Chapter Text
Epilogue
They've been engaged for over a year and even though it was Louis' idea, since he insisted on Chris' daughter Faith being their flower girl, he can't wait to finally marry the love of his life.
They spent hours organising everything and even if they always made all decisions together, Louis knows that Harry often just agreed with him because he wants him to have the day he dreamed of.
It's just how Harry is and it's one of the things he loves about him. Still, Louis made sure Harry got everything he wanted for their wedding day by asking him again and again what is important for him.
It mostly went harmoniously and they only had a small discussion on what part their animals should have in their wedding. Looking back Louis is glad Harry put his foot down on this one because he already stresses enough about Cookie's well-being and it would be incredibly stressful to look after several more animals.
“Is everything prepared, Niall? Are we ready?” He asks nervously for at least the tenth time.
This time, Niall doesn't just roll his eyes at him, but instead steps in front of him and puts his hands on his shoulders.
“Relax, Louis,” he says, “Everything is ready. I have my speech, you know your vow by heart, the guests are already at the beach, Liam has Faith and the flowers, Chris has Cookie with the rings and Matilda and Harry are already on their way. Everything is gonna be perfect.”
Louis nods and tries to take deep breaths. Niall is right. Nothing will go wrong and even if it doesn't matter, because no matter what comes, he'll be Harry's husband in just a short amount of time and that's more than he could have ever asked for.
Nervously he plays with his jacket and the pearls Harris created especially for that day.
When he hears Zayns beautiful voice accompanied by an acoustic guitar Louis knows that Harry is about to show up and that this is their sign to take their places.
He follows Niall down to the beach and smiles at the memory of many shared kisses and his proposal. They knew from the start that they wanted their ceremony at exactly that place and just before sunset, so that was one of the easiest decisions for their wedding.
Everyone important is there, sitting left and right from the improvised aisle that's marked by beautiful wildflowers Harry and Louis pick up themselves the day before. When he looks at the faces of his family, the only real family he's ever had, Louis feels grateful and filled up with love.
When Niall takes his place at the end of the aisle he smiles reassuringly at Louis who tends in front of him and now turns around to wait for his man's arrival.
When Zayn starts the second song, which is “All of me” by John Legend, Louis' smile brightens. Liam steps into the centre of the aisle, holding Faith in his arms. Faith wears a cute blue dress, grabs wildflowers out of a small basket and mindlessly throws them around, giggling loudly. Her laugh makes everyone smile with her and Louis thanks himself for waiting long enough to make that happen.
Louis holds his breath as Harry steps onto the aisle at the beach. Dressed in a white, sparkly suit that shimmers in the slowly setting sun, Harry's smile lights up the surroundings. In this moment, all worries and distractions fade away for Louis, leaving only the focus on Harry and the anticipation of becoming his husband.
Harry walks toward Louis with Matilda by his side, guiding him. Louis can't tear his eyes away from Harry's, and the world fades into the background. He barely registers what Matilda is wearing or the sounds of Zayn's voice. Even without music, the moment would feel perfect, solely because Harry is there. When Harry finally reaches him, their hands intertwine, ready for a kiss, but Niall interrupts with a playful remark.
“Would you at least wait until I give you permission? Impatient lovebirds!”
They share a smile, barely noticing everyone around them laughing at them.
Patiently - or at least they try to look that way - they wait for Niall to begin the ceremony.
“Ladies and gentlemen, vampires, and I think a few confused humans who accidentally stumbled upon this enchanting gathering, we are gathered here today to witness the union of two souls destined for eternity. Now, I'm not one to give long speeches, and frankly, you all know how I feel about expressing my emotions, but for these two, I'll make an exception.
Louis, a cheeky and stubborn vampire who, at first, didn't want to be found. But what he quickly realised, and what Harry knew all along, is that he belongs to Harry. Their love story is nothing short of extraordinary.
Now, I've been around for quite some time, and I thought I had seen it all, but these two have shown me what true love looks like. And let me tell you, it's quite the spectacle. I mean, I'm happy for them, but witnessing their display of affection for eternity might be a bit much. I'll try my best to endure it, but no promises.
In all seriousness, Harry and Louis, your love was meant to be. May your journey together be filled with laughter, joy, and an endless supply of blood and Harry's delicious self-cooked meal. I wish you luck in facing whatever challenges come your way, and here's to a lifetime of love and happiness.
Now, are you ready to - once again - confess your love for each other in public?”
Louis and Harry both nod, smiling brightly.
“Okay. So he didn't want me to tell you, but actually Louis bribed me so that he could say his vow first,” Niall says with a cheeky wink.
“Thank you for nothing Niall,” Louis hisses when everyone laughs, but then he quickly focuses back on Harry and starts to say his vow, “Tesoro, love of my life, you're the person who showed me how beautiful life can be. I can without a doubt say that I wouldn't be here without you. From the moment our paths crossed, my world transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours and emotions I never knew existed. You, with your unwavering love and endless patience, showed me the beauty in vulnerability and the strength in love.
In your eyes, I found a home - a place where I am accepted, cherished, and understood. Today, I stand before you, not just as Louis, but as the vampire who found his heart's true match in you. I vow to be your confidant, your partner in mischief, and your pillar of strength. I promise to cherish each sunrise and sunset we share, to stand by you in the darkest of nights, and to embrace the adventure of eternity with you. As we embark on this journey of forever, I pledge to love you fiercely, to support you unconditionally, and to always remember that our love is a force that transcends time. With you, Harry, every heartbeat is a symphony, and every moment is a masterpiece. I choose you today, tomorrow, and for all the tomorrows that eternity holds.”
When Louis finishes he barely holds back his tears and Harry doesn't hold up any better.
“Well, that's unfair,” Harry presses out, his voice thin and full of emotions.
“Yeah, I guess that's why he wanted to go first,” Niall explains, smiling and then adds, “It's your turn Harry.”
Once again, Louis dives deep into Harry's eyes and listens as he begins to speak in a shaking voice, “Bellezza, my love, my missing piece, and my home, from the very first moment I lay my eyes on you, I knew my heart had found its sanctuary in you. You, with your cheeky smile and the twinkle in your eyes, became the melody to the silent song my soul had been singing. In your laughter -when you finally found it-, I discovered the warmth of home, and in your love, I found the missing piece that completed the puzzle of my existence. Today, as we stand here surrounded by the timeless beauty of eternity, I am grateful for the tragic destiny that brought us together, because even if it was horrible, it still brought me to you. I vow to stand by you, to weather the storms and bask in the sunlight of our shared joys. I promise to be your refuge in times of darkness, your partner in every adventure, and your unwavering support in this journey of forever. I promise to always take care of whatever animal you might bring home.”
He pauses for a second when everyone, including Louis, laughs at that. Who knows, maybe he'll regret his words one day.
“With you, Louis, every day is a new chapter, and every moment is a celebration of love. I pledge to honour, cherish, and love you not only in the days that unfold before us but in the countless tomorrows that eternity has in store.
In your arms, I've discovered the true meaning of home, and with you, every heartbeat is a reminder that I've found my forever.”
“Okay, you two are too cute,” Niall sobs and when Louis looks around he sees that almost everyone has tears in their eyes.
“To ruin the perfectly romantic moment I want to point out that you decided against sharing your blood here, because you said you'll do this alone in your bed and I honestly didn't need to know that. So I share that burden with everyone now.”
Harry groans and some clan members join in, accompanied by several laughter.
“But you decided to do the sand ritual. Harris, would you do us the honour?” Niall says and when Harris stands up a table with two bottles of sand, green and blue sand, appears out of nowhere. In the middle is a heart shaped glass they'll soon fill with the sand and create a unique artwork that'll always symbolise how their souls intervene.
In the setting sun, the orange light creates a special atmosphere when Harry picks up his green sand while Louis takes the blue bottle.
Looking into each other's eyes, they pour the sand in the heart-shaped glass, finding a synchronised rhythm.
In this simple yet profound act, the sands of their individual lives blend, creating a harmonious pattern within the heart. The blue and green sands intermingle, becoming inseparable, much like the intricate threads that weave their destinies together.
As they complete the ritual, the heart-shaped vessel holds a kaleidoscope of colours, a visual representation of their shared journey and the beauty that emerges when two souls, distinct yet harmonious, choose to build a life together. The sands settle, forming a unique pattern that will endure, just like their love, unbroken and everlasting.
“And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the beauty of their love,” Niall exclaims and then finally says, “Chris, would you bring Cookie and the rings to us, please?”
Chris walks gracefully towards Louis and Harry, a soft smile playing on her lips. Cradled in her arms is Cookie, adorned with a white collar featuring a delicate bow. The rings are carefully secured to the bow, adding a touch of whimsy to the little bunny's attire.
As Chris approaches the couple, the sunlight catches the shimmering rings, momentarily turning them into glinting treasures. The small gathering on the beach watches with affectionate anticipation as Chris, with her free hand, extends the bunny towards the couple. Cookie seems entirely at ease, a furry participant in this joyous celebration.
In this endearing moment, the simplicity of Cookie's presence symbolises the shared journey ahead for Louis and Harry - a journey filled with love, companionship, and the delightful unpredictability that a tiny bunny, with rings tied to her collar, brings to their union. The beachside atmosphere is touched with a lightness, as if Cookie herself is blessing the union with her fluffy charm.
Under the soft hues of the setting sun, Louis and Harry stand close, the rhythmic waves providing a gentle soundtrack to their shared moment. The rings, gleaming with promises and reflections of the evening sky, rest in the palm of Louis' hand. With a tender smile, he lifts Harry's hand, his fingers dancing over Harry's skin like a silent, affectionate melody.
As Louis slips the ring onto Harry's finger, it's a dance of love, a subtle embrace of commitment. The moment is graced by Cookie nestled between them, a silent witness to the exchange of vows and the intertwining of lives.
In turn, Harry takes Louis' hand into his own, their eyes locked in a silent understanding that transcends words. With a shared smile, he places the ring on Louis' finger, a symbol of their journey together.
Louis and Harry, wrapped in the glow of twilight, stand as one, connected by the eternal circle of their love, with Cookie as the sweet reminder of simplicity and joy in their shared journey.
“I hereby declare you husband and husband. You can kiss now,” Niall smiles and takes Cookie off of them, aware that the bunny needs his care while the two of them sink into each other's touches.
With a shared smile, they lean in, closing the distance between them. The kiss is a delicate fusion of tenderness and passion, a testament to the depth of their connection. Harry's hands find their place on Louis' waist, pulling him closer, while Louis' fingers weave through Harry's hair, creating an intimate dance of shared affection.
Their bodies press against each other, merging in a symphony of love and commitment. The world around them seems to fade, leaving only the soft sound of the ocean and the warmth of their entwined embrace. The kiss becomes a reflection of their journey - a journey marked by challenges, growth, and, above all, an enduring love that has weathered every storm.
As they pull away, a renewed sense of unity lingers between them. The kiss, charged with emotion and history, signifies not only the end of a beautiful ceremony but also the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Hand in hand, they step forward, ready to face whatever comes their way, their love a beacon guiding them through the unknown.
