Chapter Text
Tiff and her newfound acquaintance stood in an open-field training court; one built for aerial sessions. Jenny adjusted her goggles and fastened up her talaria. She confidently glanced at Tiff and raised her wings. The two were going to take flight!
"Ya sure this is gonna help me learn to fly, Jen?"
"All angels instinctively know how to fly; we're literally built for it. You've probably flown before without realizing!" Jenny took to the skies in the blink of an eye. "It's just a matter of being in your element." She winked at Tiff from above.
Jenny made it look so easy, Tiff thought. " So why do I have to stiffen up whenever I try gettin' a few feet off the ground?"
"Maybe it's a subconscious thing, like an instinct."
"Jen, you literally just said-"
"I've been reading up on things, I think I've found a lead." This vague response wasn't wholly satisfying for Tiff, but she let it fly anyway. "Just take it easy, one wingbeat at a time."
Tiff stayed quiet and let her surroundings do all the talking for her. The sky's rings of color loomed around her, its gradient telling her the one way to go is up. Her surroundings were silent save for Jenny's steady wingbeat and the breeze gently nudging her. Jenny swirled around in the air, waiting for Tiff to catch up. Tiff sighed. "Here goes nothin'." She kept her eyelids shut, hunched down, and let her wings start carrying her.
Tiff got roughly 6 feet off the ground before her usual feelings kicked in. In a bit of panic, she tried scurrying for the ground. She kept her eyes shut and flailed about midair. What she hadn't noticed was her panicking caused her to fly higher into the sky. Once she opened her eyes, Jenny was right beside her, giggling a bit.
"You wanna land, Tiff?"
"Actually... I was kinda hoping we could do this just a little longer." Tiff's halo went pink again. "It ain't so bad being around you."
