From the Spotlight

Summary:

Whenever his boyfriend shares jokes and talks and smiles, eyes shining and a dimple appearing—god, he's so in love it isn't even funny.

Work Text:

"Damn, baby. You look fly as hell. On some other level type of shit."

"Do you like it?" Andy smiles softly over his shoulder. His boyfriend looks great as well, dressed in a white shirt, black denim jeans, and Cartier sunglasses. They pretty much match, though Andy's opted to add on a watch and a jacket. He can't squeeze his phone in his skin-tight pants, and a watch is useful if he needs to avoid a conversation. He can just look at it, give a small laugh and say he needs to be somewhere else. And it's not because he's trying to be rude, but he has serious social anxiety, and it's become a problem when your boyfriend is an ultra-cool rapper and gets invited to parties in the Hamptons.

Even though it's glamorous, Andy feels a bit dizzy every time, having to remember everyone's faces and names, when his idea of a good time is pizza and a movie. He likes being laidback and cuddling with his boyfriend. Whenever his boyfriend shares jokes and talks and smiles, eyes shining and a dimple appearing—god, he's so in love it isn't even funny.

Out in public he feels like he's on a constant dash from the cameras, and has to look cheerful and mostly stays by his boyfriend's side in slight fear. People usually look at them either oddly or like they're some cute display, that sort of oh my god, I love gay couples! And think they're warranted to obsess like he and his boyfriend are aliens from another planet.

It could've been worst, though. It's a much different time from people holding pickets and pitchforks, screaming how gays are going to hell. Now it's operated more in secret, but Andy isn't sure he likes them to be viewed as spectacles, either.

"Yeah, you know I do."

Andy playfully pulls on his boyfriend's black tie, leaning into a kiss. He has to stand on his tiptoes a bit, given his boyfriend is 5'9". "You're not so bad yourself, stud. You look like you're on the way to the red carpet."

"We still have about twenty minutes, I was thinking some wine and some music?"

"That would be great, if you're trying to get my pants off," Andy jokes.

"Maybe that was my intention all along."

"Idiot," Andy says affectionately.

"Only for you."
