Chapter Text
The party was held a week after the wish was undone.
Well, if it could really be called a party. There were only six of them: Timmy, Dev, Hazel, Cosmo, Wanda, and Peri. But had Hazel insisted on going all out by buying a whole host of snacks and decorations. And of course since Dev would do anything for her, he had insisted on paying for it all to let the fairies rest for a while.
Chip Skylark was currently playing, which Timmy seemed to appreciate since he was bobbing his head to the beat. Hazel and Dev were snuggled on the loveseat, sharing fries and lemonade. Cosmo and Wanda were being their usual lovey-dovey selves, cuddling and flirting. Peri was watching them all fondly; after twenty years his family was complete.
Timmy, who he was sitting next to, nudged him. "What're you thinking about baby bro?" he asked.
Peri smiled. "How much I missed you," he admitted. "And how happy I am that you're here with us."
"Aw," gushed Timmy, giving his little brother a playful noogie. "I missed you too, so much." His eyes drifted over to the two teenagers as he regarded them fondly. "They're good kids. You, Mom, and Dad are doing a great job."
Peri chuckled. "Most of it wasn't us," he corrected. "Especially not me. I... made so many mistakes with Dev." He smiled forlornly. "It's them. They help themselves, and each other."
Timmy hummed lowly. "I've seen it," he said. "Over the years. And you're right, they do help each other." He grinned, punching his little brother lightly. "But don't sell yourself short. You never gave up on him in all these years. He needed that, someone to stick around even when he was at his worst."
The fairy nodded to himself, though he didn't look like he quite believed it. "I guess so."
Timmy leaned back, finally at peace after two decades. "I never thought I would get this again," he confessed. "You know, for real."
Peri smiled. "Feels like family will always find a way, huh?" he teased. He crossed his legs, sipping at his own lemonade. "It's really good to have you back, bro." Timmy grinned and was about to respond when there was an urgent knock on the door. The human door.
Hazel perked up from her place against Dev's chest. "Are you two expecting anyone else?" she asked her godparents.
Cosmo and Wanda looked at each other. "No," they chorused, looking as confused as everyone else.
Timmy stood up. "I'll get it," he volunteered. He walked over to the door and opened it. Once he saw who it was, his jaw dropped.
A woman who looked like she was in her thirties stood there. She had short blond hair and a smattering of freckles. She grinned at the sight of him and threw her arms around him. "Timmy!" she cried happily. Her hug was tight but loving, her warmth engulfing him.
Timmy barely caught her, face twisted with shock and recognition. He knew exactly who this woman was. "Chloe."
