Mafia Boss
> Holy shit.
Grounded </3

Mafia Boss
> Floyd ran off and Jade and I are trying to gauge how severe his running off is.

Mafia Mom

Mafia Boss
> Question, does anyone here cook?
> Our parents are refusing to let us but I wanted to make my Mada something for their visit.
Grounded </3

Mafia Mom
> Merfolk have different gender and bodily makings than humans. Azul’s Mada is closest to what humanity has described as “non-binary”.
Grounded </3

Mafia Mom

Azul sighs, shaking his head as his Mada laughs at his side. He leans over smushing his face against their arm and hiding a smile as their arms wrap around him. "Aww, my little fry is so affectionate today!" They tease, carding gentle fingers through his hair.
Azul hears the twins' uncle snort to his side, and relishes in the pained noise he releases as Jade no doubt hits him. Epel doesn't take long in the kitchen, Azul had everything prepared far ahead of time in the event that his parents did refuse to let him cook. Floyd was also rather possessive of the kitchen, so it was probably for the best that it wasn't toyed with by Jade with the erratic twin away comforting Riddle.
Epel was more proper and polite than Azul had been expecting, the lavender haired boy always so rambunctious and ready to fight was gone for the time being. He'd been replaced by what must've been Vil's teachings, grace and ease slipping into his words and movements as he brought the food out slowly for the group to enjoy.
Azul's mother sits across from him and his Mada, watching Jade and Epel with sharp eyes. As good as Epel's little mask seemed, it wasn't hard to notice that he was nervous around her. She was always terrifying, and Azul had been told stories of when he-as a small thing-would cry when she held him. It wasn't all that surprising considering that he knew how his Mother seemed to everyone else.
Epel had brought out an apple crumble tart at the end of their meal, surprising Azul a bit. He hadn't had the ingredients for that prepared, nor the supplies laid out or ensured to be clean. The smaller watched tentatively from the doorway of the kitchen as everyone enjoyed the tart. To Azul, his Mother and Mada were enamored with it. They'd never eaten much of surface food, and definitely nothing along the lines of something as sweet as the tart was. Sweets were something that his entire family loved, and while his Mother did wonders at keeping herself from overindulging and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, his Mada-and him as a child-were much more gluttonous with such things. Their slow metabolisms never helped either. His mother made sure neither of them were ever unhealthy, but the soft bellies and hips and cheeks could never be helped when they ate as they pleased.
Azul always had issues with it. He was teased continuously about it as a young child, and the couple of times he'd slipped up during his stay on the surface led to even worse teasing. Apparently, humans were even crueler about weight.
His Mada never seemed to care. He wondered how they did it some days, how they didn't mind sinking a bit further than the rest or being slow compared to some of the other cephalopods. His Mother told him once probably only a couple of years ago that his Mada did care-but it was because Mother didn't care that his Mada never struggled with it. Mother made sure they were healthy and happy and that was all either she or they cared about in the end. It made his heart warm to remember it as he took cautious bites of his own tart slice, seeing Jade light up in the corner of his eye as he ate.
"Little one," He Mother called out, gesturing to Epel. The boy froze, stiffening up as he looked her in the eyes. "Come here."
It was a quick command, and one Epel followed almost instantly. He shuffled over, standing quietly beside their table. Azul's mother is a terrifying woman, but her smiles were never such. She pat Epel on the head, warm smile curving her lips and softening her features. "You've done well with this, thank you. It's not often I find surface desserts that fit the taste of my entire family." She compliments, and Epel blushes furiously.
"Ah- Thanks- Thank you, ma'am..." Epel stutters out, and Azul hides his laugh by taking another bite.
"You must give me the recipe, I think I could try adapting it for my restaurant." She says, hands clasped together at her chest happily, "Don't worry, I give credit where it's due."

It's quiet a while later when the twins' uncle gets concerned and calls Floyd. Azul and his parents can't hear the exchange, but based on the faces the mer is making the conversation isn't pretty.
The man stands after hanging up, promptly walking out of the dorm and leaving Jade to explain the situation. Azul is generally aware of Riddle's home life, probably moreso than most but nowhere near as knowledgeable as Floyd or Trey.
He returned soon after, a haughty woman dragged along spewing curses with a bright red face. Riddle's mother, a witch in the worst sense. You see, there are often a lot of misconceptions about Azul's family.
His Mother is seen a cruel and judgmental woman, and she is far from it. She is loving and possessive, and a rather weak magician-though a powerful mer.
His Mada is seen as soft, harmless, and weaker than weak. Nobody cares to mention aloud her blood descent from The Sea Witch herself, that she's such a powerful mage not even her cousin, the king of Atlantica, can deny her abilities when he truly needs them. Nobody knows that his Mada ate alive a woman that threatened Azul's life when he was just a fry.
And the twins' parents? They loved a good thrashing more than the rest. Not to mention Floyd and Jade's uncles and aunts that have, can, and will hurt anyone for the only children of the Leech family.
Alicia Rosehearts wouldn't be yelling for much longer.
