Summary
Luke and Aemond marry to stop a political crisis. Twelve years and five children later, Luke asks Jace to watch the kids for the first time.
Jace waves a hand at him, at his sallow complexion, his thin cheeks. “You look like you’re going to fall over, and you won’t tell me where you’re going—”
Luke says, stiffly, “I will be back tomorrow afternoon. My phone will be on. If anything changes, if anything happens with the kids, text me, call me. Call Aemond.”
“I’m pretty sure he has me blocked.” No, that’s not accurate; he knows Aemond has him blocked. The last time they talked was five years ago, Jace on his sixth drink with Baela and Rhaena and in the middle of explaining in a series of poetic texts exactly what he thought of his brother-in-law when Aemond sent back, He’s never leaving me. And, Stop this, or I will block you Jacaerys. And of course, Jace hadn’t.
