Masterpiece

Summary:

“Kingscholar, please hold still. I was almost done.” Malleus confidently said, though it was rather frustration of getting his hand’s position right.

Leona opened one eye, raising an eyebrow as he took in the cross-legged Malleus, sitting in front of him with a book and pencil. He groaned, regardless, settling back into his previous position to do Malleus a favour. “What are you up to this time?” He spoke with a little smirk, eyes closing again as he wanted to give himself some space to fully wake up.

“I thought you appeared as quite the artistic subject, thus I felt intrigued to draw you.” Malleus said, focus turning back to his paper.

Work Text:

Malleus held the books under his arms, treading the botanical garden with careful steps. His heels clicked gently against the cobble as he followed the gentle purring of a familiar lion. It wasn’t a scheduled meeting, rather Malleus wanting to accompany Leona with whatever he may have been up to at the time, even if it was only for a little while.

Leona was found lying on the grass, sideways with his arms wrapped around his own head. Perhaps it was the sun falling through the glass panes, or the way skin on his waist was exposed due to the button-up having crawled upwards under the position, but Malleus caught himself a little enamoured. Leona’s hair was left in his natural state, a large amount of curls falling over his shoulders and his lips slightly parted in feminine grace.

Malleus wished he had held onto a camera, longing to capture the peaceful beauty that Leona portrayed in all its glory. He looked around, strangely praying for a fairy Godmother to come grant him one. Instead, eyes were destined to trail down to the book he was carrying in his hands. It was for botanics classes, filled with drawing assignments about the floral reproductive and vegetative systems as well as fungus’ spores.

Malleus would never consider himself an artist, yet his enjoyment for consuming art was undeniable. There was a little hesitation, however, for it may be awkward if he could not capture Leona’s essence or perhaps humiliate himself if the subject were to catch him.

A little cautiously, he settled himself a few metres apart from his partner. Comfortably sat on the grass, Malleus retrieved the school’s art supplies from its pages and started sketching. It wasn’t entirely realistic, perhaps an artistic interpretation, but it was Leona undoubtedly.

Though somewhat surprised that the scratching of graphite against paper didn’t wake him, Leona had started squirming after about forty minutes, deciding his nap was over.

“I didn’t know you did art.” Leona mumbled, letting it all happen. It made him feel royal, having someone admire him like this, though as it was coming from Malleus, he would never admit such.

Malleus scoffed, “It was impulsive. If I wanted a proper model for my drawings, I would have asked Schoenheit.”

Despite everything, they still couldn’t last five minutes with at least one of them making a provocative or snarky comment towards the other. Leona held back from shifting his posture, much rather wanting to jump Malleus right there and then. “Come show me when you’re done.” He lastly grunted, seemingly falling a little closer to unconsciousness once more.

It took about ten more minutes before Leona suddenly felt two hands on his body, forcing him to lay on his back as weight was put on his stomach. Malleus had gone to sit on his abdomen, the tip of his knees touching the grass. The artist held out his workbook on the page where he had drawn the sleeping lion, two joyed eyes peeking above it.

Leona was quite intrigued, once more reminded that Malleus’ age had caused for a handful of skills that never took off to a full fledged hobby. It was a little cute to see how Malleus saw Leona, having put in extra effort in creating larger lashes and conveying the plumpness of his lips more. To Malleus, the Savanaclaw prince was someone of perfect feminine and masculine balance, attractive even in his worst moments.

His lips curled slightly upward, shifting his view to the slightly excited fae. “I look good.” He placed his arms above his head, inviting Malleus to lean downwards. Even if the art truly was impulsive, he had not come here for no reason.

Malleus put the book aside, pushing his fingers between Leona’s hand, lowering himself to meet with the lips that had been staring at him throughout the sketch. Malleus' lack of self control caused him to bite on Leona’s lower lip for a short moment, raising the intimacy of the moment a little further. There was a slight glow in his green eyes, projecting his cravings of wanting to kiss even deeper, bite harder.

Take it further than a simple ‘good to see you again’ peck.

“Mal…not on school grounds,” It was a soft tone, yet a little scolding, as if Malleus was supposed to care for the reminder, “someone could walk by.”

“How can I not, Kingscholar?” Malleus was turning warm, in body and expression. It was as if falling in love all over again with him, watching his expression melt just from touching the stray strands of Leona’s hair that hung in front of his face. “You are an art piece, sleeping while soaked in the sun as if meant for your photograph to be hung in a museum. Please tell me your family has made royal portraits of you, I would offer a fair price.”

Malleus was… a lot. Especially to someone who wasn’t good at handling public affection like Leona. Embarrassment blended into his emotions, actually stuttering as he was unable to handle Malleus’ admiration nonchalantly. “M-Mal. Enough… you’re going to ruin my reputation.” His head fell sideways, avoiding Malleus’ glaring eyes.

“My words are only in earnest, I assure you. I just… wish to love you.” Malleus removed the hair around his neck exposing his skin, “May I?”

Leona felt helpless, not in the way that he was trapped, but he was effectively being toyed with. Every inch of his body was trying to remain composed, not wanting to humiliate himself further by appearing needy, but… Good lord, was he weak to this.

There were moments where Leona would take all of Malleus’ praise with ease, no shame in any of his actions or words. However, the simple thought about one of his dormmates stepping around a corner, seeing the leader they admire so much flustered and embarrassed because of some simple admiration. It was scary, exciting, conflicting all at the same time. “Make it quick.” Leona whispered, wanting to come across willing yet composed simultaneously.

“As you wish, my prince.” Malleus whispered back, biting down on the exposed nape with his fangs. It always stung at first, but once black lips engulfed it, placing deep kisses around it, Leona felt lost in the feeling.

A tingling feeling ran across Leona’s body, yet he managed to keep himself unresponsive, aware it was also not to give the fae too much satisfaction in his stupid little schemes. If Leona were to play along too much, Malleus would only try more and more. Anybody would lose their sanity to Malleus Draconia’s raw and unapologetic displays of affection.

Black lipstick, a mark and a little bit of blood was revealed as Malleus pulled back. He threaded his fingers through Leona’s thick hair, pulling it forward and over it. “Now, nobody has to know.”

Leona chuckled, “You’re making it sound like it looks even worse than what it felt like.”

“It is not as bad as you may believe. If I am being honest, I think it may even add to the art that is you, Kingsc-” Malleus received a fist to his shoulder.

“I’m not stupid!” Leona tried to push Malleus off, even if it was still with a smile, “Now you’re just out to bully me.”

Malleus gasped as fake as he could, “I would never.” He chuckled, standing up and wiping his clothes clean from the botanical garden’s gifts.

Once Leona had stood up too, he pulled the arrogant Malleus down by his blouse for one rough peck on his lips, “Love you too.” He mumbled, wiping the black lipstick off as he left the fae standing in the garden, smiling with his head tilted.
