Work Text:
Coachella 2019 was a dream come true for Blackpink. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa had rehearsed tirelessly, and the anticipation was palpable. But an unexpected pain threatened to ruin everything.
During the final rehearsals before the big day, Jisoo could hardly move. She had woken up with a sharp pain in her back that made it difficult even to breathe.
"Are you okay, unnie?" Jennie asked, concerned as she saw Jisoo grimace in the middle of a routine.
"It's just a backache, nothing serious," Jisoo lied, trying to keep her composure.
Rosé and Lisa also noticed Jisoo's discomfort and approached her.
"You should take a break," Lisa suggested with concern.
Jisoo shook her head. "I can't. We need to keep rehearsing."
After rehearsals, they returned to the hotel. Jisoo's pain had intensified so much that she could barely walk. Jennie carefully supported her while Rosé and Lisa went to get help.
In the hotel room, the team doctor examined Jisoo and prescribed strong painkillers. Jisoo spent most of her time asleep, which worried the girls even more.
"I've never seen her like this," Rosé said, tears in her eyes as she looked at Jisoo.
"She has to get better for the concert," Lisa added, clenching her fists in frustration.
Jennie, meanwhile, stayed by Jisoo's side. She held her hand and gently stroked her hair, trying to offer some comfort.
During the night, Jisoo opened her eyes and found Jennie sitting beside her, wearing a deeply concerned expression.
"Jen..." Jisoo whispered, barely audible.
"Shh, don't talk, my love," Jennie said, leaning in to kiss her forehead. "You need to rest."
"I don't want you to worry so much," Jisoo replied, forcing a smile.
Jennie shook her head, her eyes brimming with tears. "I can't help it. I love you, and I don't want to see you suffer."
Jisoo looked at her tenderly and squeezed her hand. "I'll be fine. I just need a little time."
Jennie returned her smile, though concern still lingered in her eyes. "Remember, you're not alone in this, Jisoo. We're all here to support you."
Jisoo nodded, feeling the love and support from Jennie. Despite the persistent pain, knowing Jennie was by her side gave her the strength to keep going.

Rehearsals continued, but the girls decided to make some changes to protect Jisoo. They adapted the choreography so she could make minimal effort, focusing on her vocal parts and avoiding any sudden movements.
"Let's keep it simple, okay?" Jennie said, looking at Jisoo with both seriousness and affection.
Jisoo nodded, grateful for her bandmates' support. Lisa and Rosé also made sure the choreography was safe and that Jisoo didn't overexert herself.
During rehearsals, Jennie stayed close to Jisoo. Whenever they took a break, Jennie would give her small bites of food to ensure she ate something and stayed strong.
"Here you go, my love, have a bit more," Jennie said, offering her a piece of fruit.
Jisoo took the fruit and ate it slowly, trying not to let the pain overwhelm her. Jennie gently rubbed her back, trying to soothe her.
Nights at the hotel were challenging. The strong painkillers kept Jisoo drowsy most of the time, and Jennie made sure to stay by her side to take care of her.
"Rest, Jisoo. I'm here with you," Jennie whispered whenever Jisoo woke up, disoriented and in pain.
Jennie stayed awake, watching Jisoo sleep, ensuring she was comfortable and tending to her every need. She gave her water when she needed it and helped her change positions to ease the pain.
"I love you, Jisoo," Jennie would say softly, kissing her forehead before Jisoo drifted back to sleep.
The day of the concert was approaching quickly, and despite the challenges, Jisoo began to feel a little better thanks to Jennie's constant care and the support from Lisa and Rosé. Though she was still heavily medicated and drowsy, her spirit remained strong.
"Are you ready for today?" Rosé asked as they helped Jisoo get ready.
"Yes, I am," Jisoo replied with a weak but determined smile.
Jennie took her hand and squeezed it tightly. "Remember, you don't have to do this alone. We're all in this together."
Jisoo nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude towards her bandmates and especially towards Jennie. She knew that no matter what happened, she had the unwavering support and love of the people who cared for her the most.

The day of the Coachella performance arrived, and the atmosphere was electric with excitement. Jisoo felt better, though not fully recovered. Nerves crept in as she knew she hadn't been able to rehearse as much as she wanted.
"Are you ready?" Jennie asked, adjusting her own outfit and looking at Jisoo with both concern and encouragement.
"I'm nervous," Jisoo admitted, frowning slightly.
Jennie took her hands and squeezed them gently. "You'll do amazing, Jisoo. You're a professional, and we all support you. I'll be right by your side the whole time."
Jennie's words filled Jisoo with renewed confidence. She knew that no matter what happened, she wasn't alone.
When Blackpink took the stage, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause. Despite the lingering pain and nerves, Jisoo let the energy of the crowd and the music carry her. Jennie stayed by her side the entire time, ensuring Jisoo was okay.
From the first song, Jisoo displayed exceptional professionalism. Her voice rang out strong and clear, and her movements, though careful, were full of passion. The other girls shone as well, perfectly complementing each other.
Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa were in perfect sync, creating an unforgettable performance. Jennie kept sending supportive glances to Jisoo every time their eyes met, giving Jisoo the strength she needed to keep going.
At the end of the performance, the crowd's ovation was deafening. Jisoo, though exhausted, felt a wave of relief and pride. They had delivered an amazing show, and she had pushed through her own limits.
Backstage, the girls hugged each other, laughing and crying with emotion. Jennie wrapped her arms around Jisoo, kissing her cheek.
"I knew you could do it," Jennie whispered, tears of joy in her eyes.
"I couldn't have done it without you," Jisoo replied, resting her forehead against Jennie's.
After the concert, Jisoo received the necessary treatment to fully alleviate her pain and began to recover. Jennie was by her side every moment, caring for her with tenderness and dedication.
"You were incredible, my love," Jennie said one night, cuddling Jisoo in her arms.
"I couldn't have done it without you," Jisoo replied, kissing Jennie softly.
Despite giving her all at Coachella, Jisoo wasn't satisfied with her performance. She knew she did her best given her health conditions, but she feared she had let down the Blinks, her bandmates, and herself. Jisoo felt sad, thinking they might never get another chance to perform on a stage like Coachella.
Jennie understood what Jisoo might be thinking; Jisoo was always very hard on herself.
"I'm so happy with what we achieved today, Jisoo. We were incredible. All of us were incredible. I'm so proud of us," Jennie said, gently stroking her hair.
"I would've done better if I weren't sick," Jisoo replied quietly.
"Sweetheart, you were amazing. Despite the difficulties, you pushed through, and our performance was wonderful. Don't be so hard on yourself, Jichu," Jennie said, trying to shift her perspective. She gave Jisoo a tender kiss on the lips.
"I love you, Jennie."
"I love you, Jisoo."
Though the journey had been tough, their love and mutual support had proven stronger than any obstacle. Together, they were ready to face whatever challenges came their way.
