“Where is it? Where is it?” Mike whispers, throwing colorful balls out of the pit.
Earlier that day, they had to help get a parent out that was causing a scene in the daycare, they didn’t know why, the parent just needed to leave by the time they got there. There was a physical alteration, but they managed to get them out of the Pizzaplex and into police custody. It was only after that did they realize that their ring was gone. They thought back and tried to remember where it could have fallen off at, then came to the daunting conclusion of where it was. The daycare. Searching the floor and the play structures, they couldn’t find it, even with Sun’s help. Which left one more place.
Sun was searching by the castle, which Mike was certain they weren’t near today, but it was better than nothing. They were searching near the slide, which they weren’t supposed to use, but it was the fastest way down in a hurry. Cleaning staff was going to hate them, but it didn’t matter, the ring was more important than their job here!
Swuuuuuush plop!
With a wave of balls sliding, someone has entered the daycare after hours. Grumbling, Mike pulls out their flashlight, ready to hit someone with it. Whoever was in, they wisely stayed in the balls, hiding exactly where they were, but the moving balls showed their path.
As they got closer, a curious hand with a silver ring peeked out of the balls. Before they could think twice, they swung the heavy flashlight, making an awful sound with contact. The person stood up with a shriek and groaned as he held his hand close. “What the fuck man?!”
Micheal stared for a while, stunned to see a very familiar face that hasn’t aged in the many years since they last saw them. “Jeremy?”
“Who else?! Fuck!” He hopped in place, causing more balls to fill the empty space that Mike had made. “What did you even hit me with?”
“Flashlight.” Mike says dumbly.
Turning partially away, he huffs. “Now it makes me not want to share with you what I found.”
“I’m sorry..” They mumble.
“You’re not even going to ask about what I found before begging for my mercy? My, how times have changed!” He grins.
They roll their eyes. “I wasn’t begging.”
“Sure, tall and broody.”
“What are you even doing here?” Mike asks, kneeling down to continue their search.
“Wanted to see if Fazbear is truly behaving this time or if there’s more covered up murder.” Jeremy puts his hands on his hips and watches as they shift through the colorful orbs. “You really don’t want to see what I found?”
They sigh and sit on their heels. “You’re not going to stop until I see it, so sure.”
Jeremy’s eyes shift around, deciding between keeping up the teasing or the immediate endorphins of revealing what he found. The next moment, he was on his knee and holding up a silver band with a J engraved on it. “Found this when I dropped in.”
“You found it!” Mike grabbed it and wraps their arms around him tight. “Thank you!”
“No problem, bud.” He mumbles, hugging back.
“A new friend! Who’s our new friend? How do you know each other?” Sun asks, interrupting their moment by leaning into the pit from above.
The two jump apart, Jeremy visibly staring at the animatronic. Michael slips on their ring over a purpling finger and chuckles awkwardly. “This is Jeremy and…. It’s a long story.”
