Work Text:
Oscar had been feeling ill since before he had travelled to Spa. The weather was going to be mixed and so Oscar had hoped that he would get better in time for race day. He didn't have the time to be ill just before the last race before summer break.
The Aussie felt more and more ill as the week went on. He had a fever as well as stomach pains and there were times during meetings where he was feeling sick. He was just glad that he hadn't thrown up.
The team knew that Oscar was feeling under the weather so they were leaving the Aussie to it. Oscar didn't want anyone to make a fuss over him. Having said that, the only person whom Oscar wanted to have with him didn't care that he was ill. Victor hadn't come near him since Oscar had told him he was sick. Oscar didn't know what to make of it, it wasn't as if he was ill all that often.
On Saturday night, Oscar was in the hotel and he messaged Victor to see if he would grab him some medication from the pharmacy. He had run out and he really didn't want to tell Kim because he would be told off. He was in bed when there was a reply from Victor.
[I'm busy, get Kim to buy you meds]
Oscar huffed and ran a hand over his face. He then decided to message Logan rather than someone in the team.
[Hey, can I ask a favour?]
It didn't take long for Logan to reply.
[Sure, what's up?]
[Are you able to get me some medication? I've run out and Kim will kill me if he finds out. I promised him the other day that I had enough]
[Of course, what do you want?]
[Anything to get rid of my headache and sore stomach]
[I'll see what I can do, why can't Victor get you it?]
[He said he's busy]
Oscar knew that Logan was fuming as there was a bit of a gap before Logan's next message.
[I'll go out and get you something, you can let me know you're room number]
[Thanks, you're the best]
Oscar then messaged Logan with his room number before he dozed off for a bit. He was started when there was a knock on the door what felt like five minutes later. He yawned as he crawled out of bed and answered the door. Logan looked concerned as he stared at the Aussie.
“You look exhausted.” Said Logan.
Oscar rolled his eyes and opened the door wider.
“Yeah, tell me something I don't know.”
Logan stepped into the room and Oscar closed the door before he went back to bed. The young American had a bag with different things so he emptied it out onto the table then gave Oscar some pills and water.
“Thank you for this.” Said Oscar.
Logan hummed.
“I just don't understand why Victor isn't doing this.”
Oscar shrugged and Logan raised an eyebrow.
“I don't know but he hasn't come near me since I told him I was sick.” Said Oscar.
Logan sighed and shook his head. He had every intention of speaking to Victor himself.
The young American stayed with his friend until Oscar fell asleep. The following morning, it was Logan's luck that he ended up walking into the paddock at the same time as Victor. He walked away from his trainer so he could speak to the Frenchman.
“I don't know what you're playing at but you do realise there is more to your relationship than just you.” Said Logan.
Victor frowned and stopped walking. He turned to find Logan glaring at him.
“What are you talking about?” Asked Victor.
“I had to go and buy medication for your boyfriend last night because you were apparently too busy.”
“I didn't want to get sick.”
“So, you claimed you were busy when in actual fact, you just don't want to get what Oscar has.”
“Yeah.”
“You're an idiot.”
“Hey! What Oscar and I do is none of your business.”
“He's my friend so it is my business. Try and be a little bit more caring towards your boyfriend next time he's ill.”
Logan shook his head and walked off. Victor stared at the back of Logan's head as he walked off. He didn't understand why Logan cared so much, Oscar wasn't his boyfriend.
