Chapter Text
“Nice!” Callisto exclaimed, raising his arms in the air. “Now, let’s find you a place to stay for the time being. I’ll switch up where you stay so people can’t find you.” Callisto said, lending out his hand to Andromeda.
When he took his hand, Callisto lead them throughout the pizzaplex and into the basement, being discrete about having his new friend tagging along with him. “This place is so big, how do you know your way around so well?” “I’ve been exploring after hours a lot, actually! While I’m out doing my work, you should probably stay where I put you. I’ll come back for you after hours though. Being alone in the pizzaplex is never a safe option, especially if you’re not in the system.” Callisto informed.
Within about 10 minutes or so, they arrived at their destination. The bottom of the pizzaplex wasn’t as pretty as it was above, but it had to make do.“Here’s where you’ll stay for the night or two. If you want, I can even bring you blankets and pillows! It might take a little bit, but if it means being able to have you feel safe, I’m willing.” Callisto smiled. He took a quick look around behind him before turning back to Andromeda. “We just have to be *REALLY* careful. Staff-bots roam all around here—literally.” “Got it!” He’d exclaim. The two of them made themselves at home, spending the rest of the time they had talking until night fell. They said their farewells a few hours later before Callisto made his way back up to his station to begin work once again.
Throughout his busy work day of children nearly vomiting on him, parents complaining about Callisto not doing his job right (putting on a bandage), and lots and LOTS of comforting, his day was over. And throughout it all, the only thing he looked forward to was seeing his new friend, Andromeda. Yes, the workload was tough, but at the very end he got to see someone who he was finally friends with, someone who acknowledged him. A little after the mall began to die down with the constant shouts, laughs, and loud footsteps, the speaker finally announced the nights arrival. “Hello ladies and gentlemen,” it began, “Our faz-crew have had a long day of fun, entertainment, and getting to meet all of you, but unfortunately, it is time to say goodbye. We hope you had a faz-erific day here at the Pizzaplex, and we’ll see you again soon!” Shortly after the announcement closed off, the music died down drastically. It was immediately a race against time, cleaning up the station faster than he ever has before. And within three minutes, he was out the door.
Andromeda, on the other hand, let his day fill up with his own thoughts and exploring the underground. He found some posters on the way, and even made himself a small area for him to relax in. Shortly after the speakers had declared the days end, he heard loud panting and thumping, even a little tumble. “ANDROMEDA!” Callisto shouted, his arms filled to them brim with blankets and pillows. Andromeda turned, only to see Callisto tumbled on the floor with the blankets and pillows still safe in hand. Crouching slightly, he took a few huffs and stopped once he reached Andromeda, handing him over the supplies while recollecting his breaths. “Oohh.. your alright there?” Andromeda chirped, taking the supplies but setting them down beside him to help Callisto up and regain his breath. “Thanks..” he said, letting his body droop slightly, some of his weight making it into Andromeda’s arms. “Tumbled down a few flight of stairs just trying to get here. Worth it one-hundred percent though, I can finally get to know you better!”
With a small chuckle and a bit of cleaning, Andromeda and Callisto had a place to sit and chat. What was thought to be only a decently long, civil conversation, turned into rants, loves and desires, likes and dislikes, backstories, thoughts and opinions, and so, so much more. Their talking drifted the night away, and before they knew it, the clocks hand was way past 12am. Nearing 2am, they found each other sitting right beside one-another, keeping each other awake by the mumbled sentences muttered to try and keep their minds running. With a very long, tired yawn, Callisto stood up, his hand reached for the side of his head in hopes he wouldn’t fall asleep. “I think.. I think I’ll be off.” He sighed, stretching his arms wide into the air. “I’ll see you tomorrow, I’ll bring more pillows.” He assured. Andromeda could only let out a small groan in agreement before settling himself into bed. Callisto would walk off back to his first aid station, facing the treachery of the stairs that took him there. The stars on his chest and tail lit up the view ahead of him, returning ‘home’ safely, his beloved First-Aid station.
