Work Text:
- You only met him because of Namsoon
- She wasn't happy when you met everyone is her life
- She was but then when she started protecting the world, she grew concerned because you didn't have a power to protect yourself
- Big sister Namsoon to the rescue
- The man was enamored with you as soon as he met you- or saw you dropping her off
- She tells you to stay inside and not go out unless you're with someone but you've been cooped up for too long and can't stay put
- You were out for dinner when you met him again, purely by accident
- He needed a break and was out because work was becoming too much and needed fresh air
- You bumped into him and tried to apologize before realizing who it was
"Oh, hello. I didn't realize I bumped into you, Mr. Shioh."
He nods, "you don't need to apologize and Mr. Shioh is- call me, Ryo."
You politely nod, not entirely sure if you should or not considering you barely know each other. "Okay, sorry again."
- That was the first and last time you'd speak to him for a bit
- Namsoon still had no idea what had happened because if she had, she would have stopped you from putting your life in danger
- You kept meeting and talking with him more
- The only reason Namsoon found out about the two of you was because she saw the two of you chatting in his office and then he asked you out and she nearly burst into his office to tell him no
- She didn't tell you she knew but then was something off with her, you could tell
- Then she got hospitalized and she told you, you could barely believe her
- Once the family was okay you went to Ryo and told him you couldn't see him anymore
- He couldn't understand what happened, what had changed
- It wasn't until later that he found out the truth about what happened with everything that went on between Namsoons family and the captain's death
- Even towards the end of his time when his old friend came back, and he lost everyone he thought were on his side
- You were the only one who genuinely cared enough about him. You could have stayed by his side, but he understands why you didn't
- He doesn't blame you
- As he took his last breath, all he thought about was, you
- You took a while to accept his death. Even after you did (which was months later), you still didn't have the easiest time accepting it
- Weekly visits to his grave... and slowly rebuilding his empire, in a more positive and less mafia way, of course
- Until the letter came telling you everything you needed to know about how to run the business and who to keep in contact with...
