Work Text:
It was the last day of August, and even though it was not yet twelve o'clock, the outdoor thermometer in front of the station read 31 degrees Celsius.
The first thing that comes to mind is the fact that the first time you see a woman in a dress is when she is wearing it.
"......It's a bit gaudy after all."
The first thing to do is to make sure that you have a good understanding of what you are doing and how to do it.
A yellow-green dress with a slightly strong yellow colour. I fell in love at first sight when I went shopping the other day and bought it straight away. I think the reason I fell in love at first sight was probably the colour.
Yellow-green.
Yuka told me about it a long time ago, and I realised that if you scroll through our photo folder vigorously, the colour of our hair will mix and appear yellowish-green. I tried it on the spot, and sure enough, I could see yellow-green in various places in the camera roll. The yellow and yellow-green colours somehow began to increase in the items around me, and before I knew it, they had become a part of the clothes I wore.
"Yuka, will you be surprised?"
The unusual colour of the clothes may have rushed my feelings, and I arrived at the meeting point with Yuka twenty minutes early.
The most important thing to remember is that you can't just take your eyes off the road.
I glanced at the show window of the shop opposite and checked my whole body.
It's more flamboyant than I thought, but I don't think it doesn't look bad on me. I'm properly cute.
Seventeen minutes to go.
Despite being in the shade, it's steaming hot.
I was thinking about taking shelter in a convenience store when I heard the voice I had heard over the phone last night.
"Esora, you're early. There are still fifteen minutes until the rendezvous."
"That's mutual..."
I was just about to say, "I think it's mutual," when I involuntarily took a closer look at Yuka's entire body.
"Yuka, what's that dress?"
"Oh, this?"
Yuka looked a little embarrassed when she said that.
"Hey, I bought it for myself. It looks like something Esora would like."
I see, so that's it.
Yuka's personal clothes are basically supposed to be chosen by me, but none of Yuka's clothes today were anything I had ever seen before. A blue striped shirt and a T-shirt with an open chest. The bracelet and necklace would only look good on Yuka if she kept quiet and didn't have an adult-like atmosphere.
Indeed, I often choose items with blue in them when choosing Yuka's clothes. But mostly it's just a hint of colour. I put it in on my own, and I was enjoying it on my own, thinking it would look good on her, but I didn't think she had noticed.
"How do you like it? Does it look good on me?"
"Yes, very much."
When I said that smilingly, Yuka gutted her hands happily.
The most important thing to remember is that you can't just go out and buy a new pair of jeans and a new pair of jeans. I just kind of like the combination of Yuka and blue.
"Esora, let's go?"
Yuka smiled and held out her hand to me. The camera is hanging around my neck before I know it.
The space between Yuka and me is just the borderline between sun and shade.
Her eyes, as brilliant as sunflowers, gleam at me.
The sun shines on us as we take each other's hands and step out into the sun, just facing each other.
"It's so hot~"
"...... I guess so."
For a moment, I was at a loss for words. I had noticed. The sun was shining on us, and we were just facing each other.
The blue colour is as beautiful as the clear sky. The blue colour is as beautiful as the clear sky and seems to envelop me forever.
I think I was attracted to Yuka's beautiful blue eyes and naturally chose that colour.
What should I do? I've realised. I've always been attracted to Yuka's eyes.
As soon as I became aware of it, my face became hot all at once. It is surely not because of the summer.
"Esora?"
Yuka, who wondered why I didn't move, looks at me. The first time I saw her, my gaze crossed with Yuka's.
Perhaps it was the sunlight, but to me, Yuka's eyes seemed to sparkle blue.
On the last day of August, when it was still hot, that bright, glass-like wind chime was indeed a sign to me that 'our summer' had begun.
