“Oh my God…”
Paul felt pure joy just swell up in his body, and then a smile uncontrollably spread across his face. There she was, smiling warmly at him. It almost felt as just by looking into her eyes, she was silently commending him. It was as if she knew that he did it for her.
“Emma, you made it!”
Before she could say anything, Paul rushed into her with his arms open. Emma welcomed him in with the same gesture, and sure enough, they were in warm embrace. At that very moment, he felt it. This is what his life has been up to. He finally found the true happiness he had come to want.
And yet, it felt bitter. After this, he’s going to have to bid adieu to the tiny town of Hatchetfield. He was born there, raised there, met everyone he ever loved there, and he was going to leave it all behind. This isn’t even to mention that he watched Charlotte have her head blown off, and then blew up the rest of his friends along with the meteor that caused all this… or at least, what was left of them.
But it didn’t matter anymore. He was going to live with the love of his life on a farm in Colorado. Neither of them are going to die in Clivesdale, FUCK Clivesdale. Best of all, just by feeling his arms around her, and her arms around him, he was finally going to be happy. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. This is everything he’s ever wanted.

“Paul…”
Paul’s eyes go wide, and his smile vanishes.
Was that a note?
“I’m sorry, you lost…”
