A Demi-God and a Robot

Summary:

After the Arkos II gets damaged, they land at Monster High for repairs, and Leo meets a cute and charming robot girl.

Notes:

Sorry if Leo is out of character. It's been at least 7 years since I've read any Percy Jackson books.

Work Text:

“Leo! How are the damages?” Annabeth yelled. She was standing at the top of the boiler room stairs. Blood was still leaking from a cut on her cheek from the furies attack.

“Pretty bad, I’ll need to land to make full repairs.”

She sighed. “We’ll look for a place to land. Stay down here and do what you can.”

“Okay. But don’t get mad at me if everything blows up. I’m just trying my best.”

A few minutes later, she appeared again at the top of the stairs with Percy, the strongest demigod apparently. He was pretty cool, but Leo would put his money on Jason for that title. If he had any money.

“Good news, we found a place to land. Bad news, it’s filled with monsters. Good news, they’re the good and not blood thirsty ones, so everything should be fine.” Annabeth said.

“Wait, what?” Leo turned to look at the two of them.

“The monsters won’t attack us, as long as we don’t attack them. Got it?” Percy said.

“The furies who attacked us didn’t get that memo. Are you sure we can trust them?”

“Of course. My werewolf girlfriend will be down there, so if any monster wants to try something, she’ll put a stop to it.”

Werewolf girlfriend? Wasn’t he and Annabeth dating? The way she talked about him back in Camp Half-Blood sure made it seem that way. But what did he know about relationships? He was always the third wheel, and that wasn’t likely to change in the near future.

“Are you feeling better buddy?” Leo asked Festus as he patted him on the head.

“Rawr!”

“That’s good. If any monster comes up, remember not to bite them.”

They landed on a football field. Most of the monsters kept their distance, and so did most of the Argo II crew. Except for Percy and Annabeth. He was talking to a werewolf that must’ve been his girlfriend, while Annabeth was talking to a zombie girl.

“Hello.”

“Whoa!” He jumped and dropped the wrench he was holding. It fell all the way to the ground.

“Sorry about that. I’ll go get it.” The voice came from a robot girl? She had literal copper skin, and she was flying in mid air thanks to the jets from her boots. She swooped down and handed the wrench back to him.

“My name is Robecca. What’s yours?”

“I’m Leo Valdez.”

“Nice to meet you Leo. Do you want some help with your ship? I noticed it’s a bit banged up.”

“Um, sure. I can help teach you the ropes, the Argus II can be a bit finickity if you aren’t a child of Hephaestus.”

“Really? Because this little guy seems to like me.” Robecca said. She was petting Festus, and he started purring.

“Normally he’s not as friendly, but if he likes you, you can’t be that bad.”

She gave him a brilliant smile. “So you’ll let me help repair the ship?”

“Sure.”

“Wonderful!” Robecca flew up into the air and did a loop, and Leo’s heart skipped a beat.

“Thank you for letting me work on this beauty. It’s going to be so much fun, I can tell.”

“I should be the one thanking you. With your help, we can fix the Arkos II twice as fast.” Why did that make him kinda sad? He should be happy that their quest to stop Giea wasn't delayed. But on the other hand, you couldn’t blame him for wanting to spend more time with a cute robot girl.
