Work Text:
“Y-Yukina. You need to get some rest.” The knight let out painfully.
“Lisa…”
“And food. I need to go make some. You haven’t eaten yet.”
“Lisa. Stop it.” The heir let out through gritted teeth.
“Ah, that’s your usual complicated mood, I get it, it’s late and-”
Yukina put her hand on Lisa’s shoulder and it took little of her already small strength to push Lisa back into the bed, not without a painful grunt from her.
“Lisa, a sword got through you.” Yukina could hardly get the vision out of her mind. The cry full of pain coming from Lisa, and the blood, so much blood. “You’re the one who needs to rest.”
“Let me just-“
“Can you-” Yukina’s voice resonated through the room, easily cutting through Lisa’s weakened voice, “Can you think of yourself for once ?!”
A heavy silence took the room, only for it to be broken by a quiet sob that Yukina couldn’t hold back.
“Please Lisa…” Yukina said in a low voice, “You could have...”
“I swore an oath, Yukina.” Lisa’s voice might be weak but her stare bore the weight that she must have on her own shoulders, still after so many years, “To protect you with my life.”
Yukina bit her cheek, almost tasting blood, though she wasn’t sure if it was already there from the ambush.
“Then,” Yukina reached for Lisa’s rough hands, who immediately held her hand back, “For me, at the very least. Please.”
Lisa’s emotions were always so easy to read, even more so for Yukina. She wished it wasn’t the case when Lisa took several conflicted seconds before giving the smallest of nods.
“Alright. For now.”
And for the rest of time Yukina shall try to look after Lisa.
