Summary:

In this world, humans are seen as pray to the monstrous beings above them. The ones who controlled the world and were the top of the food chain. Yearly, villages around the world would sacrifice those they saw as weak and frail to the monsters. Specifically, vampires. in hope of bringing wealth and good health to their villages. Usually this would be done in times of dire need. When diseases run rampant and majority townsfolk fall rampant.

This is always how it'd been. The the vampires would take the meat (sacrifices) they'd recieve from the poor, feeding themselves and and turn giving medicines to help clear up any diseases in the village. Helping the population and keeping all health good.

Sacrifices stopped the vampires from attacking, and sacrifices helped the humans in turn. It was a win win situation for the most part, until some humans had began to put two and two together and realized the vampires would hoard all medicinal items for that purpose. Which in turn would lead some groups of humans to turn on the vampires and attempt to hunt them.. but that's not relevant to this story quite yet.
