Work Text:
"Mommy, you're going to miss the start!" Chloe called.
"I'll go see if I can't get her here faster," Bailey said, heading to the bathroom. He could hear the sound of running water stop just as he stepped in.
Sam grabbed a towel, quickly drying her body. She moved to work on her hair, but Bailey interrupted.
"Let me handle that," he said. "Get your robe on so we'll get out there in time for the beginning."
She did as he said. "I still don't know why we have to hurry to watch a kids' show about recess," she said with a bemused grin, tying the belt on her robe.
"Because Chloe likes it and wants us to watch it with her," said Bailey. "Besides, it has a lot of interesting plots dealing with the balance between individuality and social order, so it's not as mindless as it might seem." He draped the towel around her shoulders to catch the drips. "I'll deal with your hair out there. Let's go!" He grabbed her comb on his way out.
They scurried into their seats on the couch as the opening music started. Bailey turned sideways and began to gently rub Sam's hair with the towel to absorb all the excess water, then started combing it out as he contentedly watched two of his favorite women enjoy a Saturday morning cartoon.
