Chapter Text
Vedal stares down at his mug of coffee, returning his gaze back up to the others that sit with him in their breakroom. Ellie is sitting on his left, her light blue dress shirt visible underneath the lab coat she wears along with grey slacks. Across from him is an upper management from the marketing department, Bo. He’s rocking a matching set of a navy vest and pants, white dress shirt, a plaid red and blue tie anchored by a silver tie bar, his hair is held up with a red headband Vedal assumes Bo is always wearing. To the right is the lead inventor for their artificer department, Koko. The monkey has a pink tank top and black jeans which hides underneath a lab coat, similar shade of pink to her head band. Lastly the turtle has a simple light green dress shirt layered over by a brown v-neck wool sweater, a diagonal dark green tie sits comfortably beneath the v-neck opening. The four of them are enjoying a break for drinks as various mugs sit on the table. A small smile is on his face as he pays attention to the various topics that they’re talking about.
“I’ve been wondering, how’s your girlfriend Ellie?” Koko asks abruptly, the question interrupting the current topic being about lizards. Ellie yelps at the sudden question, almost spitting out her coffee, a blush creeping up on her cheeks. Bo glances towards Koko, a cheeky smile forming on his face. Vedal smiles as he shakes his head at the two of them, taking a sip out of his mug to hide the smile.
“You got a girlfriend without telling me? I thought best friends tell each other everything?” Bo adds on, placing his hand on his heart to exaggerate the shock.
“Cerber isn't my girlfriend, at least I think so?” Ellie answers back with uncertainty, Vedal raises his eyebrow at that, he’s trying to mentally refuse that Neuro’s shipping was right.
“What do you mean, I think so?” Vedal inquires, startling the others at the table as his input and comments are very rare. “You two have been hanging out a lot since the dinner and that was a month ago.”
“Well I just don't know what's happening at this point.” Ellie continues, her eyes dropping down to the center of the table, the others staying silent for her to explain the situation. “I’m enjoying the hangouts and we’ve been going on outings once or twice a week.” Taking a breath and drinking another sip of coffee.
“Do the two of you actually enjoy each other’s company?” Koko asks, Ellie nods, the monkey hums to herself thinking of any methods. “We can only rely on experience now.” Koko looks around the breakroom, spotting a familiar vampire who's walking by their table, a red tea in hand. “Vivia!” Yelling out and waving the employee over, they tilt their head in confusion but walk over to their table nonetheless.
“What is it this time Koko?” The vampire asks, they’re wearing a black button up the top button loose, sleeves rolled to her elbows, black jeans that end just above casual loafers. The other three look at the position that is placed on her name tag reading “Server Administrator: Vivia Trisess”.
“You’ve had a girlfriend for a while now right?” Koko asks bluntly, Vivia looks at the monkey, then the human, the turtle, and lastly the blushing android. She takes a sip out of her tea, wondering how she got involved in this situation.
“Yes, it’s been a few months, why do you ask?” She questions narrowing her eyes at Koko.
“We just need help for our friend here on figuring out if she’s already dating her friend or not.” The sentence coming out of Koko’s mouth is unbelievable. The blush on Ellie’s face deepens further as the two guys chuckle from the words. “Since you’re a lesbian you should be helpful enough.”
“Uh…” Vivia blinks where Vedal feels as though they are audible with how slowly she’s doing it, she lets out a sigh after five blinks. “First things first, have you two even kissed each other yet?”
“Does it matter where?” Ellie questions, the attention moving back to the android. “Is it not a casual girl thing? She’s given kisses on the top of my head, forehead, cheeks, and hands.” The others look surprised from the reveal.
“But nothing on the lips?” Vivia inquires, the android only shakes her head in denial. They all see Vivia’s amused smile turning into laughter. “Sorry,” The vampire waves her hands in apology, “I got an answer for you, go meet up with her today, and honest to god ask if you two are dating.” She concludes, turning her body towards the door. “I’m sure your friend will find it hilarious and give you a proper answer.” Vivia then walks off towards the exit of the breakroom.
“Thanks Vivia!” Koko calls out, the vampire waves goodbye while heading towards the door. They hear Ellie pull out her phone and the noises of the keyboard typing as the others assume that she’s messaging the hellhound.
“So that’s the person that has been keeping all of our data in order.” Bo realizes, Ellie and Koko nodding in agreement, Vedal giving no response and taking a sip of his coffee, avoiding eye contact. This doesn’t work as Bo locks eyes with the turtle, “Since Ellie’s issue is all figured out now, what’s up with your fox, Vedal?” Vedal jumps slightly, giving a strained smile as he sets down the mug. Koko’s eyes light up at the mention of Vedal’s partner.
“What’s there to say? We’ve been going for about a month and a half.” He speaks out, looking at the others, both Koko and Bo are staring at him intently listening to every word, Ellie is focused on her phone typing furiously, he sighs knowing the answer they want. “Yes, we’ve kissed, made out even, and my daughters know that we are dating.” The duo not on their phone high fives one another. “That’s all I can give to you two, so Ellie has Cerber responded?” Vedal deflects onto the poor flushed android, the other two’s eyes dart to Ellie who tries her best to hide behind her phone.
“Well I’ll be stopping by her place after work so there’s that.” Ellie gives away to the others, another high five is scored from the human and monkey. Vedal shakes his head at their antics patting Ellie’s shoulder as she places her phone on the table. “She’ll be making dinner for us which is nice.”
“At least these two are not stalking you two when you figure out your feelings.” Vedal reassures the android who gives him a sheepish smile. “Besides, Cerber's cooking is really good from what I hear from Evil.” The turtle gives her a thumbs up for encouragement and a smile which gets Ellie into a giggle fit from the absurd expression that Vedal is showing. The others laugh, Vedal chuckling along to the silliness of the situation, a genuine smile on his face as he enjoys this time with his friends. Having some pity for his android friend, feeling the nervousness spill out from her not knowing what her relationship is with the hellhound.
…
Ellie takes a deep breath as she knocks on the door of her Friend? Girlfriend? Partner? She decided to change up her outfit before heading to Cerber’s, underneath her light brown overcoat is a silver shirt dress, moving down the black stockings finishing it with black Chelsea boots. Shaking her head from the unneeded thoughts hearing the light footsteps of the hellhound. The door swings open, the android’s face slipping red as she sets her eyes on Cerber.
“Ellie!” Cerber shouts out embracing Ellie in a hug which she returns, leaving the hug and helping Ellie take off her coat which gets hanged on the coat rack, she then grabs onto the android’s hand. “I hope you like risotto, I spent a good amount of time reading to figure it out.”
“You didn’t have to go out of your way…” Ellie stammers out, her focus shifting towards the bouncing hair and outfit of her friend. The hellhound is wearing light washed jeans that end off at striped purple and white socks, a purple shirt that Ellie assumes has a metal band on it, wrapped around the front is a grey and pink plaid apron. Distracted by her friend Ellie realizes that Cerber is dragging her towards the kitchen and dining room. Taking Ellie to the dining table, she pulls the chair out for her friend, who takes a seat, the hellhound places a peck on the left side of the android’s head.
“I’ll be right back with our food.” Cerber says, making her leave as she moves to the kitchen. Ellie places a hand on the point of impact of the kiss, moving the hand back down to her lap. Staring intently at her hand, she feels her face heating up from realization of the action done by her hellhound. Covering her mouth as she stops herself from the words that circle her mind. “Here it is!” Ellie tries her best returning to a normal position, seeing the smiling hellhound place a plate of risotto with a delicious looking roasted piece of chicken on top of it, root veggies sit on the edge of the plate. “Bon appétit.” Cerber announces, placing her own portion on the seat across from Ellie, taking a seat in it. They both start picking and eating at the meal presented in front of them. “So what did you want to talk about?” Cerber asks Ellie, breaking her concentration on the food, she looks up, her red eyes locking with Cerber’s.
“It’s not that important we can talk about after we finish eating.” Ellie stammers out, the hellhound raising an eyebrow intrigued on what the topic could be. “Anyways how’s subbing going for you?” The android asks, melting at the joy that appears on Cerber’s face.
“I was placed at a high school this time, the students were a bit rowdy but I was able to get them under control. I think high school is where I want to teach. I feel like I make a big difference when it comes to teaching those kids.”
“Any high schools specifically?”
“There’s Encre Academy, where it's a private post-secondary school. From what I hear from my peers they’re a nice spot. I’ll be applying for it before the winter term starts, hopefully the physics practice we did together is useful.” Cerber continues, adding a light chuckle that does something to the swirling emotions within Ellie.
“Aren’t Neuro and Evil going to post-secondary next year?” Ellie inquires, getting an excited nod from her hellhound, another layer of red fills onto the android’s face as that thought enters her mind again. “They’re both in the accelerated program even though Evil is a year younger.”
“You’re right! Well I was mentioning the academy to Vedal and he was interested in it, luckily they have good sports teams for Neuro and many vocational arts for Evil.”
“So you’re planning on teaching them for the next four years, I see.” Ellie teases, Cerber gaining a light shade on her face from the reveal of her plans.
“I just want to make sure that they’re getting proper education.” Cerber concludes to the android, Ellie giving her a “yeah right” look as the hellhound takes her time alongside Ellie on finishing the last few bits of their food. Both getting out of their seats heading to the kitchen carefully placing the dishes into the sink. Ellie opens the fridge as she takes out some mango juice, Cerber on the same wavelength grabbing two glasses as the android pours into both glasses. They both take a big sip of the cold drinks, Cerber giving a satisfied breath after downing hers in one go. “That is refreshing, so Ellie.” She grabs the finished glass out of the android’s hand placing both in the sink, taking Ellie’s hand and moving her towards the couch where they sit next to one another. “What is it that you want to talk about?” She asks, her face a couple of inches from the android, whose eyes are darting between the purple eyes and lips of the hellhound.
“Ah well, take me seriously okay.” Ellie states Cerber's eyes turn to worry giving her an affirming nod as Ellie intertwines both her hands with her. Both their hands run warm, their hearts beating quickly. “Are we dating Cerber?” Ellie asks out loud, shutting her eyes from not wanting to see the reaction of her friend. Counting the seconds that pass in the silence.

It's broken as giggling is heard from the hellhound, as Ellie opens her eyes slowly, locking her eyes with the hellhound. “What’s so fun-” Her words are cut off as Cerber leans forward placing a hand on her cheek as their lips link with one another, it lasts for about five seconds, before the android pulls away.
“Is that a good answer for you?” Cerber asks, her face flushed in a deep shade of red matching the androids. “I thought all the kisses I had given you were enough.” She pouts, crossing her arms. “I can’t believe you thought this stuff was things friends do!” Her voice hinting at her being annoyed at Ellie’s denseness. Her purple eyes look back up at her android’s red ones, trying to hide her laughter from the face of processing adorned Ellie’s face. “You-” Her additional comment were cut off by another kiss initiated by Ellie this time, the hellhound falling backwards onto the couch with the android above her, they release as they stare into each other’s eyes.
“So we are dating.” Ellie concludes, her face pondering on all the signals that her hellhound has given to her. Her train of thought is broken as her forehead is flicked by said hellhound, another pout crossing Cerber’s face. “What I thought girls did that to one another!” Ellie sits up, crossing her legs not expecting Cerber placing her head in her lap and looking upwards to her.
“Yes I was assuming but I guess a kiss on the lips seals it.” Cerber says. laughing at the situation, their eyes looking at one another's again. “Sooo, whatcha say darling?” Cerber laughs again as Ellie’s gains more red that it should be worrying for the android. Looks like they’re going to figure out pet names for one another for a while. Ellie chuckles along, strands of her hellhound’s hair in her hand as they enjoy one another’s company and realization of their relationship.

\\Group Chat - End//
Ellie sighs as she shuts off the screen of her phone, gently placing the phone on the bedside table. Shutting her eyes, as she feels her body brought closer by her hellhound hugging her even more tightly under the sheets. To think that she thought that sleeping in the same bed was also a normal thing girls do. At least she figured it out after a month, she lets out another relieving sigh drifting off to sleep in the tight embrace of Cerber.
