Chapter Text
When Ochako began to wake up she didn't even notice she wasn't in a place she recognized. All she could think about was how drowsy she was. She didn't even want to open her eyes, afraid of the light her bedroom window always let in. Slowly, she tried to open her eyes and was surprised that the room was not bright.
It was pitch black. Nothing could be seen. It was odd since her room always let in a little bit of sunshine. Maybe she woke up in the middle of the night? Yes, that had to be it. She tried to turn over but soon realized she could not move.
For the first time since she woke up, she tried to think about what happened the night before. Her memory was hazy, but she knew she had to be walking home from school. The harder she focused, the more that came back to her: blurry images of a strange man threatening her, her fear, and sudden relief. That's right—the pro hero Deku saved her. Right?
Even more fear rushed to her brain when she realized, she was kidnapped. The number one pro-hero kidnapped her. Ochako didn't know how to feel anymore. She moved her arms and discovered they were free. It was positive. As she tried to push her feet closer to her body she found both were cuffed to the end of the bed.
She couldn't stop thinking about what was going to happen to her. What could the number one hero possibly want with her? Thoughts ran rapidly through her head and none ended with her getting out of whatever this situation was alive. Ochako hoped and prayed that what happened to her would be quick. She didn't want to be in pain. She didn't like pain.
Ochako tried to calm her mind, but the sound of a door opening made her sit up. She turned her head towards the sound and saw light coming down a staircase as a shadow slowly came closer. Her heartbeat increased faster than it ever had before and she wondered if maybe she was having a heart attack. That probably would be better than whatever was about to be done with her.
To Ochako's surprise, Deku appeared from around the corner. An odd smile came across his face. Ochako looked closely at his appearance, noticing all the freckles splattered across his face. His eyes were a deep green color that almost matched his hair. Now that she had looked at the hero, she didn't get that comforting feeling many hero blogs had said Deku brought into a room with him. Maybe that was because he kidnapped her though.
"Hello, honey," Deku said quietly, "I'm glad to see you woke up...I was worried I injected you with too much midazolam." The kind tone of the hero was shocking. It sounded so genuine. Ochako chose to stay quiet, backing away from the man as much as her chains would allow her.
His creepy smile faltered, going down to fondness, as he walked closer to her. "please don't be scared. I promise I'm not here to hurt you." Ochako couldn't help but doubt his statement. She kept her eyes trained on him as he sat on the edge of the bed, trying to stay as far away from him as possible.
He gave a small at her defiance. "I just want to have a conversation with you." he said, "This isn't what you think it is." Deku attempted to reach a hand out to Ochako before she recoiled in fear. "What could you possibly have to say to me?" she spit out, not returning any kindness he gave to her.
Deku looked disappointed at her reaction. "I know this looks bad, and I'm sorry for how I brought you here, but I don't want to hurt you." Ochako looked at him with a suspicious gaze, motioning for him to go on.
"I've been watching you for a long time. I know that sounds creepy but I swear it's not!" He said quickly, "You're gorgeous and the first time I saw you, I knew I needed you. I've been waiting to find my forever partner for a long time." Deku moved closer to Ochako and, to her horror, there was no more room to move away.
Deku grabbed her arms and used his thumbs to rub circles into her skin, "I can't describe how happy I am to finally have you here." The hero sounded emotional like he was being reunited with a long-lost friend.
"I know you don't know me yet but I know everything about you and you're just perfect." The pure look of love and admiration in Deku's eyes scared Ochako. "This makes no sense..." she whispered, "I'm so confused." For a moment, she felt the need for tears to spill out her eyes but she held them in. She couldn't cry; not in front of him.
"Oh, baby," He said calmly, "I brought you here to be mine. To be my fiance. Forever." Ochako thought this had to be some sick joke. "I can't be your fiance." She tried to say firmly. "I have a whole life you're taking me away from, Deku!"
The man's face quickly became one of discontent. He almost looked offended. "I took you away from a dangerous life where no one cared about you," Deku said, clearly trying to stay calm. "I'm going to give you more love than you could ever want and all you have to do is follow simple rules."
"What rules?" Ochako asked uncertainly.
"Don't worry baby, I only have three, and I promise they aren't unreasonable," Deku said, attempting to put on a calming voice. His version didn't make her feel better.
Relief came over to Ochako when Deku stood up. "Rule one," a sudden assertive aura came over him, "absolutely no escaping." Was this dude fucking stupid? That seemed like the unspoken rule of kidnapping and there was no way he thought saying this would stop Ochako from trying.
"I understand you don't want to stay in this basement for a long time, and I'm gonna let you come out tomorrow, but if you try and leave I'll keep you down here as long as I have to." A sudden shift in Deku's demeanor became apparent.
Originally, he was kind: off-putting but kind. Now he became stern. It was clear he was trying to intimidate her and she didn't know what else to do but be scared. Deku had not even finished explaining the rules and it seemed he was already challenging her to break them.
"Rule two," Deku stepped closer to the bed, "I always expect you to treat me with respect." Ochako glared at the man looming above her. "Be mad at me all you want but I won't tolerate disrespect. We are soon to be married and I won't tolerate that for our whole lives."
"I don't want to marry you." Ochako blurted out without much thought.
A saddened expression came across Deku's face. Serves him right. "I know." he mumbled, "I won't force you to marry me. We'll just be engaged till you tell me you're ready."
Like that will ever happen.
Deku took a moment to regain his composure, putting his stern persona back into use. Something about the heartbroken attitude a few minutes ago made him less scary. "Rule three," he said with a sigh, "Just accept my love."
That was weirdly sad. Ochako was taken aback by the odd rule, wondering what he even meant by that. "I have so much love to give you and it will be easier for the both of us if you just let me love you."
Deku seemed content with the short conversation they had. It was hard for Ochako to understand where the hero was coming from. The rules were simple and mostly seemed like unspoken kidnapping etiquette but why her? Deku was the number one hero in the country he could have any woman he wanted.
The man reached a hand towards Ochako's shoulder and she had to try her hardest to not flinch away from his touch. She took small comfort in knowing Deku wasn't going to kill her, or, she thought he wouldn't.
The two stared at each other for a long while. Ochako simply wondered what was wrong with the hero. How was it possible he managed to trick the whole world into thinking he was some sort of standup guy when this is what he was doing when no one else was around?
The media portrayed Deku as the nerdy type. Anytime he was brought up on the news every channel and magazine talked about how he excelled in school. Girls around the world looked up to Deku, imagining him as the perfect guy they all wanted to end up with someday.
It made Ochako sick.
A burning hatred filled the girl's heart. She had always been told that as a woman with no quirk she had to be careful, men preyed on women like her for fun. Something about her being completely helpless got them off. Who would've known the top hero was that kind of dude? Deku could kill Ochako in seconds if he wanted to, it made the situation more cruel. He could kidnap any woman. Yet, he chooses the weakest of the bunch.
"You aren't scared of me." Ochako was suddenly broken out of her thoughts. "What?" She asked, half confused. "Most people are scared of me. They hear I'm the top hero and treat me differently but even after I kidnapped you, you look at me like you could take me in a fight if you wanted to."
"I probably could." Deku gave a small giggle at her joke but his look clearly showed he wanted her to answer the question. Ochako sighed, "I've been quirkless my whole life. Everyone has always looked down on me and men try to intimidate me all the time. They mostly stop if I don't look scared."
Deku looked down, "I hope you know that's not what I'm trying to do with you." He spoke softly like he was sorry, "You don't get it but I just love differently. I didn't choose you because you didn't have a quirk."
"Honestly," Ochako said, looking the hero in his eyes, "Almost everyone could kill me if they wanted to. I don't care you can just do it more effectively."
A sigh came out of the hero's mouth, "I'm sorry," Deku said as he stood up, "I'll let you have some alone time. You're probably still tired from the sedative. I'll show you around the upstairs tomorrow and we can get to know each other better."
Ochako watched as the bulky hero walked back up the stairs. It was hard for her to decide whether she should believe Deku. Maybe he didn't take her because she was quirkless but it didn't matter.
Either way, Ochako would escape Deku. Either way, he'll have to remember a quirkless girl outsmarted him.
It didn't feel too early to plan her escape but the more Ochako thought, she realized there was no going back to her old life. If she ran back to her mom, Deku would just find her again. He probably knows every place she could hide in the continent of Asia. He's been all over it. Maybe Ochako would have enough time to get her mom and flee to America.
Would her mom even want to go? Now that she thought about it, her mom was always at work, she couldn't afford to just pack up and leave. No one would believe her if she tried to tell law enforcement. Would her mom even believe her?
It didn't take long for Ochako to realize if she did manage to escape, she still wouldn't be able to have her own life back.
Tears welled up in her eyes from all the stress she had just endured. Crying felt forbidden in front of Deku. Not because he said so but because Ochako could show no weakness.
Deku wasn't here now, though. Ochako shoved her face into the pillow she was provided so her cries were muffled. She only stopped once she fell asleep.
