Costume Party

Summary:

"Elizabeth was sure this bad boy with the face tat and messy hair was going to break her heart, but at that moment--she couldn't seem to care. She let him breathe promising words into her ear; she let him hold onto her waist as they danced; she let him do whatever he wanted because she needed to feel wanted. But she was sure he'd leave by the end of the night."

Notes:

Ok there's a lot of (reasonable) controversy around this anime, but listen. I liked the story between Elizabeth and Meliodas. It was like a fated mates thing, which is like in my top ten favorite tropes. And so this story was born.

Work Text:

"What am I supposed to wear, Dianne?" Elizabeth huffed. "I've never been to a costume party. What are you wearing?"

Dianne rolled her eyes as she shoved her into the Halloween store. "I'm being a cave-woman. The slutty kind. I expect King to be drooling over me," she giggled. They paused for a moment in middle of the walkway, making Elizabeth awkwardly smile at the annoyed passerby's while Dianne swooned, a large smile taking up her expression, along with a blush to match. "Ooohhh, I can't wait to see his face!"

"Well, what am I supposed to do?" Elizabeth whispered fiercely, pulling her into an isle and out of the way. "I've never played Halloween. My parents think it's paganism."

Dianne rolled her eyes again. "First of all, you don't play Halloween. Second, your parents have always been uptight. It's not that hard, Ellie. Just browse for a while until you find something. And if you can't, then we'll just make something quick."

"But—" Elizabeth was cut short while Dianne skipped away, probably off to find her costume. "The party is tonight," she finished lamely, dropping her head in defeat.

Sighing to herself, she walked the isles of the store, trying to avoid the jump-scare props. All she saw in the adult section were cheap looking clowns and pirates. She wasn't interested in either of those things. Then, suddenly, she caught a flash of gold in the corner of her eye. She turned to find an angel costume, also fairly cheap looking. She pursed her lips. She definitely wouldn't mind something angel-like. Maybe a goddess would be better—it felt more her style.

She kept looking but couldn't find a costume to match her idea, so she settled on getting two pairs of wings, one small and one large. She would just makeshift them how she wanted. Then she found a mask she thought might make the look, headed to find Dianne and went to check out.

"So what did you find?" Dianne asked after they stepped out.

"I decided on a goddess," she replied. "But I still need to get a dress and shoes. And probably jewelry."

Dianne clapped her hands excitedly. "Yay, more shopping!"

They headed to their next store, where Elizabeth knew she could find everything she wanted, which included a short white dress that hugged her body and revealed too much skin, golden heeled sandals that laced up her legs, a golden belt and bracelets. After that, they stopped to get some food and headed back to Dianne's apartment to get ready.

"Wow, that's amazing!" Dianne gasped when she saw her friend walk out from the bathroom. "How the hell did you pull that off?"

Elizabeth shrugged, flattered and embarrassed. "I have a hidden talent, I guess. You look great, too. How do you make a cheap costume look so expensive?"

Dianne laughed. "This was fifty dollars. It better look good on me for just one night."

Elizabeth had made sure to put on very little makeup so that her mask didn't mess anything up. But when she put it on, it pinched her nose. "I don't think I like this," she complained.

"Hold on," Dianne said. She got up and headed to the bathroom, coming back out with a small case of contacts. "I bought some colored contacts a while ago, but when I tried on a pair, they didn't feel right. Since you wear contacts occasionally, I figure you should be able to pull them off. These are a crazy yellow color."

Elizabeth tried them on and blinked until they felt right, glanced in a mirror and smiled. "They're perfect, Dianne! Thank you."

"They really do pull the look together," she commented, staring for a few moments before adjusting some things on herself as well. Her hair, usually in pigtails, fell long and loose around her shoulders, teased a bit to make it look wild. Her belly was bare, the animal-printed top and skirt just barely covering what it needed to. She had wanted her feet to be bare, but was convinced by Elizabeth that the floor would be way too dirty for her to do that. So instead she wore some brown sandals, toes painted a nude color they'd chosen together at the nail salon. Elizabeth's toes were painted a classic white, a few toe rings glinting in the light.

They both grabbed their long coats and scarves as soon as the sun went down, wrapping themselves up tightly to try to avoid the chill from the night, and caught a taxi to King's Halloween party.

The King Estate was grand, for lack of a better word. Tonight it was decorated with extravagant Halloween decorations, fake fog rolling across the grass in front of the entrance gate. They walked up the sidewalk to ring the bell beside the gate. "Names?" a voice answered.

"Elizabeth Liones and Dianne Serpent."

"Serpent? Yes, of course. My apologies ladies," the voice said hurriedly. There was silence for a few moments, and then the gate buzzed and opened. Elizabeth and Dianne glanced at each other with raised eyebrows. King must have put in a special word for Dianne. When they reached the double glass doors to the mansion, a man greeted them with enthusiasm. "Welcome, ladies," he said with a deep bow. They both blushed in embarrassment. "I have some bracelets for you to wear—all access to the King Estate, courtesy of Master Harlequin."

The girls took the green bracelets, a bit shocked with the treatment. All access? King must really have it bad for Dianne, Elizabeth thought. Jealousy tinged her heart for a moment. She wondered when she'd find something like that.

"Thank you," Dianne smiled, leading them both past what they assumed was a butler and into the entrance. The black tiled floors were elegant and shined in the late moonlight that trickled in through the large windows that cushioned the doors behind them. It really made the spooky theme come to life, with dark plastic bats hanging from the ceiling, right above their heads, and cotton spiderwebs dotting the corners of walls. A few realistic goblins crouched over pedestals, one right after the other, eyes glowing a sinister red.

"This is a little creepy," Elizabeth commented, her voice echoing through the hall loudly as they followed the signs that would lead them to the party. Her legs grew goosebumps as she spotted a vampire kneeling in a fountain of fake blood, some dripping from its fangs and empty eye sockets.

"That's the point, Ellie," Dianne giggled. "Don't worry, though. All of it's fake."

"That doesn't make me feel better," Elizabeth groaned, expecting anything to jump out at any second.

They finally approached another set of double doors, these adorning signs that warned them of monstrous things behind them. "I guess this is it," Dianne thought aloud.

"Are you sure it's not too late to go home?" Elizabeth asked worriedly. "I don't even know what people do at these parties."

"It's just like any other party, Ellie."

"I've only been to two," she hissed, "and left within ten minutes."

Dianne sighed and pursed her lips in an unhappy frown. "It'll be alright," she assured her friend. "If you want, I'll hang out with you for a while so you're not so nervous. But after that, King is mine for the taking."

Elizabeth nodded and blew out a shaky breath. "Okay. That sounds good."

"Great, lets go!" Dianne squealed, grabbing Elizabeth's hand and pulling her through the doors.

"W-wait!"

But they were already through, the previous silence from the hallway blown away by some mainstream metal band that yelled about demons. Elizabeth's heart skipped a few beats, anxiety shooting through the roof as she looked around and recognized nobody. But even though everyone else was, she felt like the stranger among them.

Dianne led them through the crowd, trying not to get splashed by drinks, and stopped at the bar, where the music wasn't as loud. Elizabeth was grateful for that. Her friend ordered them both a vodka cranberry and leaned against the bar next to Elizabeth. "Are you doing okay?" Dianne asked in a raised voice, trying to talk over the noise.

Elizabeth felt queasy. "Yeah," she lied. "I'm fine. Where's King?"

"I don't know yet," she shrugged. "I'm sure he'll turn up."

Their drinks were sat in front of them on the bar moments later. "Payment, please," the barkeep said. He had a thick handlebar mustache, kind blue eyes, and a snazzy vest that shown a name tag reading "Escanor".

Elizabeth reached into her clutch, pulling out a card and handing it to Escanor. Then his eyes widened, zeroing in on her arm. "Oh, my sincerest apologies," Escanor said. "The drinks are free for anyone with a green bracelet. Please, forgive me."

"Oh, um... Thanks..."

The girls took their drinks and began sipping. "He shouldn't have said that to you," Dianne snickered. "You'll be blacked out before the end of the night."

Elizabeth's mouth dropped in mock anger, slapping her friend's arm lightly. "I'm not an alcoholic," she laughed. "Take that back!"

"Hey, Dianne!"

The girls turned their heads at the sound of Harlequin King. He'd decided to be a butterfly, with huge colorful wings flapping gently behind him. He was shirtless, short hair dyed pink for the occasion. "Wow, King! You look incredible," Dianne flirted, slipping easily next to him and pressing a lingering kiss to his cheek. He blushed, and so did Elizabeth. She wasn't used to seeing affection like theirs; her mother and father definitely loved each other like that, their twenty five years of marriage proving so, but only behind closed doors.

"Hey, Elizabeth. It's nice to see you again," King said with a polite smile.

"You, as well, Harlequin," she grinned. "I like your wings."

He laughed a little. "And yours, too," he nodded to her goddess wings. They weren't as heavy as his looked, mostly because they were made cheaply and she was sure his weren't.

Elizabeth noticed Dianne's expression, and decided to move the attention to her friend. "Dianne looks the best, though, don't you think so, King?"

His eyes went to his girlfriend's costume and his eyes nearly bugged out of his skull. "Dianne—!" he gasped, face flushing five different shades of red. She grinned widely. "I'm, uh, a little speechless..."

"That was the goal," she sang, pulling him in for a close embrace.

Elizabeth turned the other way, giving them their privacy as she sipped more on her drink. The music was still loud and a little heavy for her taste, but she supposed Halloween was supposed to be like this. Creepy and dark.

Her eyes scanned the sea of people on the dance floor, hoping to find a familiar face. Maybe Ban or Elaine? She knew they were invited. Merlin, or Arthur? She frowned as all she saw were random people, grinding or head banging to the music.

"Hey, Meliodas! It's good to see you here! I thought you weren't coming?"

Elizabeth turned around in curiosity, wondering who this Meliodas was, since King was obviously familiar with him. He stood a few inches shorter than her, but his muscular build made up for it. He had a messy head of blonde hair, very dark eyes, tattoos covering one half of his naked upper body, and one face tattoo that rested above his eyebrows. She was taken aback by her sudden, slamming attraction to him, barely noticing her flush that trailed across her face, down her neck and stopping at her chest.

"I decided that Ban could handle it for a night. He won't it hurt much."

His voice was friendly, almost childlike. It was incredibly charming, but didn't match his black outfit at all. He only wore pants that hung low at the waist, revealing his trail of blonde hair leading to... elsewhere... and black combat boots completed the look. His very natural looking abs made her lick her lips unconsciously. He hadn't looked at her yet, but she hoped he would. She wondered what those dark eyes would feel like roaming over her.

"Why the hell are your eyes so black?" King asked, squinting at his friend.

"What?" Meliodas blinked, then laughed lightheartedly. "Oh, they're contacts for the costume. I'm a demon, can't you tell?"

"Uh, no. You kinda look like a heavily tattooed biker."

"But I'm not even wearing a vest."

Elizabeth stared while King and Meliodas carried on, Dianne joining in here and there. Why did he sound so familiar? Not his voice, but his character... She remembered Ban saying something about a new job he got a few weeks ago... at a bar. He said the owner knew King somehow. Maybe this was him?

"Oh, Meliodas, I want to introduce you to someone," Dianne cut in. She turned towards Elizabeth, all eyes on her now, making her squirm under the sudden scrutiny. "This is my friend, Ellie. We go to the same college." Dianne smiled at Elizabeth, beckoning her over.

Elizabeth, catching Meliodas's intense gaze, stepped forward out of her frozen state and joined their trio. "Meliodas," he greeted with a smile, extending his hand.

"Elizabeth," she breathed, placing her fingers gently in his grasp, blushing when he brought her knuckles to his mouth to press a dry kiss there.

"Meliodas, would you keep her company for a bit?" Dianne asked sweetly, batting her eyelids at him. He looked unfazed. "King is going to show me around."

"Sure," he replied, casting an interested glance her way.

"'Kay, bye!"

Elizabeth, still in slight shock, watched her friend and King slip away cheerily, leaving her alone with a stranger. Nervously, she smiled at Meliodas, who was still looking her up and down curiously. His gaze was more intimidating than she had thought, making her more anxious than turned on as she had originally anticipated. She ordered another vodka cranberry from Escanor and immediately began sipping again.

"So what college do you go to?"

"Huh?" she choked out. "O-oh, um. Britannia."

He nodded. "My brother, Zeldris, studies there. He's a history major."

Elizabeth relaxed a tiny bit at the normal conversation. "Engineering," she revealed. "I love the math."

Meliodas laughed a little. "I can't stand math. I dropped out of college a year ago and opened up my bar."

"What bar?" she asked, drinking some more, allowing the liquid to soothe her nerves.

"The Boar Hat Tavern."

"I knew I recognized you," she grinned. "Ban works for you."

"You know Ban?"

"He's dating my friend, Elaine, from high school. I think he's a little old for her, in my opinion."

"He's only a year older than me," Meliodas said defensively.

She widened her eyes. "You're twenty three? You look a lot older."

"How old do I look?" he joked.

"I don't know... twenty five? Six?"

"Well, how old are you? Barely nineteen, for sure."

Elizabeth frowned. "I'm twenty one as of yesterday, thank you." She always thought her youthful looks were annoying. That's why she always dressed the way she did, to make her look older.

"Hey, I'm sorry. I was just teasing," Meliodas said, stepping closer and brushing her arm with his fingers. Her skin tingled at his touch, her body lighting with fireworks, taking her breath away. Her head swayed. "Would you like to go dance with me?"

"H-huh?" she sputtered.

His hopeful expression dropped instantly, making her heartstrings tighten with something she couldn't place. "I understand, if you don't want to," he said hesitantly.

"N-no, I would love to!" she exclaimed hurriedly. She set her empty drink on the bar and took his hand without another thought, pulling them onto the packed dance floor.

The music pounded through her body, but all she could hear was the heartbeat in her ears. Meliodas's smile was intoxicating, his eyes intensely looking into her soul. At least, that's what it felt like.

"I, um..." she trailed off, nerves making her body shake. She leaned into him, putting her mouth beside his ear so he could hear her. "I've never been to a real party. I don't know what to do."

"Someone as beautiful as you?" he murmured, raising bumps across her skin. "No way."

"I don't party," she explained feebly.

"That's okay," he assured in that same, low sexy voice. She shivered. "I can show you..." He took her by the hips, pulling her closer than she'd ever been to a man. "...How fun it can be," he whispered, lips brushing the shell of her ear.

Elizabeth was sure this bad boy with the face tat and messy hair was going to break her heart, but at that moment—she couldn't seem to care. She let him breathe promising words into her ear; she let him hold onto her waist as they danced; she let him do whatever he wanted because she needed to feel wanted. But she was sure he'd leave by the end of the night. Just like the others always did.

Her relationships in the past never worked out. She had no idea what she was lacking, but the boys she'd dated always turned towards someone else. Was it her body? Her strange silver hair? Her high pitched voice? She had no idea what drove them away from her, but it definitely lowered her self esteem multiple notches.

But as they danced close together, Elizabeth couldn't ignore the sparks that ignited in her belly. His skin was warm and smooth, her fingers dragging over his muscles without thought. His hands gripped her hips, roaming up her waist and back occasionally, and then back down to her thighs. They swayed with the upbeat music, eyes closed.

Sweat made the back of her neck hot, dampening her hair. The song ended a few moments later, silence descending upon the crowd. The DJ began speaking, breaking Elizabeth's attention from Meliodas, whose hands still held her close. "Let's go get a drink," she suggested, pulling away from him gently. He nodded with a smile and followed her to the bar. She ordered a shot of Malibu and turned towards Meliodas.

"Jaegermeister."

"Ah, Captain Meliodas! It's been a while," Escanor smiled. "How are you?"

"I'm good, Escanor, thanks. How about you? You like your new job?"

Elizabeth was quiet, observing the two and their familiarity as she tipped back her shot. She wondered how everyone knew him but her.

"You should come bartend at The Boar Hat," Meliodas grinned. "It might not pay as much as here, but it's fun and Ban cooks the best roast."

"Ah, but sir Harlequin has guaranteed salary. My apologies, but I can't, Captain. Please excuse me."

"Why did he call you Captain?" Elizabeth wondered. Her eyes were already swimming from the three strong drinks.

Meliodas laughed awkwardly and scratched his head. "Well, when I was in college, I lead a martial arts team called the Seven Deadly Sins. I was the captain for a few years until I dropped out."

"That martial arts team?" Elizabeth sputtered. "They still talk about your team!"

Meliodas shrugged and swallowed his shot expertly. She watched his throat bob, wondering briefly what it would be like to feel it with her lips. "How long did you stay in college?" she asked, trying to distract herself.

"Three years. I was burnt out by then, and I'd always dreamed of owning a business. So the pieces just fell into place."

"I wish I had the courage to do that," she sighed. "I just don't know what I'd do." She pursed her lips in thought for a few moments while Meliodas ordered another shot for them. "Maybe I'll become a dancer," she grinned. "What do you think, Meliodas?"

He stepped closer and handed her a glass, which she gladly took and tipped back, grimacing from the strong alcoholic taste. He followed suit. "I think you would absolutely crush every competition you may have," he murmured, leaning against the bar and resting a casual hand on her hip. Elizabeth's breath sped up, noticing how close he was.

"Do you want to go somewhere else?" he asked, rubbing his thumb over her pelvic bone.

Elizabeth's heart dropped in disappointment, but covered it up with an awkward laugh. "I'm intoxicated, Captain Meliodas. Where could we possibly go?"

"I had somewhere pretty fun in mind," he grinned playfully. Then he grabbed her hand and pulled them away from the dance floor and out to a patio.

"The pool?" she asked, confused.

"What, you don't like swimming? Come on."

She followed him down to the huge pool. Along with the lights at the bottom and floating orange and purple lights that spouted fountains of water, she was sure if she drowned someone would find her easily. Meliodas began unzipping his pants and Elizabeth blushed deeply. "W-what are you doing?!"

He blinked at her. "I don't want to get my pants wet," he explained plainly. "It's not like I'm naked under here."

"Oh..."

Elizabeth swallowed her nerves and copied him, unzipping her dress and letting it pool around her feet. She felt extremely exposed in just her undergarments, but she kept in mind it was just like a swimsuit. There was no difference. Except that Meliodas would be joining her in the same water.

She unlaced her sandals, took off her bracelets and wings, and stepped up next to Meliodas, who, the gentleman he was, avoided looking at her directly. "Ready?" he asked excitedly.

"Yeah," she breathed.

Meliodas took a few steps back, and just as she caught on to what he was doing, he took a running jump and cannon balled into the water, splashing her with the coldest water she'd ever felt. She screeched and shivered, taking a few steps away from the edge. "Meliodas!" she cried.

His head bobbed above the water, hair plastered to his forehead. "C-come on! The w-water's p-perfect!"

"Liar," she bemoaned.

"Elizabeth," he sang. "If you don't jump in, I'm coming after you..."

"Okay, okay, I'm coming."

She took a deep breath, praying that her body didn't go into shock, and ran in as well.

"Ahhh!" she screamed as her head breached the surface. "This is freezing!"

Meliodas laughed deeply and swam over to her, pulling them into the shallower end. She could barely feel his fingers stroking her hips. Barely. "It's not that bad once you get used to it," he chuckled. "I told you it would be fun."

Elizabeth's hand unconsciously went up to touch his melting tattoo above his eyebrows. "I think your demon tattoo is coming off," she commented, an humorous smile stretching her lips.

Meliodas met her eyes at the same time that he shivered. His lips parted, eyes searching hers. Was he going to kiss her? Elizabeth's heart raced, fingers trailing down to rest on the junction between his neck and chest. She parted her own lips and bravely leaned in, only slightly, allowing him to decide to close the distance.

"Meliodas, Elizabeth!"

They broke apart quickly, chests rising and falling with startled breaths. Around the corner came Dianne and King. "What are you two doing?" Dianne asked.

"We just decided to go for a swim," Elizabeth smiled politely. "It was too loud inside."

"We should probably get out now," Meliodas said next, sounding a tad disappointed. Her heart fluttered at the memory of his expression. He was really about to kiss her!

"I'll get you some towels," King announced, Dianne following him like a prancing kitten, completely smitten. Elizabeth smiled at that.

As Elizabeth stood out of the water, she was starkly aware of the cheeky nude underwear she wore, revealing much of her ass to Meliodas who rose out of the water behind her. "Jesus Christ," he muttered. Her whole body flushed. He probably didn't mean to say that out loud, but it was flattering nonetheless.

King returned with the towels, handing one to each of them. "We're going to play some scary party games later. Would you like to join us?"

Elizabeth immediately shook her head. "I'm not a big fan of Halloween," she admitted sheepishly. "Dianne convinced me to come."

"Oh, well that's too bad," King frowned. "If you change your mind, it'll be in the back courtyard."

Just as they were walking away, Elizabeth grabbed Dianne's arm. "Hey, you plan on staying the night here, right?" she asked.

Dianne nodded. "Yeah, King has plenty of bedrooms," she winked. "If you know what I mean."

Elizabeth blushed and tried to ignore that comment. "Can I stay at your place tonight then?" Her eyes darted back to Meliodas, who had struck up a conversation with King. "My roommate is really close with my parents, and if they find out I was with a man..."

Dianne grinned evilly. "The spare key is buried in the plant. You can wash it off with the bottle of water I keep behind it. Just make sure to bury it back." She leaned in and giggled. "And make sure he's buried into you."

Elizabeth gasped. "Dianne!"

She laughed hard and left her to stand with King, both soon leaving to head into the house. Elizabeth made sure to wrap her towel securely around her so that it didn't fall, embarrassed beyond belief at Dianne's risqué words. Would she really be... doing that... with Meliodas tonight? He was practically still a stranger... Her eyes flitted to him, looking him up and down. An incredibly hot, good-enough-to-eat stranger, she thought.

"You ready to go back inside?" Meliodas asked, snapping her out of her head.

"Oh, yes," she said quickly, scooping her items off the ground and hurrying after him. "Would you... happen to know where the bathroom is?"

"I'm sure we can find it," Meliodas smiled.

They roamed the halls of the King Estate, footsteps echoing around them. Elizabeth was glad that the decorations had significantly decreased. Mostly fake cobwebs hung from the ceilings and rubber rats were placed around corners. Nothing jumped out and it was relatively quiet, aside from the music that floated from the dance room. Soon they found a door that sported a paper sign reading "guest bathroom."

They both went in, but after seeing there was no separate men's and women's section, Meliodas politely stepped out. "I'll go after you," he grinned.

Elizabeth blushed pink and nodded, watching him close the door behind him. Taking a deep breath, she locked the entrance and began to undress completely, ringing out her bra and panties in the sink, drying herself afterwards. Her eyes flicked to the mirror, catching a glimpse of her body. She'd never been unhappy with her appearance, other than her youthful face. Hourglass figure, flaring hips, shapely thighs. Elizabeth's hand reached her lips, tracing the outline. She shivered, imagining Meliodas doing the very same thing to her. His eyes haunted her body, and in a moment of desire, her fingers trailed further down, feeling the slope of her neck, the small dip in her sternum before the swell of her breasts. She parted her mouth, picturing that messy mop of blonde hair below her head, resting on her chest, half-lidded eyes glancing up at her with passion.

Elizabeth shuddered slightly, nipples hardening from both the cold air and her wild imagination. Okay, so she definitely wanted to have sex with Meliodas. Why was her attraction so strong? She'd never felt like this with anyone. What was it that pulled her to him?

Shaking her head, she pulled on her damp underwear and bra, shivering from the coldness of the fabric, and then slipped her dress back on, frowning at the wet spots her bra made. That was going to be embarrassing. Hopefully the darkness through the night would hide it. Finally, she pulled on her sandals and the rest of her accessories and stepped out into the hallway, eyes immediately drawn to Meliodas who sat on a chair across from the door. He looked happy to see her, face stretching into a cheery grin.

"Hey," she said shyly, tucking a piece of damp hair behind her ear. "Bathroom's free."

"Thanks, I'll be just a minute."

As Elizabeth waited in the same chair Meliodas had occupied, she thought of what their night would turn out to be. Would he be willing to come with her to Dianne's apartment? Although she was now sober, thanks to the freezing pool, would he still want to go all the way with her? She felt he was gentlemanly enough not to, probably unable to believe her after seeing her tipsy next to the bar, but she hoped for the opposite. Just this once.

A few minutes pass before he opened the door. Before he'd gone in, his hair was plastered to his forehead and neck from the water, but now thanks to his towel-drying, it stuck up in every which way, a small cowlick in the back sticking up cutely. He flashed a toothy grin. "Hey, Elizabeth."

"Would you like to come back to my apartment?" she blurted.

Gasping, she covered her mouth, shocked that she said that so suddenly. Her eyes glanced at him, trying to feel out his own shocked expression. Was it good or bad shock? She couldn't tell. But then, causing her heart to pound harder than it already was, his smile came back. However, this time, it was provocative, and not the charming, lighthearted one from before.

Meliodas stepped towards her slowly, pants riding so low she could see the "V" shape that lead downwards towards his... Elizabeth looked back up, taking in his smirk and dark eyes with underlying excitement. He leaned forward, trapping her between his arms, face leaning in so close that she closed her eyes, expecting something entirely different than what she got. His lips were still soft, though.

"I'd love nothing more, Elizabeth."

Her giggles disturbed the late night peace of the complex as she dug through soil for Dianne's damned key. Meliodas's breath tickled the back of her neck with his own laugh, arms wrapped tightly around her waist as she bent over. Her heart pounded and her legs almost gave out as she felt his... muscular body pressing against her backside.

Finally she dug the key out, rinsed it off quickly and entered the loaned apartment, stumbling with Meliodas as they laughed some more. "That tickles," she complained lightly, swatting playfully at his hands that gripped her thighs.

"But they look so delicious," he growled, nipping at her neck from behind her. Her breath faltered at the attention.

"M-Meliodas..."

He hummed contentedly, hands traveling upwards over her hips and around her belly, pulling her dress up with him. She blushed furiously, lips parting slightly. Her body arched into his touch and he took a deep breath in through his nose. "So smooth," he murmured, kissing her shoulder.

Elizabeth turned around, regretfully pulling away from him. She hurriedly removed her shoes, Meliodas following her actions soon after. "I'll meet you in the bedroom," she whispered. She almost smiled at his heated expression, but pulled herself together and ran to the bathroom.

Her hands shook nervously as she undressed completely, disregarding all her clothes to a corner. She knew Dianne kept a thin robe on the hook by the door, so she pulled that on. Luckily it was the sexy one, with lace-like patterns that swirled across the fabric, and not the one that had cute bunnies.

Elizabeth glanced in the mirror at the last second, realizing she still wore Dianne's yellow contacts. She pulled those out, recognizing her blue irises immediately. It made her face look younger still, but she couldn't dwell on that. She had a sexy, probably naked, man waiting for her. Hopefully.

Thoughts raced through her mind as she grasped the door handle. I'm about to have sex for the first time with a stranger. What if I do something wrong? What if I turn him off? What if

Elizabeth shook her head and turned back around to find something to help her feel better. She rummaged through Dianne's things, finding a hairbrush, unopened deodorant that she would likely have to replace after using, and some roll-on perfume that smelled heavenly. Thanking the gods, she primped herself a bit, feeling more confident now that she didn't look or smell like a wreck.

Steeling her nerves finally, she grabbed the door handle once again and opened it. It wasn't dark as she had expected; a lamp illuminated the small bedroom, revealing Meliodas who laid in the bed on his side, one arm holding up his head. She didn't know if he was naked or not, the blanket covering his lower half, but it looked like he had freshened up too.

As she stood there gaping like an idiot, she blurted the first thing that came to mind. "Your eyes are green."

"And yours are blue," he responded softly.

Gone were the tattoos that had previously covered his body; it seemed they were fake, as she had presumed. Only one remained on his left bicep, a red dragon eating its own tail. It only made him more alluring, to see a blank canvas for her to examine thoroughly. She did wonder how he removed them. Did they come off with soap? Were they stickers? She found that she didn't truly care.

"Come here," Meliodas ordered in a velvety voice, and her legs carried her forward willingly as he sat up fully, allowing her to catch a glimpse of the rest of his exposed belly. She came to the quick conclusion that he, in fact, was not wearing his pants, or underwear for that matter. He was as naked as a babe. Elizabeth's heart pounded so hard she thought she might have a heart attack. Maybe a stroke. Brain aneurism. Something along those lines—hell, she wasn't a doctor.

"I-I've never done this, either," she admitted anxiously, shifting in place beside the bed.

Meliodas just smiled with a touch of humor. "You're a virgin?"

She bit her lip and hid her eyes behind her bangs.

Meliodas grasped her hand and pulled her down to him. Now, with them sitting together on the bed, she was closer to his height, his face, but she dared not look into his eyes. Surely it was pity she'd see. He was probably thinking about how this poor girl had been turned away her whole life, never getting to experience that connection that all her friends seemed to have with someone—

"Elizabeth, look at me."

Her breath caught in her throat, but she glanced up anyway. His face was unreadable to her. "What?" she whispered.

"I don't care that you're a virgin," he murmured, sliding much closer. "It doesn't mean anything, and it doesn't make a difference afterwards. You're the most gorgeous person I've ever seen, and I'll be damned if I let something that insignificant stop me from holding you in my very own arms."

Elizabeth gasped under her breath. "You're not going to leave?" she murmured, searching for a lie in his expression.

"Like hell I'd leave," he said, bringing his hand up to her jaw, cupping her face, and leaning into her. It all happened at once, leaving her breathless as he initiated their first kiss.

His lips were forgiving as they both tried to figure out their own pace. They stumbled with each other here and there, but soon fell into a pattern. Peck once, twice... slide a tongue along an upper lip... nibble at the lower one... lock lips and bask in the simple pleasure that kissing brought. Then they grew restless with each other, Elizabeth's hand coming up to run her fingers through his messy hair, and Meliodas pressing harder against her lips. Daring, Elizabeth slid her own tongue between his lips, enjoying the small grunt that came from him, and enjoying it even more when he met her, too.

Meliodas's free hand came to cup the other side of her face, leaning her back and taking quick control. Elizabeth's body followed his lead easily, flames of desire licking up from her toes to her head. Oh, boy, she loved this.

He laid her back on the bed, adjusting gently so that he leaned over her, arms bent beside her head, but the rest of his body merely lay beside her. That meant he was out from under the blanket, and free for her to touch. Her hands eagerly trailed over his shoulders, chest, back, thighs... Anywhere she could teasingly touch without actually meeting the other part of him that stood between his legs, she touched. And she enjoyed every second of it.

But that didn't mean Meliodas did. He groaned against her mouth, sending pleasing shivers down her spine, and pulled away to grab both her hands and pin them above her head. Her stomach dropped in the best way possible. "How come you get to touch and I don't?" he breathed, eyes flashing the most fiery emerald she'd ever encountered.

"I never said you couldn't, Meliodas," she purred. His expression darkened a bit with lust. "Touch away."

Without missing a beat, Meliodas held both her wrists under one of hers, bringing his other hand down to the tie of her robe. Elizabeth took a quiet breath, feeling it slide from her skin as she was suddenly exposed to the cool air of the room, calming and also arousing her heated body. His fingers dragged delicately down the center of her chest, between her breasts, and down her belly. She shivered, releasing a sigh and closing her eyes, giving into his irresistible caresses.

Slowly, his hand released hers, but she kept them where they were and allowed him to feel her. His hands were a bit calloused, but she didn't mind. After all, they cupped her bust with the gentleness of a butterfly, thumbs rubbing smooth and light circles around her nipples. Her silent breaths became pants, back arching slightly. He traveled further, a finger passing over her navel, and then down to her thighs. Gradually he had moved above her, and now with their bodies aligned, he pressed their bare skin together and met her lips once more.

It was a good distraction tactic, but it didn't work in his favor. Now her entire focus was on the indescribable heat between her legs, as well as the length between his, rather than his mouth, no matter how delicious she found it. Her body was wound tighter than a rubber band ball, shaking with anticipation. But she did her best to concentrate on the action he had initiated.

His tongue brushed hers again, pouring gasoline on the already blazing fire he'd started. She moaned and wrapped her arms around his neck, legs automatically coming to wrap around the back of his thighs, electric thrills zapping her nervous system. His chest, unnoticed before, had the slightest dusting of white-blonde hair, sliding against her hardened nipples. Lastly, she felt the very part she was avoiding. Not out of disgust, because she was sure it was far from that, but out of timidness. It pressed to the inner part of her thigh, very close to her center—she could feel it throb.

Meliodas's hands grasped the pillowy flesh of her breasts and broke their kiss, bending his head to her chest and sucking on the skin lightly. She let out a surprised gasp, a moan following soon after as she felt his mouth close around her nipple. His tongue was unbelievably hot, licking around the areola, and then he pulled gently with his teeth. Elizabeth gave a small, voiceless cry. She'd never had anyone touch her like this. She was beyond coherency; she'd passed cloud nine long ago.

He gave the other side the same attention, leaving the other cold and hard. After he finished, he buried his face between her chest and kissed her sternum. She looked down, fantasy coming to life as his eyes met hers, messy hair tickling the sides of her breasts. He could probably feel her heartbeat. They broke eye contact a moment later when he traveled lower, dragging his tongue provocatively down her belly as his fingers simultaneously trailed from the top of her knee, following her shape inward and towards her center.

He met himself in the middle, mouth descending softly against her while his hands slid under her cheeks, gripping her firmly and holding her in place. Elizabeth's panting was the only sound in the room. She almost stopped him out of uneasiness, but then his tongue was circling her clit, and her mind blanked instantly.

Her mouth dropped open, a throaty moan following shortly. Head thrown back in pleasure, her nails scratched his scalp, occasionally gripping his hair as he explored unabashed. He kissed her so deeply down there that her groans and cries became gradually louder, and when he slipped a finger between her folds and inside her, she came apart at the seams, crying her ecstasy into the night. She heard him groan against her.

She'd explored herself a few times on her own, but it had never felt like this. Her legs trembled with her orgasm, ears ringing and head swimming. He crawled above her once more, taking a hand that was still tangled in his hair and placing it on his stomach. She whimpered. "More?" she whispered, gazing at him with half-lidded eyes.

He smirked and kissed her chastely. "More," he nodded with a deep voice that shook her to the core.

He guided her hand down to grasp his shaft. She breathed a sigh of unexpected pleasure. It was firm but almost velvet-like. She could feel veins trailing from the bottom to the top, where a thin liquid seeped out from the slit she felt with her thumb. His head dropped, forehead brushing hers, and he released a low groan, jaw locked. She was assaulted with a renewed sense of excitement, those same flames that had been previously calmed from her orgasm flaring back to life. He liked her touch.

Emboldened, she continued her ministrations, pumping her hand gently up and down. She loved the way he shuddered and sighed. He moved his hips in time with her hand, mimicking exactly what she expected him to be doing in just a few minutes.

But first, she wanted her own taste.

She released him to push on his shoulders, laying him down on the bed as she straddled his thighs. She tried to ignore his passionate stare, but it was near impossible. Her nails raked his skin, trailing over his arms, then his shoulders, chest, abs... and further down to his cock.

Her body flushed with heat when she finally saw it. It wasn't like she hadn't seen one before, but definitely not in person, and definitely not attached to the embodiment of sexiness. He was like a god. Her own personal Demon God of Quick Orgasms.

Elizabeth took him in her hand once more and bent forward, boldly licking from base to tip with the flat of her tongue. She'd seen videos on how this was done, and by the sound he made, she assumed it was right. She swirled around the head and then encased him with her lips and sucked lightly, tasting the plainness of his skin.

"Elizabeth," he groaned.

She whimpered at the sound of his voice, legs rubbing together to soothe the rebuilding warmth. She sucked some more, taking him further in and keeping a firm hand on the base. His hips shifted every so often, making her grunt quietly. Then she began pumping her hand and sucking only the head, bobbing her head in time with herself. Meliodas made a choking sound and grasped a handful of her hair—she breathed in through her nose sharply, body aching with desire. She continued for another minute before he tugged on her hair a bit, making her pull up and catch her breath.

"Elizabeth, I need you to stop before I finish," Meliodas grunted.

She blushed bright red and sat up, wiping her lips with her fingers. "What would you like me to do?" she asked shyly.

"Lay on your back," he commanded. She did as he asked while he grabbed a square foiled packet from the night stand that she hadn't noticed before, but was now incredibly grateful for. She adjusted to where she was comfortable as he rolled on his condom, finally crawling over her once again. He kissed her jaw gently. "Are you okay with this?" he murmured.

"Yes," she whispered with absolutely certainty.

Meliodas kissed her lips again, sweetly twining their fingers together and holding one hand above her head while the other held up his weight. Her own free hand came to rest on the back of his neck.

He adjusted quickly, lining himself up to her. "Don't hold your breath," he muttered before pushing forward gently.

Suddenly, she knew what he meant. The near-painful stretching almost felt like a pelvic exam, but worse. She made sure to keep her breathing deep and even, and when he was all the way in, she held onto his shoulder. "Just wait a second," she whispered, voice tight with discomfort.

He shuddered but nodded his head.

Elizabeth took in all the feelings she was experiencing one by one. The burning she felt in her core, good and bad. The sensation of the tops of his thighs against her own inner thighs, her legs pushed out, feet resting against his lower back. The powerful muscle she grasped in her hand. All of it was almost overwhelming, but once she was used to the feeling of him, she relaxed a bit and looked at him. His jaw was locked again, eyes searching her face. "You can move now, Meliodas," she murmured. "I'm okay."

"Thank god," he breathed, taking his chance and pulling out, then pushing back in.

Elizabeth took another deep breath and pushed through her tenderness. She knew it would get better soon. And as it did, her pleasure doubled, causing a moan to rise in her throat. Her eyes closed in bliss.

His thrusts were slow and steady, rocking their bodies together. His chest rubbed hers, the flat part of his pelvis brushing against her clit every time he reentered her. She squeezed his hand and moaned again, tilting her head back while arching into him. "Oh my god," she whimpered. "Meliodas... ahhh—"

"Fuck—Elizabeth," he panted, thrusting harder.

Yes, fuck Elizabeth, was the thought that came unbidden in her mind, causing her to whine and squirm under him.

Suddenly, he paused his rocking and scooped her up, sitting them both up in bed. With this position, he sunk deeper into her. Elizabeth released a long, throaty groan, arms wrapping around his shoulders. He buried his face between her breasts like before, licking the salty sweat from her chest. He grasped her hips and lifted her up as if she weighed nothing, then slid her back down. "Keep doing this for me," he muttered, continuing to lick and tease her chest.

She obeyed him easily, legs burning as she rode him slowly, enjoying the way it felt having him pay attention to every part of her body. His hands gripped her ass, teeth nipping the skin of her boobs, and cock absolutely sending her to sex heaven.

"Meliodas," she panted, "my legs are going to give out."

"Allow me."

He laid her on her side this time, hiking one leg up over his shoulder as he sat on his haunches. This time, when he thrust into her, it was harder than before. She cried out, hands grasping the sheets in front of her. "Keep doing that," she moaned. He honored her request and kept his pace short and hard.

He bent forward and whispered in her ear, her leg falling to the side so that they laid in their original position, keeping his pace. "You like that, Princess?"

Elizabeth's whole body flushed; she would be surprised if she wasn't as red as a tomato. "Yes," she answered softly.

He bit the shell of her ear briefly, giving her chills, before changing his pace again. This time he thrust quickly, drawing moan after moan from her. Her breasts bounced with each plunge, mouth parted widely in pleasure. Her hands gripped his forearms and nails bit into his skin, but he didn't seem to mind.

Soon, her body was building another orgasm. Her moans turned closer to sobs, legs shuddering with the memory of before. Her eyes glazed over, but she could still see his face, sweat trickling from his temple, mouth parted as his breathing came faster as well. Their gazes met for a second, and she felt one flush blend into the next.

"Come for me, Elizabeth," he whispered in a harsh breath. "I want to feel you tremble around me."

Her mouth dropped open in shock, eyes wide, but not a second later did her final orgasm hit her, slamming her with the force of a train as she threw her head back and wailed. Meliodas gave a long groan and thrusted a few more times before he rested inside her, face buried in her neck, where her heart beat rapidly. Like he said, she trembled like a leaf in his arms, spasms of aftershocks racking her body.

A minute later, she was finally calm. They both relaxed against each other, her fingers trailing up his back lazily while he lay on her, breathing so deeply that she thought he might have been asleep if not for the occasional kiss he pressed to her neck. He was heavy, but she didn't want him to move; it was a comfortable weight.

"Are you okay?" he asked quietly.

"I'm wonderful, Meliodas," she assured with a blissful smile, staring up at the ceiling as their actions replayed in her head. "Thank you, for being so gentle with me," she said a moment later.

Gingerly, he lifted his head and looked at her, affection so apparent in his expression that her heart swelled. "You're welcome," he whispered. Then his eyebrows drew together and he frowned. "Why would you think I'd leave?"

Elizabeth swallowed nervously. "It's just... everyone else has," she shrugged, more hurt than she let on.

"I'll be right back." Meliodas pulled away from her carefully, leaving her suddenly feeling empty and a bit sticky. He went to the bathroom, scooping up his pants on his way, coming back with a towel and his lower half dressed. She blushed and wrapped it around herself, standing on shaky legs and taking her turn to head to the bathroom.

She closed the door behind her and rested her back against it, staring into the mirror, trying to find any difference. Other than the brightness in her eyes, she looked the same. Felt the same. But regardless, she was not the same. She'd just given her virginity to Meliodas, a man she barely knew. She didn't regret it. Having sex with someone as incredible as him must be an accomplishment in her book. She did regret, though, that she hadn't gotten to know him better first. But she supposed doing things backwards wouldn't hurt... She decided she would ask him out in the morning.

After cleaning herself up, she went back into the room, finding Meliodas laying on the bed curled into the fetal position and sleeping peacefully. She smiled, borrowed some clothes from Dianne, and crawled into bed beside him, sleep finding her quickly as well.

But when she woke the next morning, sunlight filtering through her eyelids, she was alone.

Elizabeth was eating a pint of cookie dough ice cream when Dianne came home. "Hey," she said with surprise, "I didn't expect to see you still here."

"Yeah, well... he left."

Dianne's eyes softened, making Elizabeth's tough exterior shatter as her chin wobbled. "I don't understand what went wrong," she sobbed, dropping her head into her hands. Dianne sat beside her on the couch and rubbed her back. "We has such a good night! He didn't leave a note or his phone number, and he didn't even wake me up to tell me where he was going... I know we aren't dating, but I thought he really liked me!"

"I'm sorry, Ellie," Dianne mumbled, pulling her into a hug and letting her cry into her shoulder. "I wish I knew what to do."

"I just—I just wish—I wish these guys would tell me what I did instead of just ghosting me. And I even had sex with this one!" Elizabeth cried harder. "I can't believe I did that with Meliodas. I didn't even know him."

"I know, Ellie. I'm so sorry."

Elizabeth took a deep, shaky breath. "I just want something meaningful, like you and King have. I'm—I'm so jealous of you, Dianne."

Dianne pulled back and gaped at her. "You're jealous of me? I'm jealous of you. You're so beautiful, and you could literally get anyone you want!"

Elizabeth sniffled and wiped her eyes with the heel of her hand, laughing sadly. "The guys I want don't want me back. Trust me, there's no reason to be jealous."

Dianne sighed and tucked Elizabeth's hair behind her ears. "Tell you what. I heard of a bar that just opened up a while ago. Let's go check it out tonight. It's Halloween night, so there's sure to be someone there you might find interesting. At least to make out with and get your mind off Meliodas." Elizabeth laughed again, feeling a bit better now that she'd cried and talked with her best friend. "I'll be your wing-woman. Now, lets go do some shopping therapy."

A few hours later, it was already nine and they had multiple bags of things they probably didn't need, all bought on her parents' credit card. She was eternally grateful that they didn't check it. Both the girls got dressed quickly. Elizabeth wore a short black halter dress and thigh-high black suede boots, leaving very little to the imagination. She almost pulled her hair up, but let it fall loosely down her back due to the cold. To complete her new outfit, she'd bought a long black coat to keep her warm.

Dianne wore her hair normally, in their signature pigtails, but she'd bought an orange body suit, in the holiday spirit Elizabeth guessed. It had capped sleeves and flattered her figure nicely. She'd also bought a long black coat, with matching black knee-high boots that had sinister spikes on the heels. Elizabeth already felt immensely more comfortable than she did at the costume party.

"Okay, let's go, Ellie."

They caught a cab to the bar, Elizabeth distracted by Dianne's naughty tale of her and King's night. As they walked along the sidewalk and into the establishment, they laughed. "No way, he said that?!" Elizabeth squealed.

"Yes! And he—"

"Hi, ladies, welcome in."

Elizabeth's blood froze. She turned her head to look into the eyes of Ban, who stood behind the bar, cleaning plates and glasses. "Can I get you anything," he said with a confused lift to his eyebrow, "or are you just gonna stand there and stare at me?"

Heart racing, she glanced around the bar. It was at half capacity, noise generally low for a Saturday night. It was only nine-thirty, though. Decoration was old-style, like a tavern, with wooden tables and chairs, and a wooden bar, where Ban still stood, expecting an answer.

"Ban," Elizabeth finally choked out. "It's good to see you...here."

"Um. Yeah?"

"How's Elaine?"

"She's good. Are you gonna order something?"

"You know what?" Elizabeth laughed nervously and scratched the back of her head. "I think I'm in the wrong place. I should get going. Come on, Dianne."

"Hey, wait a sec!"

Suddenly the door to the bar opened with a ring from the bell above it. Elizabeth's heart skipped a couple beats as she heard the voice coming from behind two boxes the person held. "Hey, Ban, I'm back with our backups."

"Thanks, Captain. By the way, this is Elizabeth, Elaine's high school friend."

As Ban was speaking, Meliodas, dressed in green baggy capris and a white shirt with a green collar, had already set down the boxes and met her terrified gaze with intense shock. "Hey, Elizabeth," he breathed.

"M-Meliodas—hey, I—didn't expect to see you again!" she blurted.

"But, you're in my bar."

She flushed so hotly that it felt like the sun had touched her. She probably looked like a stalker, showing up in her one-night-stand's workplace. Why did this have to be the bar Dianne chose? She turned to look at her friend briefly, suddenly realizing that she meant to bring them here, judging by the smile hidden behind her hand. Elizabeth glared.

"Um, Elizabeth, there was actually something I wanted to talk to you about."

She shifted her gaze back to him. He was looking down and ruffling his already messy hair. Flashbacks of that hair between her breasts made her instantly angry. "Sure," she said flatly. If only to get closure, she'd talk to him. "I'll deal with you later," she snapped at Dianne, who only giggled afterwards.

Elizabeth followed Meliodas into the back of the bar, where his office was located. It was surprisingly organized and neat. He sat on the desk, cross-legged; the vision of comfort, except she could see the tension in his shoulders. She sat in the chair beside him, almost loathe to be near him. "What did you want to say?" she asked with a bit of sharpness to her tone.

"I'm sorry."

She narrowed her gaze at the floor, corners of her mouth drawn down. "For what? You don't owe me anything. We didn't agree to date, so I don't see what the problem is, right?" She knew she basically answered for him, but she was too angry to care.

"No, I... I said I wouldn't leave, but I did." His voice was soft, making her glance at him hesitantly. "I didn't want to, but my brother called me at four in the morning. He was drunk and would have driven home with his friends if I didn't go pick them up. And later that day I was going to ask King where Dianne lived so I could see if you were still there, but nobody answered me. I was actually hoping you would show up tonight. I hoped you remembered. If you didn't, I was going to come find you."

Elizabeth blinked and took a shaky breath. "So, it's... nothing I did?" she whispered.

"What?" Meliodas hopped down and kneeled in front of her, hands on her knees and staring up at her with a horrified expression. "No, no. Of course not. You could never do anything wrong, Elizabeth. You're perfect."

Tears welled in her eyes. "I can't believe I've been crying over nothing all day," she giggled, water tracking down her cheeks.

Meliodas stood and pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. "How about you give me your phone number so this doesn't happen again?" Elizabeth mumbled, fingers playing in his blonde hair.

He laughed lightheartedly. "I think that would be a very good idea," he agreed. He pulled back a bit, tucking her hair behind her ear. "You look stunning, by the way," he murmured, one hand fluttering over her ass.

She grinned and kissed him, tasting a tinge of ale.

A knock sounded at the door. "Ellie, are you okay?" Dianne called through the wood.

"Hold on," Elizabeth said. She peeked her head out the door and smiled at Dianne. "Thank you," she said with a peal of laughter. "You knew, didn't you?"

Dianne smiled widely. "I just had a feeling. I'll be out here enjoying my food."

Elizabeth closed the door and turned back towards Meliodas, a lustful glint in her eye. "Have you ever had sex in your office?"
