Chapter Text
The moment Ezio and I walk through the door of Sister Teodora’s, chaos ensues. The sight of a courtesan-dressed woman stained in blood with murder in her eyes turns many of the patron men off, resulting in them pushing away their nightly entertainment and scurrying out the door. Ezio is frantically trying to calm me down while waiting for Amelia.
Unfortunately, the perpetrator is there with a smile on his face. It dies the moment he clocks my eyes. “Signoria…what's the matter?” he stutters before his dagger makes contact with the wall behind him, slightly tinged red. A warm feeling slowly start to trickle from the bottom of his ear and his brain starts to recognize the pain and blood.
“You killed my brother. Now you die.” My voice is ice and my stare is death. The boy, now my prey, back ever so slowly away from me, “Signoria, please…please I didn’t know. I saw the uniform and just-” A loud crack slices the air cutting off his sentence. His head snapped to the size and already turning red. “You are lucky I hear her footsteps” I growl threateningly.
“Amore…come to bed” Amelia pleads. She knew I’d realise its her behind me. She learnt early on you can’t sneak up on me. Amelia’s arm slide around my waist, her perfume fills my senses, and I calm.
We turn and walk silently to her room. The moment the door closes behind us I break down into sobs and screams. Amelia sits on the floor with me, rubbing my arm and reassuring me.
When I finally stop, she asks “Do you want to do something for him?” I shake my head. I don’t know what I’d even do. I have nothing of his, and we aren’t that type of family. Weren’t. We weren’t that type of family.
She nods in acceptance and pulls me up onto the bed. I don’t know when we fall asleep, but I do know its in each others arms, assuring each other they are loved.
