Matthew stared wide-eyed at the letter that Gunwook held out to him. It was sealed with the royal sign on golden wax.
"I'd like you to read this letter. It's important because I've written in there what I cannot say out loud."
"I'm very pleased to receive a letter from you, my prince. But", Matthew looked down, embarrassed.
"I don't know how to read.""Then let me teach you."

Crown Prince Gunwook falls in love with an orphan living in poverty after meeting him several times in the woods. Not able to talk about his feelings in person since he never had a lot of social interactions when he grew up, he writes a letter to confess his feelings to Matthew.
But Matthew has nothing he can offer Gunwook. No prestige, money, gold, goods, or family. He does not even know how to read. Matthew has nothing to offer except his undying love towards the prince.
