The view from the top was vast and open, but she had a hard time appreciating it after having to climb a whole damn mountain to get there.
“Fuuuuuck” she mumbled and pouted as she laid down on the ground. She moaned and groaned quietly to herself, her face on the rocky ground.
She hadn’t mumbled quietly enough judging by her friend's laugh. The laugh was not quite a mocking one, but it was at the very least teasing her quite a bit.
“Come on, no need to continue whining anymore now that we’re up here.” She didn't get her head up from the ground, but she heard the tone of Roger's voice that always meant she was smiling to the point that her dimples showed.
“We’ll stay here for a good bit, I promise...” She felt a hand on her cold, bare shoulder. She felt Rogers looking down at her, probably the soldier's least hiking-enjoying friend. “Wasn’t it at least worth it for the view? A little bit?” She heard Rogers' shift to look at it, probably smiling proudly. “Come on, take a look, It’s gorgeous!”
“Yeah…” She stopped panting to the best of her ability for the sake of her dignity, and raised her head to take a look at her own personal view. The only person in the damn world that could convince to climb a fucking mountain in the middle of nowhere. And yeah, the dimples and cute squinty-eyed smile were on full display.
Oh, the way the sun brightened up her blond hair even more, it looked like it was fucking glowing. Her short and stubby lashes looked fucking white, it was oddly endearing? Her blue eyes matched perfectly with the bright sky above and around them. She looked like she fit perfectly well in the middle of nowhere on top of a mountain.
She was a ray of sunshine and a bit of clear blue skies personified.
She looked so relaxed, and giddy, and young and… carefree. Content, maybe?
Stark smiled and huffed quietly to herself. It was definitely worth it.
