Summary
The cumulonimbus is the king of the cloud kingdom. Dramatic and towering monoliths of condensed water vapor and ice crystals, cumulonimbi are the only clouds capable of producing lightning, and sometimes they produce other severe weather, such as large hail and tornadoes.
Naoya’s single dad married Toji’s single mom, making them step-brothers. Naoya’s dad was an abusive drunk. Toji’s mom was neglectful. One night when Naoya’s still in primary school they go too far, Toji kills them and then runs away with Naoya. Toji becomes a killer for hire and a whore to support them. He doesn’t get them a stable living environment until Naoya’s middle school age, at which point he wants Naoya to go back to school and get an education. But Naoya doesn’t want to go to school. But Toji wants him to. So Naoya pretends to go to middle school. And then he pretends to go to high school. He gaslights a few people along the way.
Now Toji wants him to go to college. So Naoya’s going to pretend to go to college. Which entails slipping into lectures and making friends with some college kids to show to Toji as proof.
But seriously, Naoya just really seems to have a way of gathering the strongest and strangest individuals to him.
