Work Text:
It’s date night, and Yoongi is late.
Yoongi is never late for their dates. After nearly a year of dating, Yoongi has always been nothing but punctual in meeting Jimin or picking him up from their shared apartment after work. But now, Yoongi has started a new project for the city and it’s really keeping him busy.
Jimin stews in his own rage as he watches the clock tick the time away. He doesn’t bother texting his alpha. Lord knows what kind of stupidity he’d end up sending. It’s something he’s learned to control, that anger fueled first text that always ends up in him trying to fight with Yoongi, and Yoongi just…taking it. He never fights with Jimin, he just lets him vent until he wears himself out and then apologizes to him or lets Jimin apologize when he belatedly realizes he’s been the dumb one all along.
It works for them.
But this… this is unforgivable.
The clock finally ticks over to 8 p.m., an hour after Yoongi was supposed to pick him up for dinner and Jimin gets up off the couch to go change out of his date night clothes.
As he’s tugging on his pajama pants, he hears the door to their place open and shut and then he hears the shuffle of slippers on the floor as Yoongi rushes into their bedroom.
“Baby!” the alpha says, when he sees Jimin climbing into bed. “Jiminie, I’m so sorry my love. I swear I didn’t mean to be late. I got caught up in–”
“The project, I know,” Jimin says, not bothering to look up from his phone where he’s pretending to scroll.
He feels the bed dip on his side and Yoongi’s large hand lays atop his thigh, giving it a light squeeze to get his attention.
Jimin finally looks up, seeing Yoongi through blurry eyes.
“Oh, my Jimin. I’m so sorry. Please don’t cry.”
“I’m not!” Jimin wipes furiously at his treacherous eyes and hides his face in a pillow.
“Baby please. We can still make dinner somewhere.”
“I’m not hungry!”
“Jimin,” Yoongi’s voice is almost desperate. He knows he should be understanding but…
“You didn’t even text me!” Jimin’s voice comes out muffled but Yoongi hears him well enough.
“My phone died.”
“Well, charge it!”
“I promise I will. I’ll take a power bank too. Just… can you please look at me?” Yoongi pleads.
Jimin finally looks up at his boyfriend, face soaking wet in his tears.
Yoongi really does look regretful. He cups Jimin’s wet cheek and frowns. “I’m sorry baby. I’ll never miss date night again. I swear. We got caught up in the project and when I looked at the clock it was already half past seven. I didn’t even think, I just ran out of the office and tried to come back as fast as I could.”
Jimin knows very well who he means by we . Yoongi’s been promoted to project manager at his architectural firm and now he’s overseeing a new project with his new partner Lee Sung-kyung, a gorgeous omega who looks like she should be modeling for magazines and not designing buildings.
But he can’t say that to Yoongi otherwise he’ll notice . Jimin met her once at a company dinner which Yoongi took him to and she was so tall and regal that Jimin felt so tiny beside her. He could see why alphas would salivate over her. She’s the perfect omega, and Jimin’s always just been a beta.
“Should we order takeout and watch that new drama everyone keeps talking about?” Yoongi asks with that cute pout that Jimin can never resist.
“You’re buying,” Jimin pouts right back.
“Of course, my love,” Yoongi nods gravely. “Can I kiss you now?”
Jimin looks up as if considering, even if he’s dying to kiss his boyfriend, until finally he nods. Yoongi lunges forward, making Jimin yelp and kisses his face silly. He kisses his mouth, his cheeks, his nose, until Jimin is a giggling mess, fighting for breath, and Yoongi smiles at him fully forgiven.
ㅁ
True to his word, Yoongi is never late for date night again, but that’s only because they haven’t had a date night in two weeks.
Yoongi comes home late nearly everyday but he does manage to text Jimin throughout the day with updates. Jimin replies curtly to show how upset he is, but Yoongi never seems to take notice. It drives Jimin crazy.
Yoongi should be groveling at Jimin’s feet right now, not texting him, telling him he’s going to be late yet again.
“He doesn’t love me anymore,” Jimin cries to Taehyung on the phone.
“Jimin you’re being ridiculous,” his friend says on the other end of the line. “That man loves you more than anyone has ever loved anyone in the history of the world.”
“Not to the point of invention.”
“He built you your dream nesting bed from scratch. In an apartment. That you rent! And that he pays for!”
“You don’t get it Tae!” Jimin rolls off said bed, ignoring his friend entirely. “Yoongi used to come home at exactly the same time every single day. He used to bring me flowers just because! This promotion has ruined us. Romance is dead!”
“Didn’t you say he wanted this promotion so he could buy you guys a house soon?” Taehyung asks through a mouthful of whatever he’s eating.
Jimin’s tummy grumbles suddenly and he remembers he hasn’t had dinner yet. Yoongi used to be the one to make dinner.
Hyu . ㅠ
“Whatever. I’m just going to go back to the lab and check on my samples. I don’t want to be here in an empty apartment waiting for an alpha who may or may not want me anymore.”
Before Taehyung can call him dramatic, Jimin hangs up and runs to put on his shoes. At his cancer research lab, he’s been running an experiment on beta mice and he needs to check their progress anyway.
He hops on the train to the university at which he’s been working the last few years and tries to disconnect from his own thoughts for even just a minute. He doesn’t tell Yoongi that he’s left, opting instead for pettiness and childish revenge on a man who has been nothing but good to him since the first day they started dating.
But we’re not here to talk about that.
Working really does put his mind at ease and he ends up getting so distracted that he doesn’t notice the thirteen missed calls from Yoongi or the three from Taehyung. Nor does he get to see the increasingly frantic texts that read:
Baby, where are you?
Baby?
Jimin…
Hey, I’m getting worried
He doesn’t even notice the lab door opening at 9 o’clock at night as a worried Yoongi walks in to check that his boyfriend is in fact alive and well and not missing or lying in a ditch somewhere.
“Jimin?”
Jimin jumps in his chair, pen and clipboard flying out of his hand.
“Fucking hell!” He nearly screams and finally, he sees Yoongi standing in front of him. “Are you trying to kill me!”
“No, I was making sure you were still alive, actually,” Yoongi says.
“Well,” Jimin says, heart still racing, “I’m fine.” He turns to pick up his pen and when he goes for his clipboard, Yoongi already has it in his hand. There’s that familiar look of worry in his face that he gets whenever he thinks Jimin might be coming down with a cold.
“Baby, what are you doing here? Why aren’t you at home?”
“I came to check on the mice,” he replies, pouting, unable to meet Yoongi’s eyes.
“At 9 pm?”
He shrugs and mumbles something Yoongi probably can’t hear, forcing him to come closer. “What was that, love?”
“I said I got bored at home.”
“Ah. Is it because I wasn’t there?”
“No! It has nothing to do with you,” Jimin says indignantly, although it has literally everything to do with Yoongi and nothing at all to do with anything else. Obviously.
“Park Jimin,” Yoongi says in that deep husky tone that drives Jimin crazy, especially in bed. He comes closer to his boyfriend and brushes his soft pink strands out of his face until he cups his cheek, forcing Jimin to finally look him in the eye. “I’m sorry I’ve been getting home so late.”
“It’s whatever,” Jimin shrugs.
“Mmm. I think it’s more than whatever.”
“My world doesn’t revolve around you hyung, I’ll have you know. You can get home at any time you like. Like I said, whatever.”
“Well, my world does revolve around you so whenever you’re not feeling okay, I’m not feeling okay. So, can we please just talk about this?”
Jimin doesn’t want to talk, he just wants the problem resolved without having to go through all the mushy shit because he knows he’s going to end up embarrassing himself and crying about something so silly and he’s afraid Yoongi will think he’s being childish and leave him.
An omega wouldn’t do this to their alpha.
“Baby?”
He heaves a great watery sigh and shuts his eyes to keep the tears at bay.
“Fine,” he says. “I hate that you’re getting home late and I didn’t want to be in our apartment all alone. I miss you.”
Yoongi puts his forehead on his boyfriends and gives him a tiny kiss on the nose, making Jimin draw a shuddering breath.
“I miss you too, my love. I promise you it’s just for this project. Afterwards, I’ll catch a break.”
“How long is this stupid project going to last?” he whines. Yoongi’s other hand goes to his waist, keeping him in place, because he probably knows that Jimin will want to try to run away.
“Just until the end of the month I swear.”
“Do you promise?”
Yoongi nods and gives him a chaste peck on the lips that Jimin can’t return.
“I have a surprise for you.”
He looks at Yoongi skeptically but doesn’t say anything.
“Once the project is over, the boss invited all of the managers and their mates to a cabin retreat! It’ll be at the end of next month.”
He smiles his beautiful gummy smile at Jimin and tells him the dates of the retreat.
Jimin doesn’t remind Yoongi that they’re not mates. That they can never be mates because he’s a beta and he and Yoongi can’t bond the way other couples can.
He also doesn’t remind him that his little getaway trip falls exactly on the day of their first anniversary.
ㅁ
The drive up to the cabin is short enough but incredibly scenic. Jimin looks out at the forest landscape in awe despite himself. The trees grow taller by the mile until they tower over them, nearly obscuring the winter sun. As if in defiance of the bitter cold, the trees remain clothed in the bright greens, oranges, and reds of fading autumn.
Jimin really didn’t want to come on this trip, what with Yoongi forgetting their upcoming anniversary but he can’t help the bubble of excitement that grows in his belly at the thought of spending a weekend in such a beautiful place with his love. Maybe it won’t be so bad after all.
When they finally arrive, the cabin is more like a mansion than what Jimin had initially envisioned. His eyes nearly pop out of his skull when he looks upon the house with its glass windows and crystal chandeliers and fur rugs that hang like tapestries upon the walls.
“What is this place?” He breathes but Yoongi is speechless at his side.
Little by little, cars pull up into the driveway until five cars have parked next to them, including some couples with cute pups who run around excitedly.
Finally, Yoongi’s boss, Son Minkyu, parks his giant SUV and out of it, like a demon clawing her way out of the depths of hell, comes Jimin’s most favorite person in the whole world— the omega Lee Sung-kyung.
He fights off an eye roll as she makes her way over, smiling blindingly at Yoongi and offering Jimin a once over before Minkyu is ushering them all inside.
“Make yourselves at home," he says happily. “Sung-kyung will assign your rooms.”
“Right this way oppa!” she says cheerily to Yoongi and Jimin’s inner beta rumbles menacingly in response.
Yoongi gives him a confused look before Jimin tempers his raging jealousy, giving Yoongi a stiff smile and taking his hand before following the omega.
“You’ll be sleeping in this room, Yoongi oppa, Jiminssi.” She sweeps a hand across the air dramatically as they walk into the large room. “Isn’t it perfect?”
“Wow,” Yoongi says, eyes growing wide as he takes in the impressive decor that matches the rest of the house. Jimin doesn’t pay it much mind as his eyes follow Sung-kyung make her way about the room, imbuing her scent onto everything he touches.
She turns around all too quickly and catches Jimin staring at her. “Love your sweater by the way,” she giggles, giving Jimin the fakest smile he’s ever seen. “Blue is so your color.”
He doesn’t say anything, choosing to ignore her jab and fully regretting the stupid sweater, vowing to burn it when he gets home. Yoongi nudges him lightly and when their eyes meet, he glances back at the omega. Jimin frowns as if he can’t understand what Yoongi is trying to tell him even if he absolutely knows that Yoongi wants him to be polite and thank her (but he wouldn’t do it if they held him at gunpoint). He and Yoongi are connected— Jimin can practically read his mind, but he plays dumb and doesn’t say anything earning him a disapproving frown from his boyfriend. It makes his heart sink a little.
“I made sure you had the best one,” she says walking even further into the room before them, opening closet doors and drawers. Jimin scrunches his nose in annoyance because he can already smell her cloyingly sweet scent as it permeates the air mixing with Yoongi’s. He hates it because they complement each other’s so much and he doesn’t even have a strong enough scent to drown hers out.
“Thank you, Sungie,” Yoongi says and Jimin’s head whips around to his boyfriend who is only looking at the omega with a soft smile.
What the fuck did he just call her?
“We’ll see you in a bit for dinner.”
“Of course! Goodbye, Jiminssi,” she says bowing deeply at Jimin who doesn’t bother to return the bow.
“Are you alright, baby?” Yoongi asks as soon as the door closes behind Sung-kyung.
Jimin does his best to school his features and give the alpha a polite but measured smile.
“Perfect, why?”
Yoongi frowns, contemplating Jimin for a second and just as Jimin’s afraid the plaster in his fake smile will begin to crack, Yoongi shakes his head.
“Do you want to go explore a little?”
And risk running into little miss perfect? No thanks , Jimin thinks.
“I’m a little tired. I think I’ll just take a nap. Do you want to–”
“Oh.” Yoongi says. “Okay. I’ll go by myself then. Rest up baby.” He leans in and gives Jimin a quick kiss on the temple before turning around and walking out the door without a word.
“Join me…” Jimin finishes in a tiny voice. He looks at the empty space where Yoongi just stood and then to the bed where he should be cuddling with Jimin.
This was going to be a long weekend.
ㅁ
Dinner is held in the largest dining room Jimin’s ever been in. The wooden table is large enough to fit all five families and then some and the food could probably feed a third world country. It’s lavish and excessive and Jimin wonders exactly how his soft spoken and shy alpha ever got invited on this trip to begin with. Yoongi isn’t anything like these people, but Jimin has a sneaking suspicion it’s because of the omega who is trying to be casual about the way she keeps glancing over at them.
“Are you feeling better, baby?” Yoongi whispers in his ear as Jimin cuts into his food.
“Better?”
“You were tired earlier.”
“Oh. Yeah.”
Jimin frowns. He hadn’t waited for Yoongi to get back to the room, still upset over being ditched for the house tour. Instead, he’d snuck out and into the backyard forrest and walked along the edge to clear his head.
When dinnertime came around he found Yoongi looking for him and they walked together wordlessly into the dining room.
“Minkyu said that tomorrow they’re going on a hike through the forest. Sounds fun, right?”
Not really.
“Yeah,” he says, trying to match Yoongi’s smile, and hoping that his quiet scent doesn’t sour.
Maybe it could be fun; Jimin really wants to take in the scenery, but if Sungie is going, then maybe he should just stay home.
No! You can’t let her have him Jimin! he scolds himself.
You’re right, me! I can’t!
Lord, he’s losing hit.
“Very fun, hyungie.”
Yoongi’s smile widens to the point of showing his gums and Jimin feels a rush of love course through him. That smile is all he ever wishes to see. That smile is only his.
“There’s this waterfall we’re hiking to that–” Yoongi begins.
“Isn’t that right oppa!” A shrill voice cuts through what Yoongi was saying and they both turn to find Sung-kyung looking expectantly at him.
“I-I’m sorry? I didn’t catch that.”
“Oh, I was just telling Minkyu oppa about the time we stayed so late the cleaning staff locked us in the building and we couldn’t get out!” She throws her head back laughing loudly. “I swear I thought we were going to have to sleep there, but luckily Yoongi oppa’s big alpha brain got us out of there. He basically carried me out, I was so nervous!”
“Carried–” Jimin starts.
“Uh, no, Sung-kyung that’s not how–” Yoongi speaks at the same time as Jimin.
“What do you mean you carried her?” Jimin turns to glare at his boyfriend but Yoongi’s already shaking his head.
“Uh, all I did was call the head custodian, Mark, remember I told you this story? He’s a buddy of mine,” Yoongi looks up to tell the few who are listening. “He got us out in no time. There was no carrying of anyone.” Yoongi frowns at the omega who continues to laugh and shakes her hand at them.
“No, of course not! I just meant I was a nervous wreck and oppa was so good to me.”
Bile bubbles in Jimin’s stomach and his appetite instantly disappears as he looks at the omega who flashes him a smile. Yoongi’s trying to talk to him, no doubt trying to explain what actually happened, and sure, Jimin believes him. Of course he does.
He does.
But that doesn’t stop the tears from stinging his eyes and the rage from boiling just underneath his skin.
He feels a warm hand wrap around his and turns to find Yoongi smiling softly at him.
He can’t even fathom those hands touching someone else as tenderly, let alone an omega.
“I’m ready for bed,” Jimin says in a low voice and Yoongi immediately nods.
They bid the table goodnight, with almost everyone protesting about drinks and being on a trip and not having to work the next day, but Yoongi only smiles and waves them off.
They walk in silence back to the room, Jimin’s hand in Yoongi’s but tonight it doesn’t fit like it should. Where Yoongi’s grip is always firm and steadying, this time, it feels too loose, and Jimin feels entirely untethered. He tries his best to ignore the feeling as they enter the room and go through the motions of getting ready for bed, but it stays with him like a looming cloud.
He climbs into bed, relishing the feel of the soft sheets and fluffy pillow, succumbing to the exhaustion that accompanies sadness and closes his eyes.
He feels Yoongi’s soft touch at his neck and opens his eyes to find his beautiful alpha watching him with tender eyes.
Yoongi leans down to give him a soft kiss but Jimin lets himself hesitate, pulling back infinitesmally and it doesn’t go unnoticed by Yoongi.
“Is everything okay?” he asks.
“Y-yeah. I’m just–”
“Tired?”
Jimin nods and accepts the chaste peck Yoongi gives him before he slides further into the covers. “Do you still want to go on the hike tomorrow? It’s pretty early,” Yoongi says, keeping his voice low.
“Of course. I’m excited for it,” Jimin replies in a whisper.
Yoongi’s eyes linger on his for only a second, and Jimin thinks that maybe he’s about to say something, but the moment passes and instead, he turns around to shut off a small lamp on the bedside table. They’re engulfed in darkness before the moonlight streaming in through the window offers them her muted illumination. Yoongi’s back is to Jimin as he settles in for sleep and Jimin feels a giant divide between them as he stares at his silhouette.
He slides forward and wraps his arms around Yoongi, drawing flush against his back and squeezing him tightly, as if he could fuse both of their bodies together into one. He feels Yoongi’s soft chuckle and then his boyfriend is turning around and wrapping Jimin up in his safe embrace, like he does every single night and it feels right.
Earlier was just a fluke.
Being in Yoongi’s arms doesn’t feel loose; it makes Jimin feel secure and warm and loved.
Jimin nuzzles his nose into the crook of Yoongi’s neck, inhaling his calming cedar scent, letting it wash over him, wash away all the insecurities he’s been harboring all day–all month.
“I love you,” he says into Yoongi’s warm skin and notices Yoongi’s scent swell and intensify at his words.
“I love you more,” he hears his hyung say. Once again those damning tears threaten to fall but he doesn’t let them. Instead he focuses on the beating of Yoongi’s heart at his ear and lets it lull him to sleep like a metronome as it settles into a steady rhythm until his eyelids are too heavy to keep open and he finally lets sleep consume him.
ㅁ
Jimin can feel Yoongi’s eyes on him as he dresses for the hike. He’s ready, long dark hair picked up in a half knot atop his head, gray sweatpants on, and his favorite pair of New Balance tennis shoes tied.
Jimin as it was, hadn’t packed much to go hiking in so he’s forced to don one of Yoongi’s pair of sweats that fit him just a bit too loose; nothing compared to the way they hug Yoongi’s hips.
“Ready,” Jimin says and turns to look at his boyfriend with a smile. “What?” He frowns when Yoongi gets up off the bed without a word and approaches him. He combs Jimin’s hair back with his long fingers and ducks down to give him a soft kiss.
“What was that for?” Jimin asks through a giggle.
Yoongi shrugs a little as if to say just because and even if his touch is gentle, the look in his eyes makes Jimin’s skin flush.
“Can I scent you?” he asks and it catches Jimin by surprise. It isn’t like Yoongi’s never done it. In fact it’s a daily thing he likes to do. What surprises Jimin is the fact that he’s asking him at all. A few months into their relationship, Jimin had told him he never had to ask, that Jimin was his to do with as he pleased.
“Of course. You know you don’t need to ask, hyungie.”
Yoongi dips his nose to Jimin’s neck and begins to scent him, but it isn’t the quick scenting he does in the mornings when he’s rushing off to work.
He takes his time now, inhaling deeply, one hand sinking into Jimin’s hair at the nape of his neck where he holds him firmly, the other holding his hip. He takes a step closer and Jimin is forced to take a step back until he hits the wall behind him and still, Yoongi draws nearer. His lips graze the sensitive skin below his ear where his scent is strongest making him gasp.
“Hyung,” Jimin whimpers as he feels a shock run through his entire body when Yoongi begins to kiss his scent gland in earnest, sucking and licking on it until Jimin’s legs turn to water.
“You smell so fucking good,” Yoongi says in a gruff voice, hot breath fanning over Jimin’s skin. Jimin’s hands move of their own accord as they wrap around Yoongi and pull him closer until they’re touching everywhere.
“Baby,” he says breathlessly, remembering they have something to do. “The hike.”
“Fuck the hike,” Yoongi says kissing his way up Jimin’s neck, his jaw, until he’s capturing Jimin’s lips with his in a heated kiss.
Jimin moans at the feel of Yoongi’s tongue snaking into his mouth, at the slide of their lips and the way his heart hammers in response to the alpha’s touch.
Their scents swell around them, combining in a delicious hazy fragrance that has Jimin writhing under Yoongi, desperate to feel more.
“I wanna taste you,” Yoongi says, hands coming down, roaming and touching what’s his until they settle on Jimin’s waistband.
Jimin is too delirious to remember how to speak so he just nods, wanting nothing more than to feel Yoongi’s warm mouth around him.
His boyfriend drops to his knees and as he’s about to pull Jimin’s sweats down a sharp knock makes them freeze.
“Oppa! Jiminssi! We’re about to leave. I hope you’re ready!”
“Fuck,” they say in unison and Jimin’s never hated anyone more than he hates her right now.
“Coming,” Yoongi shouts, still kneeling in front of Jimin who scoffs.
“I’m clearly not,” he mumbles darkly. Yoongi laughs a little, sneaking a kiss onto Jimin’s exposed tummy and gets up.
“Raincheck?”
Jimin heaves a sigh, but nods. Yoongi kisses his pout away which does nothing to help both their hard-ons.
“How are you going to hide that!” Jimin asks, pointing to the bulge in Yoongi’s sweats that makes his skin tingle at the sight of it.
Yoongi picks up an extra large hoodie, tosses it to Jimin, and shrugs one on himself, making sure it covers what it needs to.
Jimin does the same, sighing dramatically again and curses the entire Lee clan for ever having created that stupid cock blocking omega.
ㅁ
He still feels discomfort in his pants as he walks out of the room behind Yoongi, only to find Sung-kyung waiting for them in the hall.
“My room’s right here so I figured we could walk out together,” she says, smiling too-sweetly at them.
Of course it is, Jimin thinks bitterly.
“Minkyu oppa and his wife are already in the foyer waiting for us.”
Jimin can’t help but rake his eyes over her perfectly fit body, noticing how her hiking shorts hug her curves in all the right places. Her top is low cut, serving to accentuate her breasts.
He wants to roll his eyes at how cliche it all is, trying to ignore his raging jealousy, but stops when he sees Sung-kyung’s caught him staring. A furious blush paints his cheeks and he quickly takes Yoongi’s hand and starts walking.
Not everyone has joined them for the hike and he doesn’t blame them. The sun hasn’t even risen above the tree line, but it’s bright enough for them to follow the winding trail up the small mountain.
He and Yoongi walk in comfortable silence for a bit taking in the beautiful scenery. Fog shrouds their feet in a light gossamer veil that swirls as they step through it. It’s cold but not as cold as Jimin expected and his body delights in it as he grows warm with the effort it takes to climb upwards. He can hear the sing-song chirping of birds hidden in their nests amongst the trees that give off the sweetest scent of pine.
If Jimin were alone with Yoongi, it might be the perfect morning. Had they finished what they started earlier, that is.
He feels just a bit comforted in knowing his boyfriend still wants him, at least in that way.
Still, that doesn’t stop him from glancing at Sung-kyung who keeps a close pace with them, noticing how even her walk works to accentuate her body. Alphas must drool over her all the time.
He suddenly feels frumpy in his oversized hoodie and too-big sweats. Maybe he should have worn something tighter, shown his assets.
“Eomma look!” They hear a tiny voice call from behind and when they turn they find a boy of about five years old jumping up and down and pointing at something in the trees.
A pretty bird with a red spot on its crown perches upon a thick branch, chirruping as it observes them.
“He’s cute,” Yoongi says at Jimin’s side and when he turns to his boyfriend, he sees that he isn’t looking at the little bird but rather at the pup.
Jimin looks back at the little one who giggles and jumps around now joined by his even tinier sister who stands enthralled by the little bird.
Yoongi’s eyes are full of wonder as he looks upon the children and Jimin’s heart sinks to the pit of his stomach.
In the last year that they’ve been together, they’ve never talked about having kids because it’s obvious that Jimin can’t have any, being a beta. Selfishly, he never once considered that Yoongi might want them, but of course he would. It’s his alpha instinct to knot and to breed an omega, isn’t it?
“I want to have a whole litter of them,” he hears Sung-kyung say and her gaze mirrors Yoongi’s. It’s the first time Jimin’s heard her voice sound so sincere.
It makes Jimin pause. Could it be that Yoongi’s been spending so much time away from him because he’s been drawn to her as an omega? As a potential mate?
The thought alone makes him instantly sick to his stomach. He’s holding Yoongi back.
“Hyung,” he turns to his boyfriend but he’s still enthralled at the way the pups run around, chasing the bird that’s taken flight.
“Hyungie,” he says again and finally he gets Yoongi’s attention.
“What’s up baby?”
“I think we need to ta–”
“So, Jimin. It’s Jimin right?” Their heads whip to the side to find Minkyu walking towards them.
He nods and the alpha smiles widely at him. “Yoongi here tells me you’ve been together for a year already. You haven’t mated yet?”
“Sir–” Yoongi says, clearly caught off guard by the question.
It’s an innocuous enough question of course, a common thing to ask a couple that’s been together for a while, but it’s always been such a sore spot for Jimin and he knows Yoongi knows that too.
“Uh,” he begins trying to find a way to respond, but a squeeze to his hand tells him that Yoongi doesn’t want him to say anything. That he doesn’t have to if he doesn’t want to.
“Better hurry, Min, otherwise someone will snatch him right up. He’s a pretty little thing.”
“With all due respect sir, I don’t think that’s an appropriate thing to say about him, or anyone.” Yoongi says instantly, frowning at his boss. Jimin wants to tell him that it’s alright, that he should let it slide because this is his boss, but Yoongi’s never been one to keep quiet like that.
Instead of getting mad though, his boss throws his head back roaring with laughter. “That’s why I like you Min. You don’t hold your tongue for shit. Now you better hurry up, Jimin, before another pretty omega comes along and takes your man.”
“Come on, yeobo!” The alpha’s wife comes to the rescue, grabbing the man by the arm. “Leave the kids alone, you greasy old man.” She turns to them with a half apologetic, half annoyed look and shakes her head. “I’m so sorry. He drank a lot last night.”
Jimin suddenly wishes he had drank too.
“I’ll talk to him again when he’s sober,” Yoongi says, clearly annoyed as everyone resumes walking. The waterfall Yoongi wants to see isn’t too far now Jimin assumes because when he peeks below, he can see a basin of pooling water.
“It’s okay, hyung I don’t think he meant any harm. At least he called me pretty,” Jimin jokes trying to ease the obvious tension.
“You liked that?” Yoongi asks frowning at Jimin.
“What?”
“You liked that he called you pretty? I mean you’re the prettiest, but–”
“I was joking!” Jimin laughs, bringing his hand up to cover his mouth. “Obviously it was weird.”
“Right,” Yoongi says and drops the subject, taking Jimin’s hand to help him as they walk over an area with loose gravel.
“Hyungie, are you j–”
A yelp cuts him off and they turn to find Sung-kyung sprawled on the floor clutching her ankle.
“Ow!” she cries out as she tries to get up, arms encrusted with tiny pebbles that dig into her skin.
The rest of the group are already too far up the trail for them to call them back, so Jimin begrudgingly, feeling guilty for even hesitating, rushes to her side.
He can feel Yoongi following next to him.
“Are you alright?” Jimin asks, crouching down in front of her.
“My ankle.” Her eyes brim with tears when they meet his and he genuinely feels sorry for her. “I twisted it.”
Jimin looks around and spots a large rock on which she can sit and looks at his boyfriend.
“Let’s get her over there, hyung” he gestures to the boulder.
Yoongi nods in agreement and together they help Sung-kyung get up, throwing an arm across each of their shoulders. He’s instantly attacked by that sickly sweet scent of hers, like overripe fruit, that makes his stomach churn.
They take a step forward but she stumbles.
“Ow!” She cries again and nearly slips back down.
“I can’t put any pressure on it,” she pouts, tears streaking down her cheeks.
Jimin doesn’t tell her all she has to do is hop on her other foot and they’ll do the heavy lifting.
“Maybe if you carry me…”
Jimin’s eyes widen at her absolute audacity. I’m right here! And she has the nerve to ask his boyfriend to carry her? Oh, he should shove her off the fucking cliff for that! Who the fuck does she think she is? This no good, cock blocking, two faced–
“...Jiminssi.”
I’m sorry what?
“What?”
“Will you carry me?” She gives him her poutiest pout and leans further into him, making him stumble a little with her weight.
“I–”
“Please?”
Jimin squints his eyes at her, wondering what the hell her angle is? Is she trying to befriend him so he can let his guard down and strike? What a snake!
“Please? I’m really light, I swear,” she says and he looks up at Yoongi who frowns slightly as he assesses them both.
“Your call,” Yoongi says.
“S-sure,” Jimin finally says because yeah he might be jealous and suspicious as hell, but he’s also not a monster and it’s obvious she’s hurting.
And better he carry her than than Yoongi.
“You can climb on my back.”
He turns around and crouches down for her to wrap herself around him.
“You’re so strong,” she says when he picks her up, nearly tipping forward and face-planting with her weight. He’s never piggybacked anyone taller than him, or anyone at all for that matter.
He was made to be carried for crying out loud.
“Thanks,” he mumbles, shuffling as fast as he can toward the rock. It’s difficult not to slip on the gravel with the added weight and when his foot gives out, Sung-kyung tightens her arms around him, dipping her face into his neck. He flinches away and slips again.
“You okay?” Yoongi asks, walking close enough to catch Jimin if he falls too.
Jimin nods, grimacing a little but finally makes it to the rock and practically dumps the omega onto it, glad to be free of both her weight and her cloying scent.
“I don’t think she’ll be able to walk on that,” Yoongi says, glancing at her swelling ankle.
“I won’t be able to carry her all the way down!” Jimin cries, but instantly regrets it when the only other option would be for Yoongi to do it.
“Let me call Minkyu and see what we can do,” Yoongi says already pulling out his phone.
After a short call, Yoongi comes back looking more than a little put out. “Minkyu says that nobody’s at the house since everyone else went into town, but that they have a wheelchair in one of the unused bedrooms that belonged to his grandmother before she passed.”
The rest goes unsaid but Jimin knows well enough that one of them is going to have to climb down and then back up with that damn chair, and it’s going to have to be Yoongi because there’s no way he’s leaving his boyfriend here with her alone.
“Baby, I– will you go get it?” Yoongi asks and Jimin’s jaw unhinges, drops to the floor, and rolls all the way downhill at the sheer audacity of the alpha.
“You want me to go get it?” He asks just to clarify, just to know he’s heard correctly.
Yoongi nods but his eyes don’t meet Jimin’s, glancing over at Sung-kyung instead and something in him breaks. Yoongi wants to be left alone with the omega. All this time, he knows his insecurities has been making him come up with ridiculous ideas about Yoongi wanting an omega, but this… This feels too real now.
Well Yoongi can go f–
“No.”
“No?”
“No. You can go get it. I’ll wait here with her.”
“You want to stay here? With her?”
Jimin purses his lips and nods.
“But, Jiminie, you’re much faster than I am.”
“I’m tired. You’re the strong alpha here Min Yoongi and I’m just a weak little beta. You go get it,” Jimin says forcefully.
Yoongi looks between Jimin and Sung-kyung but sighs resignedly when he realizes Jimin won’t budge. “Alright. I’ll be back as soon as I can. Please call me if you need anything.”
He gives Jimin a final loaded look before starting back down the trail.
He watches Yoongi begin to jog down the trail, suddenly afraid that Yoongi might get hurt if he isn’t careful. It’s too late to call him back though. In hindsight, Jimin thinks he probably is faster and much more lithe than Yoongi and could have made the trip in a lot less time than him, but because of his insecurities, he’s now forced to sit here for more than an hour with the omega who’s trying to take his man.
“You’re not an omega?” is the first thing out of her mouth as soon as Yoongi is out of sight.
Lord help them.
He turns around and walks to the rock, planting himself right next to her.
“Nope.”
“You look like one.”
He frowns. “What’s that supposed to mean?” he says a little harsher than he had meant to.
“I only meant that you’re so…pretty,” she says sincerely and he doesn’t detect any jealousy in her tone.
“Oh. Thanks I guess.”
“So, Yoongi oppa is with a beta. That’s interesting. No wonder I couldn’t smell you.”
“Mmm,” Jimin says noncommittally. And then, just to piss her off he adds, “Yoongi can smell me.”
He looks over his shoulder at her but she’s looking at where Yoongi disappeared from, probably wishing he was here instead.
“Betas can’t have pups with alphas can they? Only with omegas?” she asks absently after a second and he blanches.
He doesn’t answer the obvious but she’s undeterred. “Do you think Yoongi wants pups? Alphas usually do don’t they?”
Her ability to strike right where he’s most sensitive is scarily accurate. “Do you want pups Jiminssi?”
“I’ve never thought about it,” he answers honestly because if he says he does, she could only drive the knife in further.
“I’ve always wanted pups. My last partner, he was a beta too. He didn’t want them.”
For only a second, Jimin feels almost sorry for her but he can’t help the nagging feeling of suspicion that surges whenever he’s around her.
“It’s too bad you can’t with Yoongi. You’d make the prettiest babies. I imagine you were really cute as a pup, Jiminssi.” Her eyes finally meet his and he can’t quite read what’s in them. “Maybe one day if you two break up…” She begins but the look in Jimin’s eyes makes her pause.
“We’ll never break up,” he says but the words come out flat and he can’t seem to inject any conviction into them.
Maybe one day if we break up… Yoongi will find an omega who can give him pups.
Was that what she was going to say?
“Life is full of unexpected turns,” she says finally, almost in a whisper.
They’re quiet after that, Jimin fending off the swell of emotion that threatens to choke him at the realization that he and Yoongi will never get to know what their children would look like, sound like. Would their future home become quiet after years of being together, their own laughter growing muted, with nothing to fill the void when it’s gone?
Would Yoongi leave him then? Would he look for someone else, like Yijeong had?
Minutes go by and after an eternity, they hear a rustling behind them. When they look up, they see the rest of the group finally coming back down the trail. Jimin’s never felt so much relief in seeing a group of strangers in his life.
Sung-kyung climbs onto Minkyu’s back and they meet Yoongi halfway down the trail. Minkyu’s wife pushes her the rest of the way down.
Jimin doesn’t talk to Yoongi as they walk, even though he knows he needs to. All the words he needs to say tangle and get stuck in his heart, creating a painful knot that festers as the day wears on.
He’s quiet during lunch and before Yoongi can invite him out to explore the town, he’s making excuses about feeling tired and wanting to go to sleep early.
Yoongi joins him this time and when he tries to hold Jimin close, Jimin feels the chasm between them yawning ever wider, and he knows it’s his fault.
He doesn’t sleep that night and midnight finds him taking the same trail as the day before, just as the moon finds her perch over the forest. Coupled with his flashlight, it illuminates his path enough that he makes it up the mountain unscathed. Save for his heart, of course.
The waterfall stands proud and he watches as the water foams at its basin, wondering just how far the fall is to the bottom.
He’s resolved to talk to Yoongi now, but what he’ll say, he’s not sure. He doesn’t want to break up with him. That would surely kill him…but what if Yoongi’s the one who wants to end things?
He shuts his eyes tightly as the waterfall’s roar echoes in front of him. The rushing water is so loud that he doesn’t hear the footsteps behind him until it’s too late.
“Jiminssi?”
He turns around to find Sung-kyung standing in front of him, perfectly able to bear her own weight.
“What are you doing here?” he asks, stunned.
“I followed you.”
His instincts kick into overdrive, forcing him back as the omega takes a step forward. “What do you want Sung-kyung?”
“It’s Sungie.”
His eyes narrow as she comes closer still and stops only a foot away from him. She’s driven him against the railing and he has nowhere to escape to now.
“What do you want?”
“I just want to talk.”
“About?”
“I’ve seen the way you and Yoongi oppa have been the whole trip,” she says without much preamble but Jimin should have suspected this is what she wanted to talk about.
He frowns. “What exactly have you seen?”
She shrugs, looking away from him and out at the waterfall. “You two are having issues, right? Isn’t it your anniversary?”
How the hell would she know that?
“We’re not having issues,” he spits defensively. “And that’s none of your business.”
“Then why are you here by yourself instead of in his bed?”
Her question leaves him cold, unable to respond, as if he’s been dropped into the icy water below.
“Don’t you feel it? How strange it is? You’re a beta, Jimin and betas aren’t supposed to be with alphas. It’s not right. You belong with an–”
“Stop! You’re nobody to tell me who or what I belong with. Yoongi chose me! He loves me ! And if you can’t deal with that then that’s a problem for you and your therapist.”
She takes his hand in his and he’s too stunned to pull away. Her eyes bore into his, her scent swelling nauseatingly around them, caccooning him in it and he can’t fight it off with his own. “You deserve better, Jimin. I…”
She reaches for his face and before Jimin has a chance to react, her lips meet his in a kiss. Immediately, he pushes her away, too stunned to say anything except, “Stop!”
“Jimin?” he hears and turns to find Yoongi looking between them wide eyed.
“Yoongi,” he breathes, realizing that he must have seen everything. “Hyung she–”
“Yoongi oppa!” Sung-kyung beats him to it. “Jimin kissed me!”
“What? No! No I didn’t. Hyung, I swear!”
That crazy bitch. How could she say that? Jimin is so dizzy with the whiplash from the last minute that he doesn't even have the capacity to understand what is going on. All he knows is that he needs Yoongi to believe him.
“Hyung, I swear–”
“You need to leave, Sung-kyung.”
“Oppa, listen to me. Jimin and I–”
“Now.”
Yoongi speaks to the omega in a measured voice, but Jimin can hear the alpha dominance beneath his tone. Its effects are instantaneous and Jimin watches Sung-kyung fight against it and lose, throwing a vicious glance at them before stalking away.
“Hyung, you believe me right?” Jimin pleads, tears brimming in his eyes.
“Of course I do, Jimin,” Yoongi says heavily, but he remains where he stands, not coming closer.
“I would never do that to you, Yoongi.”
Yoongi only nods, still looking away from Jimin.
“Hyung–”
“I think we need to talk,” he says and Jimin’s heart stutters at the words.
This is it.
He stays quiet because he knows what’s coming, he just can’t believe Yoongi wouldn’t wait for them to get back home.
“I know that lately things have been a little off, especially since I got that promotion,” he begins, and there’s a bitterness to his scent that makes Jimin’s nose prickle. This is the most serious he's ever seen Yoongi look and his heart clenches in his chest, fear gripping him so tightly it threatens to choke him.
“Had I known this would happen, I never would have taken the job,” he continues. “I swear to you Jimin, I never meant for this to happen. I never meant to make you want to pull away. I didn’t think a month of late nights would push you away like it did, but you’ve been acting so cold and distant that…” Yoongi’s voice catches at the end and he takes a deep breath to calm himself. “You don’t talk to me and when I ask you what’s wrong you just tell me you're tired. Baby, you’ve been so distant.”
Jimin instantly realizes just how dumb he’s been. Instead of simply talking with his boyfriend he’s made Yoongi feel just as insecure as he’s been feeling.
“What I just saw only serves to emphasize my point. You’re so special Jimin, you could have anything and anyone you wanted and I don’t want to be the one to hold you back. And if you think that this, what we have, if you don’t want this anymore, if you don’t want me then–”
“You said that you believed me,” Jimin tries to speak around a sob, not believing what he’s hearing.
“I do, I swear but baby what am I supposed to think when all you do is run away from me?”
Jimin’s been selfish. He’s been so caught up in his own head, in his own insecurities that he never stopped to think about what he was doing to Yoongi.
“Yoongi, I love you more than I can even express in this language or any language in existence. I thought you were the one who had moved on from me. I thought you had fallen for that fucking girl and it was driving me crazy.”
Yoongi frowns but let’s Jimin finish.
“Thinking you were falling for someone else had me so fucked up I wanted to push that omega off this mountain. I considered murder because of you!”
Yoongi pauses for a beat before coming a step closer. “So you don’t want to break up?”
“No!”
“Fuck,” he breathes and it's the sigh of a man delivered, granted absolution. He surges forward and wraps Jimin up in his arms, burying his face into Jimin’s neck, whispering 𝑓𝑢𝑐𝑘 𝑓𝑢𝑐𝑘 𝑓𝑢𝑐𝑘 over and over into his skin. His grip tightens when Jimin’s arms wrap around him and he cradles Jimin, scenting him.
“I thought–” he chokes out, unable to say the words again and Jimin can feel his hot tears wet his skin. His heart breaks over and over as he realizes how much he’s been hurting Yoongi.
Finally, when Yoongi detaches himself from Jimin, his face is flushed, cheeks stained wet with tears that continue to fall.
Jimin’s hands reach up on instinct, thumbing away Yoongi’s tears as he tries to soothe him. He lets his candy sweet scent engulf them and he can see Yoongi physically relax.
“How could you ever think I’d want anyone other than you Jimin?”
Jimin shuts his eyes tightly, rubbing a hand across his face. “I thought…ugh! I thought you were connecting and spending time together after work and that’s why you were coming home so late.”
“You thought I was cheating on you.” It isn’t a question but rather a statement, spoken in the most broken voice Jimin’s ever heard and Yoongi takes a step back.
He knows how bad that sounds, how offended Yoongi must be to think that Jimin doesn’t trust him. He does. He knows that Yoongi isn’t that kind of man at all, but Jimin lives with his past hanging over him and no matter how secure Yoongi’s always made him feel, he thinks he might not ever get over what happened with Yijeong. But that isn’t fair to Yoongi. Yoongi isn’t Yijeong.
“No. I know you would never cheat, Yoongi. I know that. I just thought…I just thought maybe I wasn’t enough and that you needed more than what I could offer.”
There’s undiluted pain in his boyfriend’s eyes and Jimin feels like he’s the one who’s betrayed him.
“Don’t you trust me, Jimin?”
Jimin’s nod is immediate because he does. He wholeheartedly does.
“I hope that one day you realize that nobody will ever measure up to you and what you mean to me. I hope that my love is enough to remind you of that every day.”
“It is enough. I swear. I’ve just been so jealous and stupid and blind. I’m so sorry, hyungie.”
“What could you possibly have to be jealous about, Jimin? You’re perfect. Why would you think I’d ever be interested in anyone other than you? Have I not proven to you how much you mean to me? How much I love you?” He sounds so hurt and Jimin hates himself for being the reason for that pain.
“I’m so sorry I doubted you. I know you would never. I just thought you…” Shame floods his entire body at how stupid he’s been but he needs to tell Yoongi everything. He doesn’t want to keep anything to himself and have the unresolved insecurities petrify within him. It would only cause more problems in the future.
“I thought that after having met Sung-kyung, this perfect omega, that you had changed your mind about being with a beta. Then when I saw you looking at those pups I realized… Hyung, I can’t give that to you. I can’t give you pups and I never asked you if you wanted them and I’m so selfish and–” He bursts out crying then, his tears coming in a gush to rival the waterfall behind them. “She said alphas and betas don’t belong together and that if I couldn’t give you pups then we should break up.” He sobs as everything that has accumulated in the past few days bursts forth, uninhibited.
“And! You forgot our anniversary!” he wails.
Yoongi wraps him up once more in his warm embrace and Jimin comes easily while Yoongi’s scent blooms around them and Jimin inhales it like an addict.
His alpha whispers reassurances into his hair, kissing his temple and rubbing his back. “Jiminie, none of that matters to me. You’re more than enough for me.”
Jimin whimpers and shakes his head. “I saw the way you looked at them.”
“Because they’re babies and babies are cute. I know that we can’t have that and I don’t care unless it’s something you want. If you do, then there are other things we can do to try.” He pulls away slightly, keeping Jimin close, but looking into his eyes. “Do you hear what I’m saying Jimin? You’re all I’ll ever want and all I’ll ever need. Everything else is just extra.”
“So you don’t want her?” He asks thickly.
“No! Of course not! She’s just a colleague!”
“I hate her,” Jimin pouts knowing he sounds a little childish but he can’t help it.
“Honestly, so do I now. I can’t believe she fucking kissed you,” Yoongi growls and there’s murder in his eyes. Jimin feels a thrill travel down his spine at the thought that his boyfriend might be just as possessive as he is.
“I love you Jimin. Always.”
“I love you too, Yoongi.”
“And,” Yoongi says, letting go of Jimin to reach a hand into his pocket. “I didn’t forget our anniversary. I was hoping to do this yesterday actually. Hoping we could sneak away from the group and come to the waterfall before everything happened. I guess it was stupid of me and I should’ve put more thought into it, in hindsight,” he says to himself. “I just didn’t want to wait and it’s so pretty here.”
He pulls out a little black box, lifting it up so Jimin can see it properly, and opens it.
Jimin’s eyes blow wide when he sees a silver ring encrusted with diamonds all the way around.
“Maybe this is the least romantic way of doing this, but I don’t want to wait anymore,” Yoongi says voice thinning out with emotion. He backs away a little, getting down on one knee and takes Jimin’s hand with his free hand. Jimin still can’t quite process what’s happening.
“I bought this ring the day after our first official date because I knew then that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you.” Yoongi says. “To be honest, I knew you were the only one for me the day I met you. I saved this ring for so long because I wanted you to be sure of your heart, to give you a chance to truly know me and yourself with me. I should have asked you a long time ago, so that you knew that it’ll only ever be you.
“I love you so much, Jimin and I know that maybe we can’t mate traditionally, but I still want the whole world to know who I belong to. Eternally. So,” he takes a bracing breath. “Park Jimin, will you marry me?”
Jimin doesn’t even wait for Yoongi to finish his question before throwing his arms around Yoongi, toppling them both to the ground. He kisses Yoongi once, twice, three times and hugs him so tightly before finally saying, “Yes. Of course I will,” through tears of joy and relief.
Yoongi lifts himself up to take Jimin’s hand and smoothly slips the ring on his finger. Jimin throws his arms around him again, inhaling his lovely cedar scent. He’s been so silly, to the point of almost ruining the best thing that’s ever happened to him, but he swears to Yoongi that he’ll always tell him what he’s feeling from then on.
“If this marriage is going to work,” Yoongi says and the word sends a thrill through Jimin. “We need to say everything.”
“I promise.”
“I can’t believe you thought I could ever like anyone that isn’t you,” Yoongi says in a low voice once they’re back in the warmth of their room.
“It’s her fault! She was throwing herself at you.” Jimin pouts, staring at his new ring, the weight of it, a comforting reminder of Yoongi’s promise. “I thought she was sweet on you. You even wanted to stay with her while I got the wheelchair!”
“I only asked you to go because…” Yoongi trails off, sighing heavily.
“Why?”
“Baby you’re so oblivious. She likes you .”
“Come again?”
“She doesn’t like alphas.”
That’s not possible. She was so obvious in her flirting and wanting to be close to Yoongi. Except…
“Why do you think she asked you to carry her? She’s uncomfortable around most alphas. She even kissed you!”
“That doesn’t make sense! She doesn’t even know me!”
“First of all, if it’s not love at first sight with you then people are lying.”
“Shut up!” Jimin laughs.
“But really, she’s a huge flirt with omegas and betas, even at the office, but I never made anything of it until I noticed the way she watched you these last few days. It was different too. It was weird. I didn’t want to come off like some jealous and possessive alpha who thought he could control who you talked to but fuck I’ve been annoyed with her all weekend. And when you told me that you’d rather stay with her than go back down to the house…”
“You were jealous?” Jimin asks, fighting off the smirk that threatens to grow into an outright smile of pure smugness.
“I’m sorry.”
“What for! Maybe I like you being a little jealous. It’s hot.”
“You won’t like it if I’m growling at every person that approaches you.”
“Maybe not, but at least growl at the assholes who think they can take me away from you,” Jimin teases, still in disbelief at what Yoongi said.
“Let’s not talk about that anymore,” Yoongi says, coming closer to him and there’s an instant shift in the air between them. He takes Jimin’s hand, the one with the ring, intertwining their fingers together until their palms are flush against each other.
“I love you,” Yoongi says, voice raw and eyes dark. “Let me show you how much.”
Jimin shivers at Yoongi’s words, at the way his fingers graze the inside of his arm, petal soft. He draws closer to him and their lips meet, barely a brush of skin on skin and Jimin feels instantly hot all over.
Yoongi’s lips kiss the corner of his mouth, his jaw, behind his ear, down his neck and Jimin becomes a quivering mess in his hands.
“Yoongi,” he breathes as his husband-to-be begins kissing every inch of his neck.
“You’re so beautiful Jimin,” he says reverently and Jimin wonders how he ever thought to doubt his love. Yoongi is all his; Yoongi is home .
Jimin pulls Yoongi’s face up so that their lips can finally meet in a devouring kiss. He slides his hands into Yoongi’s hair, reveling in the softness of it. It’s been so long since they’ve been like this that he feels nervous and giddy like the first time and yet nobody has ever made him feel as safe as Yoongi does.
He remembers their first date, Valentine’s day and how in love he was already. Just last week they celebrated that first meeting with a small dinner and Jimin had feared the worst. Today he’s more sure of Yoongi’s love than he’s ever been sure of anything in his life.
As Yoongi’s kiss deepens and his touch becomes more firm, Jimin can feel himself filling up to the brim with his love, overflowing with it. Yoongi is always so gentle with him, so achingly loving, and nothing will every compare to his touch.
Yoongi backs Jimin up until his legs hit the dresser and in one swift movement, Yoongi lifts him up and sits him atop it. Jimin gasps as Yoongi goes back to kissing his neck, and sucking on the sensitive spot just behind his ear. His candy scent blooms with every lick, every suck of Yoongi’s mouth and he knows he’s going leave his mark on him. The thought alone has him slicking his pants.
“Baby,” he says in a needy whimper and Yoongi, being the doting alpha he is, doesn’t need to hear more. He captures Jimin’s lips in a feral kiss before his fingers expertly latch onto Jimin’s waistband, pulling down his sweats in one move.
Jimin lifts his hips a little so Yoongi can take them off and then he’s removing his own. Jimin pulls Yoongi’s shirt over his head before taking off his own and finally, they’re both laid bare before the other. Yoongi wastes no time in capturing Jimin’s lips once more.
“Yoongi,” Jimin begs.
“What do you want my love? I’ll give you anything you want.”
“You,” Jimin says, breathless already as he looks at his beautiful alpha, eyes drinking in his perfect porcelain skin. “I want all of you.”
“You have me,” Yoongi breathes into Jimin’s mouth, biting his bottom lip before slipping his tongue inside at the same time that he aligns himself with Jimin.
Jimin’s body is ready, opening wide for Yoongi and he has no problem thrusting inside filling Jimin up entirely.
Jimin lets out an airy moan as Yoongi’s hips begin to roll, keeping a soft and steady pace, nothing hurried. He’s simply relishing the way Jimin feels around him, drinking in his moans of pleasure. His hands roam all over his soft skin, and his mouth maps out a pattern of pure love everywhere it kisses and bites and licks.
“Mine,” Yoongi says as he pulls on Jimin’s hair, exposing his lovely neck. “All mine.”
“Bite me,” Jimin begs him in his delirium. “Mark me.”
Yoongi’s teeth ache to do as his mate says, his alpha instinct overcoming all his senses. He opens his mouth wide and claims Jimin as his. He doesn't know if the mark will take as it would with an omega, but right now, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that Jimin knows that Yoongi would never want another but him. And that even after their bodies have turned to dust, their bond will go on.
His pace picks up, as they reach the edge together. Jimin’s eyes open for a second and land on the door that’s slightly ajar. He gasps when a pair of eyes lock with his, wide and frozen. He blinks and just like that, the eyes are gone.
“Hyung” he moans. “She, ah, she saw us. The door…” He can barely speak as Yoongi’s thrusts turn unforgiving, and he pushes into him harder, faster.
“Good,” Yoongi growls, face buried in Jimin’s neck, licking at the bite. “Let her see that you belong to me and only me,” he says possessively and the shock that runs through Jimin’s entire body goes right between his legs.
With a scream, Jimin’s coming undone entirely, crying out as Yoongi’s thrusts turn erratic, pounding over and over and for a second Jimin is afraid they’re going to break the dresser until finally, with a growl, Yoongi goes over the edge and Jimin is sure the entire house must have heard.
He doesn’t care though. He wants them to know that it’s only Yoongi who can ever get him there, that Yoongi is proud to call him his.
No matter what insecurities he might face in the future, Jimin now has more than enough proof that Yoongi was made for him. His soulmate, his alpha, his one true mate.
And that’s all Jimin will ever need.
