Work Text:

Staring into the cold of the on-coming night, looking at the bright stars which began to loom above, Jaiden sat perched on a branch, watching the sunset leave her view. Tears had filled her eyes, emotions washing over her like a waterfall. So much had happened. Almost too much to bear. Jaiden struggled to comprehend all that had occurred.

The whole day was leading up to failure. Her and the other residents searching for Bobby, finding him and fighting off mobs, figuring out her and Roier only got ten painful minutes with him... it was a lot. Saying goodbye had to be the hardest, though. Saying goodbye to her son, who she worked so hard to love and care for. The only thing that mattered to her, now stripped away from her so quickly. It was painful.

The tears finally emerged from her eyes, running down her cheeks. She spoke a few soft words to herself and sniffled, more heartbroken than ever. Finally, a heart-wrenching yell emerged from her lungs, one that took away her breath. It represented all her emotions over the course of the whole day, and the final outcome of all of it. Her head fell into her hands, tears never-ending.

She was truly lost, unable to find the solution to her un-concluded problems. She was a mess. She sat there for quite some time, even in the dark, even by herself. All she wanted was her son back, but deep down she knew it was impossible. Maybe one day she would see him again, at least, she hoped she would.
