Ashley smiled softly. “God, Leon, how long have we known each other? You can call me Ashley.” Nineteen years, nearly twenty, but he found it amusing to be formal when she was in office.
“Yes, ma’am.” He was older, face lined and weathered, hair now getting a little salt and peppery– the dirty blonde had faded to a darker brown over the years– but he still had the same roguish, boyish smirk. “Just came to see if you were alright, after what happened with the First Gentleman earlier.”
She sighed. “No. I’m fine, Agent Kennedy. Walk with me?” It wasn’t the first time her husband had cheated on her, nor would it be the last.
