Unable to quit art and find herself an out from the pit of dread and ineptitude she's put herself in as a result of her father, Ena Shinonome looks, desperately, for any reason at all that her art is good- or any reason to quit art, at all. She can imagine what her life would be like- Shopping, chatting, being relaxed, enjoying every day. Maybe doodle every once in a while. But she lead such a life?
Asahina Mafuyu has long since given up on her dreams. Said dreams died, along with her passions or anything that made her life worthwhile. Her existence is now an existential null with which she forces herself to live through sheer grit and love for her mother. Love- or maybe fear. She can't imagine what a life spent chasing her own dreams is like. Not at all.
Before Nightcord at 2500 was formed- before they met anyone or had anything to validate their existence and dreams, they meet each other. Ensnared by the rain, the two of them meet, and keep meeting. They continually chase after and pine for the other, drawn to chase their dreams because of each other. They become each other’s allies, the only allies in the entire world they have.
The only people in the world that can validate each other's dreams. -
