Work Text:
"Well someone is looking extra handsome tonight," Eddie says, when he opens his front door to find Buck in a pair of black trousers and a pale pink dress shirt. Eddie lets his eyes roam openly over Buck"s form before he finally looks at his face, which is bright red and his eyes are wide, his mouth opening and closing like a fish. Chuckling Eddie grabs his keys and steps outside, closing the door behind him. Buck never moved, so they are now chest to chest, which means Eddie can finally wrap his arms around him and kiss him.
Buck pulls him even closer so Eddie actually has to rise up on his toes to continue kissing him. When they pull apart again, Buck"s cheeks are still scarlet. Something that Eddie has been very happy to discover is the fact that Buck cannot take a compliment, or at least not from Eddie. "Ready to show me a good time, guapo," Eddie says, taking Buck"s hand and dragging him over to the truck.
"Yep, why do you think I told you to dress up," Buck says, but before he rounds the car he gives Eddie the same look he"d given Buck. He knows he"s smirking, but Eddie feels like it"s allowed, considering he knows he looks good. Eddie may or may not have chosen the turtle neck that he wore at the poker game, because he knows how much Buck loves it. That much became apparent with the way Buck all but tore it off Eddie as they made their way inside when they got home. It had not been easy for Buck, because neither of them had been all that willing to stop kissing once they"d finally found out what that feels like.
Eddie spends their entire dinner flirting shamelessly with Buck, just so he can see him get all flustered and red. He doesn"t stop when they get back in the car either, but he has barely opened his car door, before Buck is there, claiming his mouth with his own. Buck picks Eddie up and carries him into the house, not that Eddie is complaining when he gets to wrap his legs around Buck and unbotton his shirt without having to worry about stumbling over his own feet.
When they get to the bed Buck literally throws Eddie on it, so he can unbotton the ones Eddie couldn"t reach and take it off. Eddie doesn"t bother with his own clothes, knowing how much Buck loves doing it for him. "Stop it, Eddie," Buck groans even as he"s unbuckling his belt.
"Stop what, gorgeous?" Buck face is red again when he finally looks at Eddie again.
Buck rolls his eyes, but there is a shy smile tugging at his mouth. "Forget it," he mumbles before crawling on top of Eddie and kissing him till neither of them can breathe.

"Well, well, well," Hen says not even attempting to hide the teasing in her tone. Buck flips her off as he walks over to the coffee pot, pouring a cup for himself and Eddie who"s walking up behind him.
"Thank you, pretty boy," Eddie whispers over the lip of his mug, winking at Buck who just stands there with his hand outstretched. It takes Buck nearly a minute before he joins the rest of them at the table.
Hen looks at Buck expentantly, so much so that Buck actually rises up to check if she"s out of coffee. She just reaches out and smacks him lightly on the head, before she says, "When were you going to tell us that you are seeing someone?"
"Who"s seeing someone?" Chimney asks from the top of the stairs.
When Ravi walks past he tugs a finger in Buck"s collar and says in just as teasing a tone as Hen"s, "I think Buck is." Buck slaps his hand away while trying to pull his collar back up so it"ll hide the marks that litter his skin just below it.
Eddie smirks, nudging Buck"s leg with his foot under the table. "So, who"s this lucky lucky person?" none of the others give a damn what Eddie is doing, because they are all watching Buck, who is getting more and more red by the second.
"Someone who is going to pay for this when I get my hands on them," Buck grits out between clenched teeth after slapping Eddie"s shoulder.
They get called out to an old lady who"d fallen and broken her hip. While Hen and Chimney assess her and get her ready for transport, Buck and Eddie are tasked with distracting her.
Buck takes her hand, smiling down at her in that disarming way he has perfect over the years, "Hi, I"m Buck, what"s your name?"
"Mary."
"Hello Mary, this is my partner Eddie," Mary turns her head to where Eddie is taking her other hand.
Even through her pain the old woman manages to smile at them with a glint in her eyes they both know all too well. "Oh this must be my lucky day for me to get such handsome firefighters helping little old me."
"Tell me about it," Eddie says, rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand, "can you imagine how distracting working with him can be?" Mary laughs at him before agreeing, while Buck starts making sounds of protest.
"Are you married, dear?" Mary asks a still flustered Buck.
"N-n-no, I"m not," Buck sneaks a very quick look at Eddie, who had not thought this through, because now Eddie is faced with a Buck that is trying his very best to hide just how much he wishes he had a different answer.
Mary pulls her hand out of Buck"s so she can clap him on the cheek, "Don"t worry, a man as handsome and sweet as you will find a wife in no time." Eddie has to cough in order to cover his laughter, not only at the assumption but also at the look on Buck"s face.
"Okay, Mary," Hen says, getting everyone"s attention, "we"re ready to go, so ease up on our boy, he"s working on it."
As the others load Mary onto the ambulance Eddie drags Buck out of sight behind the truck. They steal a couple kisses before Eddie leans his forehead against Buck"s and whispers, "I"ll be one lucky wife."
"Oh, fuck off," Buck says through his laughter, pulling Eddie closer as he leans back against the truck. "I"m the one doing all the cooking, so if we wanna play the stereotype game, then I"ll be the wife in this relationship," Eddie laughs so hard that it"s a good thing he"s in Buck arms, because he can barely keep himself standing.

"So, has he told you who is leaving marks up and down his neck?" Karen asks from beside Eddie, where the two of them are watching Buck and Hen playing with Jee-Yun, who is running around Bobby and Athena"s backyard laughing loudly.
Eddie has to bite down on his lip to try and restrain his smile, because up and down his neck is not an understatement. There are hickeys on several spots on Buck"s neck, even one under his ear that Eddie is quite proud of, because he has truly never seen Buck look more dazed than when Eddie had pulled back after making it.
"Nah," Eddie shrugs, much to Karen"s obvious disappointment, "he"ll tell me when he"s ready."
Before either of them can say another word Jee-Yun runs straight at Eddie who catches her just as she jumps in his arms. She"s squealing happily as Buck stops right before them, "Oh that"s not fair."
"Eddie is safe," Jee-Yun laughs and hides her face in Eddie"s neck.
Buck is smiling at her, running a hand over her hair. Eddie adjusts her so she"s sitting on his hip, "Having fun with uncle Buck?" she nods into his neck. Then he whispers loudly in her ear, "I"ll distract him and you run." Jee-Yun pulls back, mischief written all over her face as she nods. Eddie puts her down and turns to Buck.
His eyes narrow as he looks between Eddie and his niece. "What are you planning?"
"Oh, nothing," Eddie says in a fake innocent tone, Jee-Yun still half-hiding behind his leg, so Buck can"t reach her. "Have I ever told you how great you are with kids?" the flush is immediate so Eddie keeps going, "Because you are. Honestly you"re a natural at it, but of course you"re a natural at making people happy," Buck is just staring at Eddie, so Eddie taps Jee-Yun"s head, "making them feel safe."
Jee-Yun runs around Eddie and right past Buck, who only realises once she"s completely out of reach. He turns and runs after her, shouting over his shoulder, "You"re a cruel man, Diaz."
Two hands slap Eddie"s arm. He turns to find Hen and Karen staring at him with understanding dawning on their faces. "What?" Eddie asks, hoping that he"ll be able to play it off.
"Did you just flirt with Buck? Openly? In front of people?" Hen asks, hitting him again, one for each question.
Eddie steps away and out of her reach, rubbing his arm because Hen has a concerningly good aim. "First of all, ow, and second of all, Buck is incapable of accepting a compliment and it is just a little too funny to see his mind go blank, and third of all, I was helping Jee." Neither of them seem convinced, but Eddie is saved from having to say anything more by Buck running past them with a squealing Jee-Yun over his shoulder.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buck and Eddie are the only ones awake yet, so they are enjoying being able to cuddle up together on the couch at the loft. "What are you thinking about?" Buck mumbles into Eddie"s hair, where it"s resting on his shoulder. They"re lying down, so Eddie just stays where he is, soaking up all of Buck"s warmth.
"I want to tell them."
"Really?" God Eddie hates how hopeful Buck sounds, because he knows that he is the only reason that they haven"t. Eddie just needed more time, and Buck being Buck told him that he would wait for as long as Eddie needed.
Eddie tangles his fingers with Buck"s, so he has something to focus on that isn"t the wall. "Yeah, I mean don"t get me wrong, it has been great watching them tease the hell out of you, and let"s not forget how hot it"s been sneaking around like a couple of teenagers," Buck chuckles above him and kisses the top of his head, "but I want to tell them, I wanna show off, how I have somehow managed to bag the best partner out of all of us."
Buck doesn"t answer him, he just places a finger under Eddie"s chin so he can tilt his head back and kiss him. Just before their lips touch Eddie sees that flush again, sees that shy smile which makes his stomach flip.
"I fucking knew it!" Hen half shouts from where she, Chimney, Ravi and Bobby are standing. Eddie is the only one who can see them, but the look on Buck"s face tells him that he is fully aware that Hen is not the only person watching them.
Bobby just walks into the kitchen and grabs the biggest cup in the cabinet, fills it to the brim with coffee and then seems to drain at least half of it. The rest are still by the stairs, so Eddie just kisses Buck one last time and then gets to his feet.
"Well at least now you know that I won the partner game," Eddie smirks as he joins Bobby in the kitchen.
Several sounds of protest come from the others (inclueding Buck), but it doesn"t really matter, because Eddie knows he"s right. That much is proven, when he catches Buck"s eyes, where there is more love than Eddie knows what to do with on a good day.
As they drive home, Buck tries valiantly to convince Eddie that Buck has the better partner, but all he really does is tell Eddie all the things he loves about him, which Eddie feels just proves his point, but he lets Buck talk anyway.
