Work Text:
You grumbled as a sliver of sunlight snuck its way through the closed curtains and found its way across your face.
It was too early, and it was cold. The blankets shifted off your legs as you rolled over to snuggle into your husband but met with an empty bed. You stuck one arm out to feel around, it was a pretty big bed, but found only blankets.
You cracked open one eye and glared at the empty space across from you and groaned, burying your face in the nearest pillow pile you groaned.
Where was he?
It took way too much effort to force your head up from the pillowy depths.“Yeobo?” Your voice was fairly quiet but it was too early for yelling.
Your house wasn’t that big anyway.
Sure enough you heard footsteps shuffling down the hall and his head peeked around the door. You smiled and pulled a hand out of your blanket burrito to reach for him. “Nonnie.”
He stayed in the doorways but let the door fall the rest of the way open so you could see he was already dressed. “I’m heading out in just a minute.”
“No. Snuggle. It’s Saturday” You grumbled as you stretched your hand out further as if it could reach him across the room.
He shuffled over to the bed and laced his fingers with yours but didn't allow himself to be pulled down despite how you tugged and whined. “I'm meeting with Seungkwan.”
You huffed. “Sneaking out to go see your boyfriend without even giving your wife a kiss goodbye.”
The corner of his lip twitched up. “I did, you were still sleeping.”
“If I was sleeping it doesn't count.”
Vernon wrinkled his nose in what most would consider a grimace, but you knew it was just his thinking face. After a moment he shrugged and leaned down a little.
“I guess I could spare one more.”
You eagerly leaned up to meet him, one hand reaching up to hold onto the open button down he wore over his shirt. His lips were soft as he pecked yours lightly and then moved to pull back.
You tugged on him with a loud groan.
“Hansol.” You pouted. “That’s not a kiss, You’re probably gonna be gone all day, I deserve the real thing.”
“But I just brushed my teeth, and you haven’t yet.”
You kept pulling at his over shirt. “You had your tongue in unspeakable places last night and you’re gonna complain about a little bit of morning breath?”
He laughed loudly, though his ears did turn a little pink and he finally gave you a firm and deep kiss, opening his mouth to let you taste the mint that lingered on his tongue. He pulled back but you chased his mouth, sucking on his bottom lip, nibbling lightly. He allowed it, it’s not like Seungkwan wouldn’t know he’d been kissed goodbye anyway. Might as well enjoy it.
Vernon shifted to sit on the edge of the bed, one hand still laced in yours, the other coming up to cup your face.
He was glad you’d woken up before he left. This kind of goodbye was very nice indeed, with the soft sounds of your kisses filling the otherwise quiet room.
“Babe.” His voice was muffled against your lips. He pulled away a bit but not before he pressed several more pecks against your pout. “I need to go, I’m already late.”
You sighed but let go of him, flopping back down on the bed and burrowing into the blankets. Peeking out again you saw he hadn’t moved towards the door and pursed your lips for one last kiss.
He rolled his eyes but you could see the smile as he leaned down and kissed you firmly. You wiggled happily under the blankets and reached across the bed to steal his pillow. “Have fun with Boo, and bring me back something.”
You heard him grunt in the affirmative as he left the room, a few minutes later you heard the door close and you picked up your phone off your nightstand. Grinning as you felt it vibrate with an incoming text.
