Chapter Text

“Fuck, I really miss you.”

Logan couldn’t respond, Wade raised a fucking army for him and stood at the X-Men’s doorstep.

For him

“Like, really miss you thought of you as I fell asleep—not in a freaky way! Oh, and Dogpool is back, She misses her papa too, the girl right next to me actually stole her"

Wade moved the camera into view of domino for a second. “Still pissed about that,” she shrugged at his words.

A whole army just for him, someone cared enough about him to raise an entire army and threaten the X-Men.

The feeling was so specific that Logan couldn’t describe it.

“Once I get you out, I’ll take you on a date or something. Ice skating sound fun?"

Logan wanted to jump through the screen and wrap his arms so tight around Wade that they would never be separated again.

Logan thought he knew how much he longed for Wade, but this was nothing in comparison, right now it physically hurt not to be with him.

Wade was about to talk again, but Scott interrupted. At least it wasn’t his face, but the sound of his voice still put Logan on edge.

“Logan will be released after a month of therapy, leave now and we will forgive your actions.”

Wade started laughing hard, biting his lip to stop the action. “I don’t think you understand, Lazer fuck. I’m taking Logan now, or you're going to regret it.”

Wade’s voice did a complete 360 compared to how he talked to Logan.

This Wade was rough and violent, desperate, similar to the man Logan first met at the bar and for half the trip to save the world.

A desperate animal fighting for the last scrap

“Logan is not at the mansion, please reconsider.” Scott sighed, seemingly fed up with this.

Logan was correct about not being at the mansion.

“Then where the fuck is he at? I’m not playing with you.” Wade clenched his teeth.

Logan should tell Wade to stop to let him wait out the month of therapy because logically that would be the safest bet.

But selfishly, Logan reeled in the fact that Wade was taking up such a stand on his part.

“He’s safe and sound. Call back your army, and I’ll take him to you to visit him until he can leave.”

Wade scoffed at the audacity "Really?”

H wore a shit eating grin now "I don’t think you understand what you're dealing with.”

Wade reached into a pouch and came out with a gold ring. “Doctor Strange ring, bitch!”

Wade showed it off to the camera. “Pretty cool, right, Kitty?”

Holy shit Logan shouldn’t be surprised, but he was, It made him finally find his voice “Wade.”

Wade smiled at his name “I missed your voice. Glad you found it.”

“Wade Wilson, give us the ring and step down.” Scott sounded much more panicked than before.

“I’m obviously not going to do that.” Wade huffed out

Domino tapped on his shoulder. “When did you get that?”

So Wade’s partner in crime didn’t even know he had it. “Oh, uh, sometime while saving the world, no big deal.” Wade waved a hand to dismiss it.

“I’ll ask one more time before releasing a bunch of alternate versions of myself and the army, okay? 1. . . ."

Wade blew a kiss at the camera before handing it to Domino, who switched the camera around.

“X-Men, get ready.” Scott said so quietly that the camera barely picked it up.

Wade set the machine gun down and started to do the swirling magic portal thing. “2…”

Even if they fought to the death, it wouldn’t do real good in the long run. Wade and Logan would be hunted down until they outlived everyone else.

I guess that was a chance Wade was willing to make for him.

But that wasn’t a chance Logan was going to take for Wade, whose whole life on the run would cause him to miss all the life spans of his mortal friends.

“Wade, stop! I signed the contract. I’m doing the therapy.” The contract really meant shit in this situation, but whatever.

A pin could have dropped from how silent it got. Logan was glad Wade couldn’t see him.

Wade’s hands froze mid-handspin, the spark disappearing, turning his head to the phone direction.

“Even if we get away—“ Logan tried

Wade interrupted him. “-you mean we would get away”

Logan huffed, “Wade, if we go on the run for 100 years or so until everyone who gives a shit dies that also means you miss the rest of your friends lives.”

Wade’s shoulder rose and fell hard, hesitating like he didn’t want to come face to face with that fact. “I know…”

Logan knew how much Wade’s friends meant to him. I mean, fuck, that was the whole reason Logan even met Wade in the first place.

“But I know how much of a trigger these guys are—they picked apart your brain apparently- Logan you're important to me too.”

The words slashed deep and were now engraved permanently

“I’ll figure something out, Logan. I always do.”

Logan was now acutely aware of the grand audience that held around them not the best circumstances to discuss a plan.

“Let’s do something with a guarantee of you being with your friends, bub.”

Wade still didn’t move his hand from the air, ready to resume at any moment. “Just say the word peanut, I’ll fuck 'em all up and get you.”

Wade was going to risk the chance of having to leave his friends behind for Logan, that statement was made clear.

“How about you get in the car with Cyclospe and let him take you there?” Saying his name felt like eating hot coals.

Wade groaned and then plopped the ring back where he got it. “I was so looking forward to using this machine gun" He picked it back up with one big sigh.

“Kay fuckers- party’s over.” Wade shot the gun into the sky once before trotting forward, waving at the camera, “Bye bye, peanut see you soon.”

The doctor in front of Logan hung up the phone with a sigh, telling Logan to stay here and that he will be back soon.

Logan wandered to the edge of the bed and plopped down. Yesterday he thought Wade had forgotten about him.

And now he learned that Wade was willing to risk seeing the rest of his friend's life for him.

Raising an army

Logan didn’t have much to get ready with, no extra clothes to bedazzle himself up.

Just some sweats and a t-shirt

Wade was coming to see him right fucking now.

—Switch to Wade's POV.

Wade carried the machine gun, skipping as he stood right in front of Cyclops and his team. “You’re lucky my Wolvie doesn’t want me to see if your lasers can disintegrate my bullets fast enough.”

Cyclops's jaw tensed, and his teammates did not seem in a jolly mood at his words. Either way, Wade didn’t care.

“I’ll drive you there, but your weapons can’t come.”

Of course they would request that “if I was planning on using them, I would by now.”

“Fine, just leave the machine gun.”

Pouting, Wade placed the gun on the ground, petting the top of it and giving it a kiss. “I’ll come back for you baby, we’ll kick ass together some day.”

Cyclopse led Wade to a car, and they started to drive in awkward tension.

“So what memories did you look at?”

“I didn’t look at any memories.” Scott corrected voice tense

“What did you see?”

Cyclopse didn’t respond, clamping the steering wheel tighter. “Do you blame me?”

“For what?” Wade said, tapping the glass, watching the trees flash by.

“For hunting Logan down”

Wade breathed out and in

from Cyclops's point of view, Logan randomly appeared alive, exact looks, exact voice.

Of course he would try to find out why his dead friend all of a sudden was back or had a duplicate all of a sudden.

“To a certain point,” Wade admitted.

Cyclopse hummed in response, “If I knew how much being around us—being around me—affected him…"

Cyclopse seemed to silence himself “I would have done a few things differently.”

“So where is Logan?”

“At our mutant recovery

The rest of the car ride was quiet, other than Wade messing with the radio and turning the seat heater off and on.

Wade thought of a few plans that would most likely work, grab Logan use the magic ring thing and disappeared.

But that would be going against logans wishes. The trees got denser and denser until a lab-like structure appeared.

Before the car was fully stopped, Wade opened the door and stood out. Logan was here. Logan was somewhere in that building.

Scott got out and just looked Wade over once before walking to the entrance.

Guards, many of them with guns in resting positions, until they saw us tensing but relaxing as Cyclops raised a hand

“You have the room prepared?” He said

Wade didn’t like the anonymous vibe of ‘the room.’

The room could mean a lot of things. The guards replied with a 'yes sir' and finally, Wade had to shake down all his weapons. Let’s just say there was a decent pile.

But he refused to give up the ring, who knew what these fuckers would do with it?

Cyclops handed him off to someone else because he couldn’t see Logan himself.

“Interesting job you have,” Wade said, observing the blank walls.

“It’s alright, it’s nice to help people recover.” Wade didn’t expect him to respond.

A scream sounded from a door Wade passed. “Fuck, he does not sound happy.”

“Nightmares are common here,” the doctor dude shrugged, and he went to open a door in front of him.

Claws shot out the door, and the guy just barely by an inch missed death, he backed up fast, almost falling on his ass as the door fell down.

Logan, in all his sweaty glory, claws out, standing on the fallen door, eyes locked hard with Wade

The world stopped spinning.

Wade thought he moved fast, but in comparison to Logan, he was slow

Logan sprinted full force forward, just barely managing to sink his claws in before tackling Wade to the ground in a hug.

Wade couldn’t give two shits that the wind was knocked out of him and that his spine was probably broken, hands hugging Logan back tight.

3 months of emotions slammed hard into Wade’s brain every night, every morning, wondering if Logan was okay.

Yeah, wade was crying, he couldn’t help it, thankfull the mask hid it

Logan was breathing hard, nose right against Wade's neck, hands flexing hard.

“Missed you too, peanut…” Wade whispered.

“Do you still want me to play nice? They took all my weapons, but I still have the ring... And baby knife up my ass"

That actually made Logan very quietly laugh Wade only heard it because he was so close “You’re fuckin crazy.”

His voice was so much better to hear in person. “That’s why you like me so much,” Wade lightly said back.

Logan’s body weight was a comfort, anchoring him down. Logan only grumbled in response but didn't deny it score!!!

“Didn’t expect you to break the door down.” and it was true Wade didn’t expect Logan to go full Hulk and tackle him.

Not that he was complaining at all, actually, the opposite, Wade loved that Logan missed him so much.

The doctor dude that barely escaped death earlier gave a cough. “Let’s move this to the room…?”

Buddy sounded like he was going to piss his little doctor pant's and no this is still not a water sports fanfic

Doctor-dude- buddy started to click his necklace for backup or assistances

“Okay, okay, into the room we go, even though you can clearly tell we're having a moment.”

Wade managed to get Logan off him to stand, going into the room and plopping down on the couch.

Logan was acting like his shadow, standing so close to him, and now sitting so close, Wade was happy, but it was also a reason for concern.

What happened to Logan to make him so scared?

No- that wasn’t the word… but something just wasn’t right. Was Logan really that messed up just from seeing the X-Men?

Wade knew it was bad but not this bad. Logan barely talked about it, so he had very little information. “I’m sorry for taking so long, Peanut.”

Guilt took control, Logan probably went through hell to end up like this and what was Wade doing? Playing uno

“You're here now.” Logan bit out, eyes trailing over Wade’s exposed mouth and jaw

“Wish I came quicker" Wade admitted still feeling guilty even if he knew deep down he tried his best.

"That's what she said" and it was so unexpected from Logan's mouth that Wade froze and then smiled.

Logan just tried to cheer him up when it was clear that Logan was the one who needed the cheering up himself.

fuck the dude in the room, fuck the x-men.

and Logan obviously had the same idea as Wade, because they both leaned in with a hungry kiss, grabbing onto each other's faces and shoulder's.
