Chapter Text

It was the next day. Trevor wasn’t too happy, but he had managed to move to his bed at some point yesterday. He must’ve fallen asleep earlier and nobody really questioned it. He sat up in his bed and cupped his knees together. It must’ve already been breakfast time because he didn’t hear anyone outside his door, and god the smell of Jay’s cooking is practically heavenly.

He got up and stretched, yawning as he walked through the walls and downstairs. He completely forgot all of what happened yesterday until he saw Pete. Shit. Confrontation. Lovely. He looked Pete in the eyes when Pete looked back and smiled at him. Trevor walked out quickly and Pete soon followed.

“Trevor, wait.” Pete stopped him by grabbing onto his shoulder. Trevor jumped slightly.

Trevor turned around to look at Pete, “I hate you.” Self sabotage. Because that always works.

Pete’s words got stuck in his throat. His hand dropped from Trevor’s shoulder, “No, you don’t” He smiled painfully. “You don’t hate me.”

Trevor’s eyebrows knitted into frustration. He doesn’t like relationships. He doesn’t like how he sabotages every single one he gets into, “You shouldn’t like me. I’m not nice– or loving– I’m horrible, Pete.” He felt vulnerable around him. He shouldn’t feel like this.

Pete grabbed Trevor’s arm and dragged him into another room. The room was small. Just small enough to fit both of them. Trevor was about to say something before Pete grabbed his face and kissed him. Trevor paused for a second and was about to push him away, but ended up just kissing back. He was content with this. For now. Pete backed away from him, “I don’t know what this is, but you can’t just fucking kiss me and then act like it’s nothing.”

Trevor opened his mouth to speak, but quickly closed it. He couldn’t think of anything to say. He feels as if that gaping hole in his chest was slowly closing up. It was too good to be true. He knew it. “I don’t know what this is, either.” Trevor choked out. He liked Pete, he always has. He liked his cheerfulness, kindness, and just overall personality. He was so sweet. Like frosting or something.

“Trevor, I like you.” Pete admitted, looking at him with a pained look.

Trevor stared at him blankly, trying to come up with some semblance of words, maybe even a noise, but nothing came out when he tried to speak. There were just tears. He didn’t even know he could cry. He sat down on the floor, trying to collect himself. Pete quickly sat down next to him.

“Fuck, man.” Trevor whispered out, his breathing coming out shaky.

Pete embraced him and Trevor quickly leaned into his touch, laying his head on his shoulder.

“I know you need time to process things,” Pete pauses, thinking about what to say next, but gets cut off by Trevor.

“I like you too.” he says through tears.

The relief that came off of Trevor’s chest when he finally admitted this was intense. He almost couldn’t breathe. Almost. He finally felt that metaphorical hole in his chest close up and be filled with love. Pete’s love. He stopped crying slowly, and looked at Pete. Pete looked relieved too, a smile creeping across his face as he stared back at Trevor.

And Trevor kissed Pete, but this time it wasn’t as intense. It was soft, warm, and endearing. It was loving. Pete smiled through the kiss while Trevor’s hands slipped to the back of his neck, carefully avoiding the arrow. They separate and Trevor lays his head on Pete’s lap. Pete looks down at him. That smile. The one that makes Trevor so happy. It’s wiped across his face.

“We eventually need to go back,” Pete says, having a tone in his voice that obviously says he doesn’t want to.

Trevor mumbles something, only a bit being heard “Mm, don’t wanna.” Trevor closed his eyes.

“Trev, you can’t fall asleep in my lap.” Pete sighs. He plays with his hair.

Trevor was worn out from crying and panicking. He was worn out from avoiding people, things, events, everything. He was worn out from everything, and he was just tired. He sighed, letting out a noise of relief. He likes this. He likes being here with Pete. It felt nice. This is probably what heaven felt like.

Pete repositioned himself, “Trev, seriously, we have to go back.”

“Are we dating?” Trevor whispers, opening his eyes. He looks up at Pete, who's looking down at him.

“If– if you want?” Pete says, admiring the man who has his head in his lap. He looks beautiful. He’s always admired how he looks.

Trevor smiles, but not one of the fake smiles he usually puts on. It’s a sincere smile, one that’s soft and nice. It’s that one smile Pete always finds sweet. In all seriousness, he found all of Trevor sweet. He’s glad that he doesn’t have to suppress his feelings anymore.

“I’d like that.” Trevor says softly, lifting his head up. “You’re right, we should probably go.”

Pete nods, standing up and then helping Trevor up. Pete looks at him for a second before kissing then hugging him. He quickly skips out, a huge grin on his face. Trevor just stands there, flustered. Flabbergasted? Who knows. He’s just happy.

Notes:

I'm not sure if I'm adding anymore onto this, but I'll just end this with yay! Happy ever after!
