Work Text:
“And she’s okay?” Mai asked, possibly for the nth time. She could see the repetitiveness of her questions cause Rock’s brows to pinch together.
He sighed, then angled the tablet's camera to the crib where a baby girl lay, fast asleep. It marked the third time, he had done Mai this curtesy and it eased her maternal heart something fierce. Temporarily of course because motherhood tended to make people go loopy.
“Looks fine to me,” Rock said, quiet but easygoing once he turned the screen onto himself. “She’s really quiet for a baby.”
Mai couldn’t help herself from smiling like a goof. “Heheheh, Geese said she got it from him. You were much the same way, he says.”
Rock’s cheeks flushed a bit and a weird sound burst out of him. Right. Suppose the precarious bond between father and son was a little on the sensitive side still. Since Eri’s birth, there had been a tremendous amount of progress but there was still a long way to go. But at the very least, you couldn’t say things had not gotten better between them. Certainly enough to the point where Rock agreed to travel across the pond with him and babysit his sister. Despite everything, he tried his very best to be a good brother and Mai wouldn’t want to trade it for anything.
There had been too much heartbreak and sorrow. For once in their lives, there should be light. Mai liked to think Eri was a symbol of that. It was a lot to put on a newborn but everything had calmed down after she was born. Sometimes, it felt as if she had become the sun and everyone else was just a star in her orbit. That was okay; she deserved all the love and attention she could get. She deserved a family that fought hard to keep her safe from the pain marring their lives.
Mai would go to the ends of the earth for this purpose. As a wife, as a mother, as a woman, she could not afford to do anything else than protect her family.
“Thanks again, Rock,” she said gently, catching him move out of the room with a baby monitor in hand. He stopped in what appeared to be the common room, possibly on his way to charge the tablet. He happened to walk past Yamazaki laying splayed on a couch with an arm over his eyes like he was sleeping and a thought crossed Mai’s mind like a flash of lightning. “Oh and how goes the cuss counter?”
“Still at zero. The leash I got him on is tight, so he makes really gross metaphors instead. He also told me in polite terms, by his standard, to ask for payment if he doesn’t break his stride,” Rock smirked. Good to hear. Geese and Yamazaki had made bit of a hostile joke bet on whether or not the latter could hold off cussing in front of a baby. Mai was mortified by the prospect of her sweet little girl having some kind of snaky drop of verbal acid from Yamazaki be her first word but Rock had assured her that he’d not let it happen.
“Of course he would,” Mai released a sigh of relief. “Keep it up and I might consider it. Talk to you tomorrow.”
Thus, the call ended there.
Mai put the tablet on the cushions next to her with a graceless groan. She pulled her legs up underneath her body and folded her hands in her lap. She was happy the dress was loose enough for her to do this. God, she hated those tight cocktail dresses, her stylist recommended to her. They were really pretty but uncomfortably restrictive. Anyway, there were about an hour and a half before they would have to leave so she had a bit of time to sit here and look pretty for no one in particular. Mere moments later, the door to the powder room opened and her husband stepped out, adjusting his tie yet again. Bit of a bad habit on his end.
Geese stopped as he laid eyes on her, shoving his hands down his pockets with a relaxed expression. “Kept you waiting, huh?”
“Nope! I mean, not by much. Just did a little check-up on Eri. She’s doing well,” Mai pulled the tablet to her lap so Geese could sit next to her. “I suppose I just worry too much.”
Yeah, that was putting it mildly. She had good reason to and she’d bite the ankles of anyone who told her otherwise.
Geese, for all he was worth, tended to be undoubtedly patient with her. Especially as she became a hyperactive mess of hormonal emotions during the pregnancy. Eating sushi with peanut butter and cottage cheese, and crying over cat videos withstanding. Goodness, she had been pathetic. Some of that residue shame probably spread across her face as she felt Geese wrap an arm around her shoulders and pull her close to his side, nuzzling the top of her head.
“You’re a good mother, Mai,” he said softly, stroking her skin. “She is blessed to have you.”
At times like these, it was so easy to forget the blood that stained his hands. Mai had come to accept this as part of her very abnormal life. That was okay; after all, she chose this and she didn’t mind, regardless of its trials and tribulations. That blood was a necessary evil to protect others. Besides, Mai always got such a kick out of watching Geese transform into the softest edition she had ever seen from a living human being around Eri. He took this second chance at fatherhood and ran with it.
“It takes both of us,” Mai reached for his hand and held it tightly between the two of hers, feeling the lukewarm ring on his leech finger. It wouldn’t feel right with either of them gone. Eri deserved both her parents. “You’re doing great.”
Geese pulled back, a little flustered despite himself and the relaxed smirk on his face. “Thank you for the glowing review, wife.”
“Teehee, the pleasure is all mine, husband~!” Mai purred, then moved to wrap her arms around his neck, kissing him delightfully. Instantly, it keyed him up and he put his hands on her hips, sliding up her hand right to the zipper of her dress.
If Mai had the power to manifest destiny, one of the things she would have done was take this business trip and morph it into a second honeymoon. But she could not manifest destiny and she could not do much with the legitimate side of Howard Connection’s businesses. All she could do was to be a good wife, budding businesswoman and accompany her husband on his entrepreneurial adventures. A strong foundation needed to be built, he’d say. One day, all of this would be Eri’s, after all.
Regardless, Mai forgot about all of that, pressing herself against Geese like she was daring him to pull up the skirt of her dress and have his way with her right here, right now. When she pulled back, he had the look of someone who was considering exactly that. His eyes had darkened with lust and he had to rub the lower half of his face like he was trying to regain restraint.
“Quick round?” Mai asked with a devious hint, smiling at the slight flinch that came over Geese.
“Ninety minutes won’t be enough,” he rose from the couch and headed to the walk-in closet where their luggage was, emerging moments later with a little black box and a fiendish gleam in his eyes. “There’s time afterward and I’ve been thinking of spoiling you a little before that.”
He said that like he needed to convince her. It was so endearingly absurd, Mai couldn’t stop herself from laughing. Deterred him none whatsoever. Geese stopped in front of her with the box and opened it, revealing a little red cylinder thing inside, propped up by small cushions. It had what appeared to be a little string attached.
“What on earth is that?” Mai asked.
“A vibrator.”
She stared at him disbelieving for a second before she said; “…It’s called Viagra, Geese.”
It was a complete joke from her end; he didn’t really have any issues in that department. But it was still a curious time to unveil a sex toy of all things. And Geese was dead set on it too, judging from the serious look on his face.
“You of all people should know how far beneath me that is,” he said with as much humor as a funeral for ten orphans in the dead of winter. “I know you get bored of the networking part of business or the afterparty. Especially given the tendencies of scrupulous men. I figured I’d make it a little less tedious.”
It was cute that he dressed it up like that when the real meat of the issue was his jealousy. Not that it was an issue to begin with. To most, he appeared a tad standoffish when in a foul mood but Mai knew him well enough to pick up on the subtleties of his cold rage. People getting a little close to her tended to be the biggest trigger. Someone could harm her, touch her, or overstep her boundaries. It had been a real fear for them both.
Mostly thanks to Wolfgang Krauser. That he was dead, eased the nightmares Mai occasionally woke up from.
“Making it fun would be a game of billiards or shogi. But I’ll take the sex toy too,” Mai purred, unsurprisingly tingly by the whole idea of this. At this point, she had come far in her recovery. There would be scars but those could be worked around.
Pleased with the answer, Geese descended upon her with one hand putting the vibrator in his pocket, then landing on her knee, stroking it slowly until he slid it further and further up her thigh and she lay under him. Her legs were bare, and his fingers were warm; it was a combi that began to make her shiver with anticipation. Geese with all his interest in her body was anatomical in his touches now. It was endearing as it was weird. There was way too much thought behind his voice for the thing he was doing currently. “You used to tell me how much you worried about your appearance after birth during those months.”
It completely threw Mai off guard. She let her hands rest on her collarbone, flustered all of a sudden. “Eugh…I gained weight. Felt like a whale so I worked like one to get it off.”
“I thought you looked nice,” Geese stopped as he looked at her. “But you always do.”
A flustered giggle burst out of her and her cheeks warmed. It was a bit embarrassing, but Geese looked amused by whatever energy he was getting from her. Trying her best to gather herself, Mai scrambled for a response. “W-well naturally! I pride myself on that. For you of course but mostly for myself.”
“As you should, Mai,” Geese said, old and wise, which was one of those moments that served to highlight the age gap between them. Not much of an issue or Mai wouldn’t have married the man. She closed her eyes as he shifted and leaned over her, nuzzling the top of her head and for a moment, it was so tempting to just toss that upcoming gathering out the window and stay like this for the rest of the night.
But they couldn’t unfortunately so Geese seized the moment and drifted his fingers closer to her groin, moving to kiss her so intently, she felt an amazing wash of heat surge through her. His fingers brushed against the surface of her thongs, then rested on the waistband.
Impatience got the better of Mai and she arched against his touch, very strongly and shamelessly turned on, only made more obvious as Geese slipped his hand under her panties and deliberately but very slowly stroked the shape of her pussy instead of going for the obvious. Still hungry for more, Mai sighed softly against him, and he nipped her lip to draw a little moan out of her and make her head spin. Geese withdrew his hand from her crotch and reached for the toy in his breast pocket.
In fact, he withdrew from her entirely, hunger burning in his eyes. It hadn’t really diminished any time they got intimate, even during Mai’s pregnancy which had in all honestly been one fear of hers. Perhaps it was due to the fact she tended to be hormonally aroused on top of hormonally emotional. Geese had been gentle with her regardless. Suppose that was bound to change but Mai didn’t mind; it felt nice and good and wonderful.
Oddly, it was somehow both similar to and wholly different from the brand of love, Andy would give her.
“If you win the game, I’ll reward you graciously,” Geese said with a playfully evil glint in his eyes. He sure wasn’t pulling any punches in his attempt to work her up and dammit, it worked because Mai could feel her body searing with anticipation.
In her haze, she could only nod. It was such a great thing she was lying down for this because she felt like melting, her legs quivering with yearning. With the vibrator in hand, Geese reached underneath her dress again, teasing her clit with light touches before he went to test her readiness. Mai couldn’t help herself from moaning as he teased her further and it occurred to her that she hadn’t been this wet this fast before. Maybe it was the exhilaration of this madness before them. Geese would also never consider this for any important arrangement anyway. But alas, it was one of those gentleman club types of meeting so naturally he just felt brazen.
“Looks like you’re ready, Mrs. Mai,” Geese said, his tone full of sadistic glee like a cat playing with a mouse it just caught. “This is going to be amusing, yes?”
“You-oh god!” Mai cried out, her mind short-circuiting as she felt the vibrator enter her fully. She clawed at the couch under her, then slapped a hand over her mouth while she adjusted to the sensation. She lay completely still, worried it’d slip out of her despite how full it made her feel. And yet, nice as it was, it didn’t quite match up to the realness of Geese’s…anything really. But she liked it anyway.
“Excellent!” Geese perked right up, tone light. He stood up from the couch and reached for his phone that lay on a nearby counter. “Now, let’s see if it works. Don’t worry about it slipping out. It’s designed to fit so long as you don’t spread eagle.”
He tapped on the screen for a few moments, then looked at Mai with one final tap that sent jolts through her. She sat up and clasped her legs together, gripping the skirt of her dress to keep steady as the pulsations worked her over. She moved her head down, melting into the sensation until she practically sat shaking at the feeling of it. She had to bite her lip to swallow any moans ready to escape her mouth and at the same time, caught how quiet the vibrator was.
A self-serving grin spread across Geese’s face as he tapped the screen a few more times and the vibrations simmered down to a gentle massage. “Looks like you’re ready.”
“Goodness, that is sadistic!” Mai let out a sigh as she stood up despite how wobbly her legs felt. She looked at her husband, a little winded from the experience.
“Yes,” Geese said, vicious with satisfaction. “It’ll be our little game. Try to find me when you feel a buzz. Game’s over if you ‘break’ so to say.”
Oh dear. Well, Mai couldn’t help but admire the thrill of this little adventure – even if she was a little neurotic over being discovered. “Wait, what’s the rules?”
Geese drew closer, drifting one hand to her face to cup her cheek, then the back of her neck to give her a brief kiss. “Keep steady. It’s guaranteed that everyone will be shit-faced so no need to be uptight. Be sure to try your very best though, wife.”
As Geese had mentioned, it was more of a frat party than a networking meetup for capitalistic purposes despite most participants being middle-aged men. It was a weird thing to witness when Geese was the youngest old man here yet the most composed. Looking at her husband, a sense of pride welled up inside of Mai. It was a vain thing to swoon over but she enjoyed the air of untouchable power and elegance the two of them exuded in any given room. No one really considered the fine line they walked between good and evil, surrounded by brutal carnage on one side and graceful sophistication on the other.
The Demon King and Queen of South Town, walking arm in arm.
“Shall we?” Geese grinned at Mai as they entered the main venue of tonight’s gathering. Several guests were already intoxicated – which was natural as most corporate discussions and partnerships had been discussed throughout the day over conferences and conventions. Regardless, Mai felt untethered when Geese removed himself from her side without any guidelines on what to do. Right, so it would be up to her to find a way to keep herself occupied while she got fucked from a distance.
First thing first was a drink, Mai decided, and she headed for the bar, ordering a simple cocktail. As she took her first sip, she nearly dropped the thing, feeling the buzz pulsate inside of her. A slow droning massage that shot heat to her cheeks. Discreetly, Mai took another sip and gracefully floated past guests with the occasional greeting like everything was fine. The room was modestly lit, casting its dour light on a sea of suits with the occasional dress here and there. Of course, Geese had decided to wear black tonight and he up and vanished as soon as he could. He was a tall man so she should be able to spot him but-
“Oh, Mrs. Howard! Nice seeing you tonight. You look lovely!” a voice, familiar yet annoyingly ill-timed greeted Mai from behind. She sighed softly against the vibrations tenderizing her cunt, then turned around when she felt comfortable enough to face Cheng Sinzan.
Never mind the nickname he suddenly decided to give her after the wedding. She had kept her maiden name actually.
“Thank you. It’s a pleasure to see you too,” Mai employed her military-grade corporate smile and tone. “You don’t happen to have seen Geese, have you?”
Cheng was already tipsy but he was far more functional than most present. “Hmm, good question. Can’t say I have. But anyway, I was thinking about diversifying my business. I’ve been getting into digital capital. You know, cryptocurrency!”
Oh, brother. Mai needed to find Geese and fast.
That thought came, and right behind it, a stronger buzz. This time, it felt like Mai’s mind was about to break. She gathered her legs together and nodded a farewell to Cheng, silently groaning as he followed her through the venue. “All the popular currencies have a catchy name and I’ve been meaning to make one of my own but the struggle is very real. How about Tubular Token? Or Cheng Cash? Maybe Noodle Coin?”
Mai bit her lip momentarily, then said; “Bastard Bucks. There’s your name.”
‘Bastard’ was the word that edged to the tip of her tongue thanks to Geese’s little game. Behind her, Cheng marveled at the name and he took another chug of his drink whilst Mai used the opportunity to scurry away from him. The vibration intensified then, and Mai sat down on instinct by an empty table, clutching the skirt of her dress. She sighed again and tried to get her damn head on straight as otherwise she’d only last a couple of minutes like this.
Yet it was so hard to not get overwhelmed by the sensation because Mai began to feel like she was about to explode. Already throbbing, she stood up, snatched her drink, and ventured out through the room once more. No one paid too much attention to her which was a blessing really as a neurotic thought began to worm its way to the front of her mind.
What if someone sees you?
What if someone touches you?
What if you-
Humiliation.
This made Mai stop where she was, hands clutched around the glass before she threw the rest of the drink down her throat. No, it was nothing like Wolfgang and she didn’t know why she was making that comparison. Well, she did, but it wasn’t a rational thought. For far too many reasons, the late Lord of Black had scarred himself onto her soul, tainting the very concept of intimacy for her. His abuse wasn’t an influence, but its memory was. Maybe, Mai considered in her increasingly intoxicated mind, this was Geese’s way of taking that trauma and the humiliation that came with it, then recontextualizing it where she was safe and in control.
They were gonna have a conversation about this.
Until then, Mai marched straight to the bar for another drink before reaching the end of the room where she pushed up a single door that led outside to an adjacent balcony overlooking the vast metropolis of London and its sea of light. At several hundred meters above ground, it was like looking at an ocean of stars – but not quite to the degree of Geese Tower.
Standing here looking at the city, it reminded Mai of the many conversations she’d have with Geese or Hein or Billy or Joe or Matilda at the tower’s top floor; light or heavy in equal measure. A surge of musing thought came over her to the point where she didn’t think about her current situation. Adding to the buzz of alcohol in her system, it was, for a moment, entirely possible to forget about-
A set of vibrations made Mai gasp in shock and her legs almost wobbled under her. She had to clasp a hand over her mouth when a soft moan threatened to break out of her. Her body felt like a piece of coal being continually fanned, burning, scorching, and overwhelming. She took another sip, then turned around to head back inside, resting a tentative hand on her stomach. Just to be sure, she looked around to make sure no one was gawking at her. More importantly, she continued to scan the room for even the faintest hint of a blue-eyed blonde man in his early forties.
Eventually, finally, she spotted him, speaking with or enduring the drunken ramblings of Cheng, who was a pleasant person all things considered. It was just that Mai could feel how wet her panties were and didn’t care about much else than finding her husband and getting that much-awaited release already. From where he stood, Geese laid eyes on her with a light frown like he was completely unaware of the sadistic little game he was playing. He huffed a practiced laugh to Cheng and it marked the end of the conversation with a few words exchanged that fell on deaf ears for Mai.
“Well then, it’s getting late, and I could do with some rest,” he said once she managed to get closer and watch him gesture to a bearded fellow at the bar talking with an uncomfortable bartender. “You might want to strike up a conversation with Mr. Darby over there. He’s far more involved in the digital money space than I am.”
“Don’t ya knock it ‘till you try it, old friend! The capital you’d get in digital media is endless. Online is where the money is,” even behind his sunglasses, Cheng got that look in his eyes whenever he smelled an opportunity to enrich himself. “Oh, we could launch a media startup! A few acquisitions here and there, some merging. Maybe a hostile takeover!”
“I’ll think about it,” Geese nodded briefly, nothing too enthused because the alliance felt like it had run its very short course. While Cheng fluttered to Mr. Darby which probably wasn’t his actual name, Geese sent Mai a diabolical smirk before he walked down a nearby corridor with a lot more speed than usual.
Determination set in Mai like a fever, and she chased after him with hasty steps, a rush of dread washing over her when she saw him with his phone in his hand, tapping away to intensify the jolts. Mai clenched the glass in her hand and stopped, her breathing descending into a tailspin. She took a deep inhale and steadily marched towards Geese and the self-serving smug grin on his face while he pressed the buttons to the elevator.
Infuriatingly lighthearted, he tilted his head and asked. “Funny seeing you here. How’s your evening, dear?”
Mai lifted her gaze, trying to hold herself firm while her brain devolved into scrambled eggs. “You, I-“
The elevator door opened, and Geese grabbed her wrist to pull her inside, nestling her against him right before she came desperately hard, muffling her cries into his chest, half in tears. The vibrations ceased then, and Geese wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing the top of her head.
“Good girl,” he murmured, gentle and irritatingly smug in the sexiest way possible. “You did well.”
“…Did…did I win?” Mai asked, too dazed to figure out the answer herself. He confirmed as much with a slight nod.
In the haze of her victory, she closed her eyes.
It took the journey to their room for Mai to resurface from the fog of the experience or more so the intensity of the whole thing. Geese would reckon that he had never been that brazen with her, and he’d go as far as to guess that other Bogard boy didn’t go to such lengths either. But Mai did not express distaste for their little adventure, and it was amusing to imagine her face while she struggled to keep her pleasure at bay.
It was exhilarating to watch the race between determination and arousal; which would come first, Mai or her limit? Maybe Geese should make it more difficult for her next time. Really work her to the edge, then watch her recover from that. But for now, he guided, or tried to guide, his wife to their bed although she didn’t need the extra help, opting to hand him her drink and change into a red chemise. The dress ended up on the floor and Geese sighed as he picked it up and folded it neatly over a nearby chair.
In the meantime, the drink had ended up on a nearby nightstand and quickly forgotten as Mai came to a stop in front of the bed and looked over her shoulder at Geese, her cheeks as red as the deepest pits of hell. “The vibrator-thing…”
“Lay down,” Geese said as he removed his tie and coat. He went about shutting most lights off in the room before heading for the bed where Mai now lay on top of the covers. Given the thinness of the chemise, Geese could see she had dropped undergarments completely in the gentle light of the nightstand’s lamp.
He swallowed hard and settled in front of her legs, hands firmly resting on her knees. “How was our little game, Mrs. Mai?”
She sighed and stared up at the ceiling. “You’re a sadist. But…”
“You liked it, yes? Or do you prefer me instead?”
A weird sound burst out of Mai and her face reddened even more somehow as she looked at him with a dazed nod and the most tender of gazes. “You still need to reward me for winning.”
Geese would happily oblige.
He slid his hands to her thighs, taking the skirt of the chemise along the way. Gently, she moved her legs apart for him. But only him. It was stupidly difficult to not embrace the urge to ravage her right then and there, but he’d need to take good care of her, gently stroking the skin above her navel – the faint traces of that awful burn mark. Geese tended to forget it was there most times, but he could never quite forget that there were circumstances that led to its existence.
As bitter as the memories were, valuable lessons had been learned from them.
Putting aside the memories of nightmares and long periods of uncertainty, Geese went to gently kiss Mai’s knees and the inner thighs, tracing a finger to her cunt, rubbing against her clit for a split second before he reached for the little handle of the vibrator and pulled it out slowly. A sigh fell from Mai as she closed her eyes, so she was still sensitive and very wet, judging from the state of the toy. He stood up from the bed and headed for the washroom despite Mai’s pleas to clean the vibrator and put it in its box.
It would come into good use another day.
In the meantime, Geese crossed the floor again to the bed and Mai lightly touched his wrist. Briefly, he considered her before he leaned down to kiss her, feeling her breath catch against his lips. She was so warm, she was practically melting, returning each kiss with emphasis. Her hands reached for the bottoms of his shirt, slowly pulling each one open while he rewarded her by teasing his tongue into her mouth.
More than satisfied, Geese broke the kiss despite Mai’s insistence pulling at his shirt. “What do you want, Mai?”
“Everything that feels good,” she answered softly, almost vibrating with need. She had always been a stunning creature, but she had moments where she somehow exceeded that. On their wedding day. During her pregnancy. Whenever she’d fawn over and tend to Eri. Or beam with pride whenever she managed to win a game of something. Or moments like this where every part of her was warm like the most scalding flames; her skin, her eyes, her breath.
Geese couldn’t help but laugh and stroke her cheek. He pulled the straps down for her chemise to get better access to her breasts, reaching across her chest to cup one gently. A few touches went a long way because Geese could feel Mai’s breath catch with a little sound of satisfaction, drifting along with his hand as it moved from lightly playing with her nipples to between her legs. Meanwhile, Mai watched him with intense interest, a moan escaping her as he rubbed her folds, then teased her clit.
“Geese, please,” she whispered, adorably and amusingly desperate yet intensely fierce about it. Of course, Mai being Mai, she grinned at the unintentional rhyme.
Right. Geese had been relentless in playing with his little wife tonight but he himself had been bursting at the seams with the urge to have her. Already aware of this, he sat up and searched through his pocket for a little square he had stashed when he went to the bathroom with the toy. In the meanwhile, Mai lay and stared at him, still very much expecting her reward, a spark of excitement igniting in her eyes as Geese managed to wriggle himself out of his pants.
“Your patience is very attractive, by the way,” he said as he looked at her. He meant that but something about that statement must have tickled her pink because she began giggling with mirth.
“The most stalwart flames tend to burn the longest,” Mai said, lighthearted. Her gaze landed on Geese’s crotch while he applied the condom. Very slowly of course, despite the way his brain was screaming at him to get on with it so he could have his way with her already. Normally he’d put the wrapping elsewhere to be found easily but right now, he simply tossed the damn thing over his shoulder. He got a good hold of Mai and tried to flip her until she got the memo and rolled over herself.
Near impatient, Geese put his hands on Mai’s thighs to slide the skirt of the chemise to her hips. Again, he could take his time, and to an extent he did, grabbing a hold of his cock and slowly sliding into her in one fluid movement, settling into the feeling. Settling into the sense of pride that came from him upon hearing a pleased groan from Mai. He didn’t wait for her to get adjusted, not that she needed the courtesy, gasping at the feeling of him. “Oh god~! Please, more…”
She began urging Geese into motion by shifting her hips, going wild with want and he happily obliged, surrendering to the most amazing feeling of warmth drifting over him as he swiftly began to fuck her. A grin spread over his face as Mai buried her face into the pillow, shameless moans spilling out of her. Something about the noises she was making did wonders to make Geese even harder and more reactive, so he leaned over her, a switch in his brain flipping hard at the sight of her, saying; “I want to hear you come, hear you make all the sounds just like that.”
“Ugh, yes,” Mai answered, her mind scattered to the winds. "Please…”
“Good girl. I love it when you beg,” Geese parted some of her hair from her back, exposing her neck. The softness of her was the perfect trigger to make pleasure tingle across his skin. “You look amazing, love.”
Despite Mai’s feverish moans, she couldn’t help the burst of laughter that came from her. It helped that Geese’s pace was neither hard nor fast, taking his time to work Mai up, then slow down to drag it out as long as he could. Or at least until he had made up for the experience of their game, even if lust and impatience made his head spin something fierce because it all felt so good. Fuck it, he couldn’t keep holding out any longer for tonight. He gripped Mai’s hips tight and moved his hips faster while she yelped into the depths of the pillow. "Oh my god, oh my god-“
Her fierce gasps increased in pitch before she came for the second time tonight. It was difficult not to-ugh, he could feel her throb around his cock with the aftershocks. Mai softened in his grasp, softly humming against Geese slamming his cock into her, still sensitive until he came harder than he had ever done in a long while, his brain whitening out for a moment. Some growl of a curse or something escaped him in the aftermath, and he wrapped his arms around Mai, collapsing onto her with a few sloppy kisses against the back of her neck.
And in the afterglow, they remained there. At least for a little while.
“Stay…” Mai murmured, on the brink of sleep while Geese rolled off her to dispose of the condom.
“Gotta clear down,” he answered though it amounted to little more than removing the rest of his clothes, then returning to the bed. Mai had already crawled under the covers but as soon as he lay next to her, she pounced on him – although calling it as such was generous. It was more her shifting closer to kiss him with warmth and sensation.
She was and always would be his greatest weakness. She was his greatest strength too. His pride and joy. His source of infinite happiness.
Mai and Eri combined.
Geese Howard was not a sentimentalist. Everything he did was for the sake of prosperity or power. Mostly everything.
Despite himself, he had to admit that he too had grown a little achy for the presence of his daughter. Perhaps this was why he walked a little faster to the door of the hotel room and knocked, feeling positively aglow with fondness when the door opened. Standing there was Rock with a baby in his arms, making a few faint noises and happily observing the world around her. Eri was a quiet but curious child, gentle in her excitement over seeing her father again.
There was a brief but significant pause as they looked at one another; father and son. A bit thronged by the long history of misery, contempt, hostility, and despair that had been at the forefront of their relationship. Though things were better now than they had ever been, they were also so very delicate. No doubt due to this reason, Geese found himself still horribly awkward around Rock, comforted by the knowledge that the feeling was mutual. But at the very least, they were slowly beginning to put the past behind them. In no doubt thanks to the binding force of gravity that was Eri.
Before Geese could say a word to either of his children, Mai pushed herself to the scene and seized the baby into her arms, cooing and showering the child with boundless affection to make her giggle. With a grin wider, Mai looked at Rock, warmer than the surface of the sun. “Thank you dearly. Did she do well? I mean I know you did as always but…”
Rock shuffled on his feet, a little embarrassed at the flattery despite it being a routine every time he babysat Eri. “Erhm…I mean, she’s nice and sweet to handle. And Ryu-Yamazaki has been patient with her which says a lot because she barfed all over his back this morning when I made him hold her after breakfast. I think he likes her more than he’d admit.”
Made sense considering the numerous times Rock had been summoned to take care of Eri. With or without Yamazaki around. Which was quite telling indeed. But then again, Rock was more than happy to spend time with his sister regardless of the age gap. Despite his own internal struggles with a sense of imposter syndrome, he took to being part of the Howard-Shiranui-Heinlein-maybe Bogard family noodle soup pretty well.
“Where is the viper anyway?” Geese asked, slinking close to Mai’s side so that he could boop the nose of the infant to make her smile.
Rock heaved a deep breath, then looked over his shoulder just as footsteps shuffling across the floor came closer and Yamazaki peered his ugly mug out to the open with an equally sour expression. He put a hand on Rock’s shoulder. “Little wolfy here insisted I learn to change diapers on the kid right before getting puked on. You fu-freakin’ owe me for this, Howard.”
“Fine, fine…” Geese sighed, taking hold of his child. “I’ll have Hein wire a nice paycheck for your troubles.”
“We can one of those fancy rocking chairs then and a playmat! Maybe when she gets older, we could give her one of those instrument toys. Gotta teach them young, right?” Rock turned to Yamazaki with enthusiasm radiating off him – in high contrast to the older man’s vivid and visceral disgust with the whole thing. Geese almost felt bad for Rock as it was rather clear, he was the primary caregiver for Eri. But he enjoyed it evidently.
Which just made Geese think of grandkids. Should he drop a comment about that soon? Did he need to feel any older than he was?
The two of them bickered back and forth with an air of playfulness to it that never ceased to stun anyone who got the chance to witness it. At times like this, Geese would think of Marie. He’d think of his mother. He’d wonder if the two of them looked down at this turn of fate and what they’d say. Looking at Mai shifting between speaking to Eri and trying not to laugh at Rock and Yamazaki debating about the merits of baby street smarts, Geese wondered if she had such thoughts about Andy. Suppose it was just inevitable that one would feel that way; something that separated itself quite distinctly from a divorce or any other separation.
Oh well.
Geese thought little of it as he looked at his second child. Her big brown eyes stared up at him, impressionable and innocent. Much like Rock yet different in a way that was distinctively her. For all the failures of the past, Geese felt incredibly blessed for his second run of fatherhood. Despite his regrets, he would not let himself falter any longer.
“Say, dear. We should go sightseeing before tonight’s conference, yes?” Mai came drifting over to Geese, bright as the weather outside, then turned around to Rock and Yamazaki. “You two should go out and have some fun too.”
This caused the two of them to pause and look at one another. Geese and Mai let them figure that out on their own.
“Things are looking so great lately, wouldn’t you agree?” Mai said much later as they had left the building, heading for the black car waiting for them. She had been staring longingly at Eri before shifting her gaze to Geese. ”I don’t need to ask you; I know what your answer will be. A resounding yes!”
“Naturally,” Geese huffed with dignified pride.
Hopper stood by the door to the backseat opening it for the couple. He looked at Eri, not quite able to hide his ardor despite his best efforts to curb the smile on his face. Despite neither parent having actual siblings, everyone around her sort of took on the role of loving uncle or aunt, spoiling her rotten with affection and fondness. Even Hein couldn’t stop herself. After strapping Eri to her seat, the car drove off which worked wonders in putting her to sleep and she dozed off pretty quickly then, letting her tiny head lull to the side with the faintest of snores.
Overtaken by tenderness, Mai brushed some of the hairs away from her forehead and fiddled with the filters of the car windows to block out the sun before she looked at Geese, her head tilted a bit. “Say, where did you come up with the idea of…you know, that? The game.”
“Spur of the moment, Mai,” Geese admitted because that was the honest truth. Due to the layout of the backseat, he sat across from Mai, thus could easily place a firm hand above her knee and watch how she flushed. ”We had a great time, I’d say. We should do it again.”
“Soon?” she asked, barely louder than a whisper.
Geese observed her keenly with a sharp, sparkling sensation in his chest; it sort of felt like everlasting senko hanabi. He was completely facetious but not quite when he asked; “Right now?”
“Geez, Geese!” Mai hissed, her cheeks reddening further while her face twisted into a flustered grimace. She swatted his hand away and looked at him like he was some sort of monster but there was an undertone of adoring jest to it. And it all fell to the wayside when she crossed her legs, pinching a piece of her hair. ”B-but I’m not against doing it again.”
“Methinks we’ll have many days of fun for exactly that. Such is a life of matrimony, yes?” Geese sat back, amused and hopelessly tender with the way Mai turned to look at him now. Without saying a single word, she shifted in her seat so she could reach her hand to him and he took it, his thumb brushing against one of her rings. Specifically her engagement ring. Goddamn, he remembered how nervous he had been for the entire day until he finally proposed to her. Now it was just an absurdly happy memory despite the fact that it had been less than a year. It felt like ten thousand years. Here’s to hoping that the rest would feel just as long.
The deepest pits of Hell were feeling a lot like the peak of Paradise. Ironic for a pair of demons but nothing they didn’t deserve.
They could have this and they would enjoy it.
