath, as he pushed Jungkook down on his lap. He felt him grinding his hips on his thigh like he was in heat, softly moaning between their kiss. Taehyung was usually a slow gentle kisser but right now, he was drunk, and he could feel Jungkook’s cock rubbing on his thigh. Their kiss was getting sloppy, something he usually wasn’t into but right now all he could think of was Jungkook—that’s all he wanted.
Jungkook flinched when he felt Taehyung’s teeth softly biting on his lip and his cock twitched in his pants.
“Fuck.” Taehyung pulled away, worrying maybe he hurt him in some way. “Should I stop?”
“Stop? Is that all you’re gonna do to me? Kiss me and let me fuck myself on your thigh?”
“I just want to make sure…fuck, of course I want you.” He breathed out. “Listen, I’m drunk, and you’re just fucking…you’re driving me insane, what if I can’t control myself?”
“You’re still holding back?” Alright, one more time. You have full access to me, I’m giving you it, what would you do to me?”
“Jungkook-“
“Do it, Taehyung.”
“Stand up first.” He muttered. Jungkook slowly got out of his lap and stood on his feet. Before he could stand up straight, he felt Taehyung hand tightly grip his hair, pushing him down to his knees. His breath hitched as Taehyung led him between his legs, rubbing his cock against his face.
“You said you could respect me on your knees?” Taehyung cocked an eyebrow. “Call me sir.”
“S—sir.” Jungkook looked up at him with wide eyes, his whole body burning up. He felt Taehyung hand guiding him to press his face down more, hearing Taehyung groan at the friction.
“Let me fuck your mouth, then we’ll just how pretty you’ll look getting fucked on top of me.”
—
“Oh my gosh.” Was the first thing Jungkook heard when he got to work. He looked behind him wondering what the problem was. His coworker was staring right at him.
“What?”
“You didn’t think to cover those up before you got here.” He pointed to the hickeys on Jungkook’s neck. He blushed in embarrassment, covering it with his hand.
“Fuck, I thought they were faded by now.”
“Hm, is it that guy you’re always flirting with? The one who came looking for you on Saturday and looked like a rejected puppy when I said you weren’t here?”
“Yeah, that’s him.” Jungkook sighed at the mention of him. “I’ll be right back, I’m gonna go cover it up in the bathroom.”
It was Monday morning and Taehyung hadn’t reached out to him since Friday night. He was acting a bit weird when he left Saturday morning but Jungkook thought he was overthinking it. He wasn’t.
He didn’t want to jump to conclusions but his last sign would be whether Taehyung came for his morning drink or not…he didn’t. Jungkook wasn’t the clingy type when it came to hookups but Taehyung was his friend—at least that’s what he said. Not only was he not answering his calls but he wasn’t answering his texts and didn’t have it in him to just block him.
He didn’t want to seem crazy but he had to see him again, just one more time.
—
“Taehyung, someone’s here for you.” Yoongi creaked open the door to Taehyung’s office.
“I don’t have anyone scheduled for today. Tell them to make an appointment and come back at the time we agree on.”
“Actually—“
“Make an appointment?” Jungkook shoved the door open, walking directly to Taehyung before planting his hands down on his desk.
“Jungkook, what the fuck are you-“
“My shift just ended.” He took a deep breath. “Was it really that bad you had to ghost me?”
“Oh shit.” Yoongi gasped lightly, closing the door to give them some privacy.
“Let’s play drink or truth again.” Taehyung stood up and pulled Jungkook closer.
“I’m not playing around.”
“Neither am I. I don’t keep alcohol in my office so just truth, okay? Do you regret sleeping with me?”
“What? No, I-“
“Now ask me.”
“Do you regret sleeping with me?”
“Yes.” He answered bluntly. He watched Jungkook turn to leave but managed to pull him back and cage him between his arms. “Did I enjoy every second of it? Yes, but I was drunk. I was so drunk that I forgot I wanted to take you on a date before going all the way.”
“Take me on a date?” Jungkook blushed. “Really?”
“I know you just wanted a quick fuck but I…I can’t believe I’m saying this, I don’t want anything casual with you, I’m sorry I can’t do that. I’m always gonna want more, I wanna kiss you, take you on a date while we hold hands, and all the weird cute couple things and I know you don’t want that.”
“Says who?”
“Well…I don’t know, I thought you wouldn’t want that with me.” Taehyung shrugged.
“You think I don’t like you?” Jungkook giggled when he caught Taehyung blushing. “Why didn’t you ask instead of ignore me?”
“I’m sorry if I don’t want to get rejected to my face. I’d rather-“ His eyes widened when Jungkook grabbed his collar and pulled him in for a kiss and he made no effort to stop him.
“You’re so oblivious, it drives me insane. I like you Taehyung, I like you! Okay?”
“Yeah, okay.” Taehyung whispered, nodding his head. “I like you too.”
“Dinner Saturday night, okay?”
“Okay.” Taehyung’s smile got bigger. “Say you like me one more time, baby.”
“Don’t—“ Jungkook blushed, backing away when he heard the pet name.
“Don’t call you baby?” Taehyung teased.
“No! Just…” He took a deep breath. “I really like you, there. If you ghost me one more time, I swear—“
“What? You’re gonna get on top of me again, beg me to cum in you?” He smirked. “Mm, I’m so scared.”
“When’d you get so good at making me blush?”
“Learnt from the best.”
