Work Text:
Tango and Jimmy sit in the Tumble Town emergency room.
Jimmy had been trying to show Tango a trick he learned on his skateboard and fell off, possibly breaking his arm.
Tango had run over when he fell, they ended up getting into Tango’s car, and Tango drove them to the nearest Emergency Room.
Now they sit in the waiting room which is way too crowded for Tango’s liking.
They almost did not get a seat.
Tango bounces his leg on the ground, his finger tapping a rhythm on this shared armrest between him and his boyfriend, his eyes moving from thing to thing.
“Are the pain meds working?” Tango asks Jimmy.
“Ya, I can barely feel anything anymore mate.” Jimmy says.
“That's good, that’s good.” Tango says, his eyes moving around the room again.
“You okay Tango?” Jimmy asks.
“Ya, I’m fine .” Tango says waving his hands in an ‘it doesn't matter’ gesture.
“I’ve known you long enough to know that you're lying.”
“Fine.” Tango says, moving his hands to his lap, and wringing them, “I don’t like being around this many people at a time.”
“Sorry,” JImmy says resting his head on Tango’s right shoulder.
“It’s okay.” Tango says, “you should be called in soon.”
“True.” Jimmy says, yawning.
“You feeling a little sleepy?” Tango asks, calming down a bit now he is distracted.
“Did not get much sleep last night.” Jimmy responds, “and you're comfortable.”
“Thank you.” Tango sas, leaning his head on top of Jimmy’s.
“James Solidarity.” somebody says.
“Oh thank the gods.” Tango mumbles, sitting up.
Jimmy makes a mildly irritated noise, before standing up.
“James?” the nurse asks.
“Yes.” Jimmy says.
“Who is this?” they ask.
“My boyfriend.” Jimmy responds, cradling his right arm in his left.
“Alright, follow me.”
