Chapter Text
Next Day
I fucking hate my life.
“Why can’t I sing?” Momoko complained.
“I already explained it to you. This song is meant for a person who can sing higher than you. You sing kind of low. The next song I’ll make it for your voice type.” I explained what feels like the hundredth time.
“Fine. How does it go again?”
I slapped my forehead. “Listen. I don’t have to be here. I can leave at any time I want so if you want me to stay here and help you guys out listen to what I say and don’t annoy me. This is the last time I explain things to you guys. Look at your music sheet! You use to love reading these things.”
“I forgot how to read it,” Momoko said.
I press my fingers to my temples. “That’s fine. Just practice what you remember and do some revision later. Relearn it you have to! If you want to be in this competition remembering how to read those is gonna be important.”
We are in the back of the house in the spare room. It use to be the practice room but Dad started to put his random bits and bobs for his expierements in here bow too. I now know why people feel out of place when they visit places where they use to call home. Everything feels too foreign and fimilar at the same time. I haven’t stepped farther than the front living room since I’ve moved out. Being in this room makes me feel things… what those feeling are? I don’t know. It’s something I don’t like, I’ll say that much.
“Alright I can live with this. It’s not the best but it's good enough. We’ll work on it a bit more later. We have a good week before the try out. Now you guys know that I worked under a different name at The Web. I want you guys to do the same thing. So think of stage name,” I said.
"We were literally talking about this last night! Feels like codenames!" Miyako giggles.
"And? Did you pick a name?" I asked.
“Um, my name is gonna be Bubbles,” said Miyako.
“My name is gonna be Blossom,” Momoko said.
“Wow. What about a band name? Any ideas on that?" I asked leaning on one of the walls.
“Powerpuff Girl!” Bubbles shouted.
“What the hell is even that name?”
“We thought of it yesterday while listening to the Rowdyruff Boys,” Blossom explained.
“The who? Y'know it doesn't matter. Don’t you think that they’ll say something? Like the names are too similar? I don’t mind but just food for thought babes,” I furrowed my eyebrows. “We’re going to practice one more time than we’ll call it a day.”
