Sakaar was a place for anyone and everyone. It didn't matter your race, looks, personality, gender, or sexuality. And especially your background. The moment that you find yourself in this "trash" plant. You could completely forget who you were.
There was a little something for everyone that happened to literally drop in.This fact also applied to Loki.
He realizes that no one gave two shits about him or his past life, as a god, or what he did in 2012 in New York. He also had a chance to escape the hold Thanos had on him... He had a chance to rebuild himself, to heal. And he took that opportunity the first chance he got.
