Hazel was sitting in Jane’s room, they were kinda talking about whatever they felt like. “My grandmother visited today and she gave us a book of some of her old recipies.”
Jane gasped. “Do you cook?”
Hazel laughed. “Me? No. I’m terrible in the kitchen.”
Jane rolled her eyes. “You sure…?”
Hazel nodded. “I don’t know why you don’t believe me, but I somehow managed to burn pasta once. Plus most of the recipes are for baked goods. Never tried baking though.”
“We should try sometime.”
“Yeah, what can go wrong?”
A few days later, they decide to actually try it out. After all, it seems pretty easy to make cookies.
“Alrighty.” Hazel said. “We need to mix the butter and sugars in the mixer first…”
They soon began following the directions and soon they had the wet ingridents mixed.
“I wanna try it.” Jane said to herself.
“Well it’s butter sugar vanilla and raw eggs so I don’t think it would be good.”
“You’re right.” Jane admitted. Hazel went back to looking at the recipe and Jane took a tiny taste without anyone knowing.
“We need to start the dry ingriedents now.” Hazel put the flour in a bowl
Jane suddenly sneezed very loudly. “Allergies…” She said sheepishly. Then held back a laugh as she saw she accidentally covered hazel’s face in flour. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay.” Hazel laughed. She then accidentally knocked the bowl. “Whoops.”
Jane laughed. At this point they just were throwing the flour on purpose, messing around. Once the bowl was almost empty, Jane tossed the last bit of flour. “We should clean this up.”
“Yeah. Let’s just finish this up.”
They finished the dry ingridents and started mixing the ingridents together and then added in the chocolate chips. They put them onto the tray. “That’s how the cookie crumbles.” Jane shrugged “I guess you can say that was a… piece of cake.”
Hazel laughed. “Seriously? Puns?”
“Why not? Not trying to sugarcoat it, I’m on a roll!” She rolled the last ball of dough with a laugh.
“Nothing, I just find some puns a little flaky…” She put the cookies in the oven then realized she made a pun when Jane let out a chuckle. “… I’ve got it too, haven’t I?”
“When you yeast expect it!” They both laughed and continued cleaning and putting stuff away. After a few minutes, they heard a ding! “They’re ready!” Jane said.
“They look… A little burnt… but they look edible!”
“Yay! We made something!”
“We should definitely give some to the other pinks.”
“Yeah! We can share them at the sleepover! If Frenchy doesn’t find them by then.”
Hazel laughed. “Don’t worry, I’ll bring them.”
“Aright!”
