Chapter Text
“Willow, I’d be living with a straight man… You know how I feel about that…” You paced about as far as the telephone cord would reach, twirling and twisting the curly cord in your hand.
“Will- no, no, I remember. But Willow-… You know I hate using my magic like that, it’s unpredictable.” You were now gripping and pinching the cord in your fingers.
“Willow I don’t think this equates to the favor I owe you…. Yes, yes you’re right… Okay but- just- just promise me one thing… I can back out. Anytime. … Okay… And I won’t have anymore duties to the Coven? A free witch?… But I would still have all the protection of a Coven affiliate?…” You sighed and paused. “Alright! Alright, fine! You win! Draft up the agreement, I want it in writing! I’ll be there as soon as I can get the Hocus Moving Service. Oh, you already- tomorrow. Ah, okay I understand the urgency. M’kay, see you soon. Love you, bye.” As soon as the phone hit the receiver, you flopped down onto your couch.
Thankfully, the Coven had the absolute best moving services available. The only thing you couldn’t really take with you was your little garden, but at least the fresh soil would be a clean slate for a new one! That’s not what plagued your mind, though. After years of relying on yourself and living alone, you were now supposed to move in with a man you’ve never even met. Sure, you were a powerful witch and could certainly handle yourself but, that doesn’t mean you were exactly comfortable. Your powers have proven time and time again to be wholly unpredictable, at no fault of your own. No amount of practice could ever prepare you for the effects of your specialty on each individual. You’ve been burned over and over and were burnt out trying to master something so finicky. Burnt… burned… it smells like… OH MY GOSH NO YOUR JAM!
The group greeted Willow with bated breath.
“So..?” Euline stepped forward.
“I made a few phone calls. Wink will have to sleep in a cell tonight, but tomorrow will settle into the apprentice house with an old friend of mine. She will watch over Wink until he has proven himself trustworthy enough to reenter society, without supervision. He is free to leave the house, but only with her.”
Wink huffed and rolled his eyes, “Great! Now I gotta have some old bag breathing down my neck!”
“Would you prefer prison?” Willow raised a brow at him. Wink didn’t look at her, but didn’t say anything either.
“Hold on, now. Does that mean this here friend o’ yours is trapped with Wink, 24/7, until further notice?” Darcy tilted his head, a look of worry painted his features.
“She may leave the house, leaving Wink alone for a moment. Wink will have an ankle monitor keeping him in the house until her return. Otherwise, that’ll just be her main priority until Wink decides to stop being a delinquent.” Willow couldn’t hide a bit of smugness that came with the stab at Wink. This only making him scowl in her direction. Darcy nodded, not seeming completely satisfied with that answer.
“Wait, but, I live in the apprentice house! Where will I be moving?” Euline looked surprised before Bacillus jumped at his chance,
“My bluebell, you may move in with Monica and I! If you would like, that is…”
“Oh! Really? You wouldn’t mind?”
“Not at all my flower!! You are welcome to stay as long as you’d like! I promise I’ll make it worth your while!” Bacillus’s licked a strip along Euline’s neck, forcing the blood to roar at her cheeks and a lovestruck look to take her.
“Ah, haha o-okay, yeah!”
Wink grumbled at the display of affection, and his new arrangement, and would do so for the rest of the night. Everyone wondered who the poor soul was that was stuck with the bundle of bad attitude for an indefinite period of time. Everyone prayed for your sanity. Everyone, including yourself, had no idea what you had in store.
